  1. Hello,
I'm looking for a yoga teacher to help a beginner to start with yoga practice for flexibility and strength.  I'm trying to get back in shape and need guidance to avoid making initial mistakes that would need to be unlearned later.  I do require an instructor with several years of practice and teaching experience.  Please reach out at 0909931221 call, txt or line.

Just deleting the numbers/characters before the nationality isn't enough, you still get the "data not found" error message. The full workaround as detailed in the link in this post is as follows:

These kind of bugs seem to creep up periodically and randomly.  I remember not so long ago the nationality and province drop down lists stopped working all together, which precluded report submission.  Last year Captcha stopped working and wouldn't allow me to go to the second page.   After all these frustrations i switched to the 90 Day Reporter app that saves all these hassles and i only need to enter all my info one time.  After that it's all automatically handled.  I just get 2 notifications.  One that report was submitted and another that it was approved.  Then just follow the link to the official approval PDF and print it out.   No muss no fuss.

Just a data point and two questions:

I've been doing regular online 90-day reports to BKK for a long time now. Did my latest one online last Thursday, and the next day I got a confirmation email from Immigration saying my application had been approved. Great...

So today, I tried to log into the Immigration 90-day reporting site and found two things:

    1. What previously had been a long growing history of 7-8 prior online report listings in my profile had all disappeared, and the only entry now showing was my latest report this week -- even though my passport #, Immigration office, and all other details had not changed.

    2. When I first tried to log into the Immigration 90-day reporting website today to obtain and print out my confirmation letter, the website wouldn't seem to let me log-in with my passport number, DOB and country of nationality, the normal way I've always logged in in the past. I tried it several times and several ways (day/month/year or month/day/year), and it failed every time. Finally, I tried with the Reference number on my application sheet from last week, and then finally it let me into my profile.

So, any idea why the long history I had of prior 90 day reports has suddenly disappeared, even though nothing about my status and details has changed? And, why the method I've always used to log in -- passport number, DOB and nationality -- suddenly no longer seems to be working?

There might some confusion here.  Let me try to clear it up.  On the website there's no login per se.  There are just 2 ways to search for report submissions.  One is by the TRN number of the submission.  The other is by passport, nationality, and dob.  Once the submissions are approved or declined they are eventually archived and no longer appear in the search.   I'm not quite sure why previously you've seen several of your submissions.  Perhaps there were some changes to the site database recently.

  4. Hi Isac,

Below is a link to another option for online reporting.  It's a dedicated reporting mobile app that not only reports a single time but keeps track of the future reporting due dates and reports for you automatically.   You can set it up initially and as long as your passport, visa, and arrival card remain the same the app will submit the reports on schedule and once your report is approved will provide a link to download the official approval to keep with you.

I cannot believe it,had an email come through from Immigration,

the 90 days report has been approved ,just applied this morning

now that's what i call service, and the website is now https, just

used Slimjet browser, before if you did not use internet explorer

the page would jump all over, the last 5 times i tried online ,not

    approved.

Immigration are getting their act together, now if only you could

do your yearly extension online,or at very least make an appointment.

regards worgeordie   P,S. printed out receipt and next date page.

thanks for the report.  i just went in to try myself and can't get past captcha.  I keep typing it in and it keeps refusing to accept the code.  Feels like a psycho girlfriend giving me a silent treatment.   I tried on Chrome and FF.  At this point it's getting personal.  Anyway, i'll stick with the 90 Day Reporter app.  It's doesn't throw hissy fits, always friendly, doesn't leave me guessing, and works.

It looks a little dodgy to me. App just put on play store on May 9th so no reviews. It appears to cost 600 baht per report but there is also a 3600 baht number on the info about it.

    Have you tried it yet.

Yep.   It was the first time i was able to submit online.  Happy happy, joy joy.  600 baht is worth it to me to avoid the hassles and save time.  I did notice it was new so only purchased 1 credit to test it out.  So far so good.  Will buy the pack of 4 to save money next time.

Anybody know the number I can call to straighten this out? Or an Immigration officers number? Thx in advance

Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect

You should call your local immigration office to follow up.  There's no central call center.  Another reason for rejection could be the address mismatch.  To report online you should use the same address as your last report.  If it's different they'll reject it.  Lastly, sometimes they add the reason for the rejection in the remarks field (but unfortunately not in your case).  Good luck.

