Hi Issan residents,
Living in Isaan & have a car.
Can any locals please suggest...
Picturesque highways?
Off-the-beaten-track places?
Anything else I should know?
Khupun nakaa!
i would like to try to do more research here myself but it seems the search function only goes back one year which given covid etc there are not very many posts in the issan forum. i.e a search for restaurant in the title in the issan forum turns up 2 results. ouch
Isaan is a huge area. Try to filter your search a little.

Personally I reckon they have quotas for issuing visitor visas.
If they did, we would be hearing a lot more about refused applications.

Reasons to return might be ? Interested as my lady was refused , despite having own property , large restaurant and supporting parents .
I would think your wife's application had other faults.
My wife's first application stated own business and land as reasons to return. All other parts of her application were watertight.
Application approved.

I am not saying that he if doesn't have to the 400K BUT the IO has not need for him to have it rotting away in an account for months at a time. As long as he can show proof of the money on-hand for a very brief period of time (week or less) then it should be smooth sailing with the IO.
You are correct. An extension of stay based on being a parent negates the need to keep money in the bank for months.

Extension based on parent only requires the 400k on day you apply for extension.
This is what I replied to...

Notice : "in an account for months at a time"......
"money on-hand for a very brief period of time (week or less)"
This will NOT fly.
In addition I doubt immigration would allow him to switch to "support Thai child" from "based on marriage " while he is married..
You are mistaking posts. Never mind.

Amazon TV is dying anyway if the quality of programming is anything to go by, 2% decent 98% drivel.
For the few things I would want to watch its not worth it.
When purchasing membership of Amazon Prime, the TV channels are just one part of the package.
Many prople buy the membership for other reasons and consider the TV channel as a bonus.

Which fairytale did that come from.
The financials are something immigration is very particular about.
Not only does the 400k need to be in for two months prior to applying for extension, it's recommended to maintain the funds in the account for the under consideration period.
I believe the poster you quoted was referring to an extension based on being a parent. Hence his referral to money on hand for a short time.

Done what, when?
Did you read the title?
@smoo1954 I have used that border in the past but not since Covid.
It has always been straight forward. Stamp out of Thailand, avoid the toats at the Cambodian side, get a Cambodian visa (1500 baht last time I went, evisa not accepted), go to next desk to get stamped in to Cambodia. Cross over to the exit side. Probably have to pay 300 baht to leave same day as there is a rule you need to stay 24 hours in Cambodia. Just pay it. They usually have your passport in their hands anyway and hold it to ransom.
-
Will you have the 400k in the near future? If so, when? These are questions you should address before moving forward, for your own convenience.
The advice above is spot on but you need to find the option that suits you.
If you can get the money imminently, go to immigration and get a 60 days extension based on marriage. This gives you the time to season the money for a one year extension.
If you are way off and in no position to get to the 400k any time soon, your only option for a long stay is a Multi Entry O from Savanbakhet. Laos.

Don’t forget the Vape shops, Britain’s high-streets are booming.
I would comment on how, with the exception of a couple of "to let" signs, the high streets I've seen are busy. I wouldn't say booming per se but doing well. Of course, a lot of people shop online these days so there is bound to be a knock on effect. Dozens of Prime, DPD and DHL vans on the roads around the area.
However, I can't back that up with a link so some won't believe.
Never mind. I know what I've seen.

He made a small mistake. Held his hands up, paid the fine. Let's move on.
It's not a criminal record.
His wife has Non Dom status so no need to go down that route either.
If there is to be a deeper investigation into accidental law breaking, tax avoidance and general mischievous behaviour, let have it across the board including the opposition MPs too. Wouldn't want to elect a party with members who have been erroneous now, would we????

Brits giving up Amazon in response to Clarkson getting served the consequences of running his hate filled mouth.
So it’s back to shopping in town and watching DVDs.
Except the only thing left in town is charity shops and the DVD stores were amongst the fist to shut up shop.
The article in the Independent is about supporting for Clarkeson. He'll be back. Plenty of other channels that will realise he's a money spinner. Wouldn't be surprised if Amazon Uturn.
A couple of great dvd/music/video shops in our high street. Usually quite busy. Doing alot of new Vinyl business.
Clothes shops, coffee shops, shoe shops, bargain shops, furniture shops, opinions, phone shops, gaming shops, a great market every Wednesday and, yes, a few charity shops. Lots to see in our town.

Yep. Such a dimwit he's made millions selling his ideas to TV stations.

Let's face it, the rules regarding applying for a full licence have been in effect for many years. Sure, some tweaks have been made but the end result has generally been the same.
Anyone who is on the end of a 3rd waiver has had 6 years to get sorted. Rather foolish to wait until 3 months from unemployment to make your move.

As do the victims you speak of.

If you were qualified for any such position, I think you wouldn't need to come here and ask this.
I taught for 18 yrs. at four high schools in three provinces. I can only think of one. A guy, whom I'm sure had a length of qualifications as long as his arm, was hired as some sort of consultant to improve the teaching of English.
I would think the OP is asking about lesser positions to avoid the need for waiver or licence.

Nah Ill happily change where I shop before I support companies that enact these things.
Unless you are going to shop at the village shop, you'll be using cashless in the not too distant future. Manned checkouts will be phased out too. The price paid for embracing modern technology.

Go to the Chevy dealer.
Not much money to be saved by going elsewhere.

I Will always use the check out lady when doing shopping just like I will always use cash to pay for it. I don't get paid to clock up my bill and Im happy to continue using cash like I have since forever. New does not always mean better.
Not so long from now you will likely have no choice. Self checkouts will be the only options as will cashless payments. May as well go with the flow now.

Not quite.
I am refuting the unsubstantiated claim made by ‘Harveyboy’ that, in his words, ‘Britain is becoming a war zone’.
I’m in Britain, I look around and seen absolutely no evidence of ‘Harveyboy’s’ assertion being remotely correct.
I am refuting an unsubstantiated claim, I don’t need a link to refute a claim that is unsubstantiated.
If however it was me who was claiming ‘Britain is becoming a war zone’ then I would fully expect others to demand I produce evict to back up the outrageously hyperbole.
I suggest you get on to ‘Harveyboy’ and ask him for some links.
There are no credible links to something that does not exist.
Nice try though.
You have made a comment based solely on personal experience when you have continually refused to accept others.
You also made a comment, on another topic, based on personal experiences while shopping to make an assumption where as when another poster did the same you refused to accept it.
However, you are perfectly entitled to use those experiences and I believe they make a valid arguement.
Therefore, in future, you too should accept others experiences as true, valid and acceptable.
We can't be having one rule for one and one for another now, can we?

Link to UK being a war zone please.
I have never mentioned anything about this. Your comment is inane.
You, however, are now using personal experiences to try to prove a point when you have critisised others for doing the same. Many times in fact.

As for ‘invisible immigrants’, they’re not invisible at all, I see dozens every day during my daily visits to the local hospital, nurses, doctors, care workers, house keeping, porters and let’s not forget the tea lady.
The NHS, like the UK economy, is propped up by immigrants.
But as we know, and as has been pointed out many times, personal experiences count for nothing on this forum. So we have been told, links are needed or the info is worth nothing.

If you have all your ducks in a row, no pun intended, the process us fairly simple.
A bit of a wait on certain aspects but nothing difficult to achieve.

Thailand to expand online visa application to more nationalities as tourism returns
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted · Edited by puchooay
Unless you qualify for a Non O, you will have to settle for 60 day tourist visa. Just like everyone else.