  9. It's been an ongoing saga ever since they launched that site.  I wonder whose cousin got the millions of baht in government contract to build that abomination.  I tried,  i really tried to submit online and avoid the waste of time traveling to the office in person but was never able to complete the whole process.  Quite funny to see how creative people had gotten here trying to convince that site to work.  But i think i found a better solution.  After the last frustrating experience i started really looking for alternatives and found this app.  Not only does it submit the first report for you and notifies you of the result but it also tracks the next due date and submits the next report for you automatically.  So if your visa is the same and you haven't left the country since the last report you don't need to do anything.  Perfect for forgetful people like myself.  Check it out:

  10. The Thai women that enter the sex trade do not do it because they like sex. They do it to avoid starvation for themselves and their families. Most are from Issan where there are hardly any jobs that pay a living wage. Most of the available joba pay around 7K Baht per month. Could you live on this while taking care of 4 people?. They migrate to Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket in search of a way to sustain their life. They become actors in a way of life that they do not like, but have to endure. Some of them get into alcohol and drugs to ease the pain and humiliation at the hands of 'customers'. Many of them dream of finding that one person who will 'rescue' them from the life they must lead to survive. Once they get into their late thirties and onward- they begin to realize that their time is running out and start to lose hope. Some go insane; others steal; most just fade away and let the next generation take care of them. The cycle starts again.

The tourists in this article have no understanding of the cycle of poverty these women endure and some of these tourists exploit the women. The fact is most Thai women in the sex industry do not like men at all and feel exploited by men. They will never tell you so but if you learn and understand Thai- you will hear it in their voice and see if in their face once they let their guard down. If given the choice between a job that pays a living wage and being a prostitute- most will leave the sex industry. As long as the tourists keep coming and the lack of economic assistance to impoverished Issan continues. the sex trade will continue sadly to be a growth industry.

I have a story to relate that contradicts your conclusions.

A few years back i was opening my guest house and restaurant in Rayong and was looking for English speaking staff. It turned out to be very difficult in Rayong so we went to Pattaya to place some job ads in local print and to post fliers in local shops. By the end of the day we had about 30 flyers left so we took a walk down the beach road where the older ladies were gathering to wait for the even older customers. My thinking was exactly as yours: "If given a chance to earn a living wage the ladies of the night, especially the ones way past their prime, would leave the game." The reality was very surprising. We gave out all of our remaining flyers and my Thai partner had conversations with almost every woman who took a flyer. We were offering 12K salary + tips + room/board. Pretty good for unskilled labor. Guess how many callbacks we got. Big, fat zero. Not a single one was interested.

Of course 30 is pretty small sample size and one cannot make statistically significant conclusions. And yet it did illustrate that the dynamics and motivations of the game are more complex than you make them out to be.

  11. For the cynics among us perhaps he sent her a picture of dangling feet as a ploy to get her back and had no intention of actually jumping. Some twisted drama queens might think it's an effective tactic in a relationship. But something went wrong, and accidental slip perhaps, the rest is history (or high story in this case). Who can understand a troubled mind of an artist. But sad nonetheless.

  12. There are 2 sides to this issue.

On the one hand the OP is correct to complain about the bikes riding too fast on the sidewalk without any regard for pedestrians. It is inconsiderate and dangerous.

However, on the other hand there are many pedestrians who cross the street wherever they choose without any consideration of the traffic flow and expect the vehicles to stop for them. There are pedestrians who can't be bothered to walk a bit away from a busy intersection and instead flag down a taxi or a bike right there at the intersection thus blocking traffic in all directions. Same for stopping and getting our of a taxi. Not to mention pedestrians choosing to walk on the road to avoid uneven and vendor stall cluttered sidewalks.

It all comes down to the lack of consideration for a fellow human beings (typical here), high population density, and poor traffic planning.

But it always gives me a smile to see a self-righteous tourist getting upset about the bikes on sidewalks and trying to block the bike's path to prove a point. Which is of course idiotic.

There's finite amount of pavement in this city and people will be using all of it to get to where they have to go. When i resort to using a sidewalk on my bike during especially heavy traffic i ride slowly to make sure that nobody is endangered or even scared. Simple consideration. And expect the same in return.

As far as the enforcement i did get a ticket once for riding on the sidewalk next to soi 26, so the rules do exist and are enforced sometimes.

  14. Absent from Thailand's political aspirants is another Lee Kwan Yu , someone with vision , Democrats Chuang had the right goods but over heated and sank, not very many countries have outstanding leaders , OZ hasn't had any since the Hawke , Keating era 30 years ago , you also have to have a good team with you and that was Chuang's problem, Thai politics is littered with self serving what's in it for me attitude , one vision that Thailand lost sight of is the poor standard of water supplies , that needs forward planning at least 25 years , Thailand has stagnated since 1998 and really hasn't lived up to its late nineties reputation, substandard education along with some ancient traditions and an interfering Military , will make Thailand always an emerging economy , a back water , till someone with a vision and a team that will challenge the status quo, comes along..................................coffee1.gif

The Lee's and Singapore are indeed a unique case.

Yes Lee Kwan Yu had vision and the smarts to bring in experts where required. One thing people tend to overlook is that he was basicly a benevolent dictator and by the standards of today as corrupt as they come. The Lee family over the last half century have enriched themselves by a staggering amount and still do. They were able to succed because there was never a true democracy and so they were able to stay in power long enough to see the plan through. The locals saw their lives steadily improving and so let the dictator continue.

This is exactly right and is a perfect model for Thailand. Unfortunately the dictators in LOS tend to lack either vision, regard for the national good, or both.

  15. I really don't get this non-stop proliferation of shopping malls. They other day my gf and I started counting the number of shopping malls within 20 minutes motorcycle ride from our house around On Nut BTS. We counted 26. This doesn't include small neighborhood shopping centers, large supermarkets, and local markets. And they keep building more. Every time i go into these new glitzy malls i rarely see anybody in stores actually shopping. Mostly people hanging out at coffeeshops or eating at restaurants / food courts. So i'm just wondering is proper market research and financial forecasting not part of the mall construction decision making? There seems to be oversupply of retail space in this town. Or am I missing something?

  16. As well as this raising concerns about the mentality of the Belgium tourist, it also raises concerns about the lack of safety measures in place should tourist get into trouble on the sea. Koh Samui does not have lifeguards along its coasts unlike Phuket and Pattaya or jet ski rescue stations with trained life guards.

No mention of concerns about the easy availability of mind altering drugs, it is purely the mental instability of the farang again, that and nothing else !!!!!

A typical knee-jerk reaction. She took mushrooms and acted irrationally, so let's ban them for everybody. Nevermind that thousands of people have taken them responsibly and had a grand time without any problems. This is the same kind of myopia and stupidity that has been informing the drug policies of most of the countries.

Well, by that logic all methods of transport, high sodium foods, and fireworks should be banned because somebody's irrational behavior, injury, or death can be attributed to them.

If you can't handle something don't do it but leave the rest of us to make our own decisions.

  17. My wife's niece went to the state school in Chonburi. She is now studying clinical medicine on an international English speaking course at a university in China and she was awarded a scholarship on her first year results. She did fairly well at school but was not at the top of the class. It is not all bad.

While in the mean time 100 000 doctors working in Thailand can not speak a word of English and prescribe antibiotic for muscle pain. wink.png

Why should a doctor have to speak English when the patients are Thai?

Are you implying that doctors have not been trained properly if they do not speak English.

My comment was regarding the education provided by the state school in Chonburi and not the medical profession but as usual there is always someone that wants to go off at a tangent.

Because the vast majority of professional literature on most subjects is in English, the latest research on treatments is in English, all of the professional publications and conferences are in English.

This is true not only for doctors but for most professional fields.

Are you suggesting that Thai doctors wait for somebody to translate highly specialized and esoteric information into their own language before they find it useful for their practice?

  18. And the only one with properly built runways, thanks to the <deleted>. Nearly 50 year old runways with nary a crack to be found, contrasted to Swampy whose runways were closed for major repairs before its 2nd birthday.

Maybe that has something to do with the amount of traffic and the weight of the loads the runways receive?

How many AB 380 AB340, AB 330, B777, B767, B787, B747 land at Utapao on any given day? UTP had 10 commercial jet arrivals/departures today, all Cessna or ATR 72. In contrast BKK has approximately 800 flights a day, of mostly heavy jets.

Yes, BKK had some serious problems, but they were addressed. Show me any airport surface that can withstand a daily pounding year in, year out without surface fatigue.

Yes, I know your point was to show that the US engineered airport stood up etc. However, even US airports have their problems over time.

You know Andrews AFB in Maryland? It developed a significant dip (2" deep) on Runway 1L/19R . It was caused by water infiltrating the pavement system and transporting soil particles through a leaking culvert underlying the runway. It was fixed.

How refreshing to read a well reasoned and supported post by somebody who knows what they are talking about. My hat off to you sir.

  19. I ride my bicycle in the middle of a lane too.

If you don't a lorry or bus will squeeze you off the road, or drive past frighteningly close.

Not to mention highway offlanes, I'm well in the middle passing them else a car will pull alongside me then attempt to force me over.

Make em change lanes to pass you is safest.

    PS

In town I'm cycling at the speed limit, if you overtake me you are breaking the law.

(Not that anyone cares about speed limits)

I was with you until the PS part. That is the most idiotic logic especially in Thailand. The safest speed is the speed of the traffic around you. If you are going considerably slower than the flow than you are the problem and need to get out of the way regardless of what the speed limit is. Otherwise you deserve all the scorn and abuse other drivers will heap on you.
