  1. An eye for an eye. How many of you use fake Windows XP?

Not me, i am with Applethumbsup.gif

But pretty much all hardware is sold either with copy windows or most of the software.

It's not fake, but it's likely bootlegged, a difference.

Fake would imply that they 'made it themselves', and that is quite unlikely.

With an extensive knowledge of the Thai intellect, I would say extremely, nigh on impossible Thai's could make themselves. Now hats made from cut up beer cans is another matter.

  2. Anyone with a small amount of sense knows the girls were paid for sex, however its not what you assume to be true its what you can prove. All that can be proven is he filmed the girls having sex then distributed without their permission.

So the film proves they just had sex with him, (they are on the film which is undeniable evidence) because they loved him, right, and they have a long history together or just an hour before ?

  3. Those girls poor? he's relatively rich? go figure - it's disgraceful

Surely if the Government aided the 'poor' girls from the 'countryside' they would not have to resort to prostitution, which is what they are lets face it, prostitutes (women who sell sex for money) and why aren't those girls in jail ? I thought prostitution was illegal here ?

Yes prostitution is ilegal but what we have here is a thai criminal (girl) and farang criminal.

Got it, thanks. The old one sided legal (contradiction in terms) system again

  4. Just a case of everyone exploiting everyone else. The girls end up at the bottom of the pile, but I doubt they could be described as an 'innocent' party.

If they had not consented then they are 'innocent' - if they consented to being filmed and those films being distributed and money made from those films sale (and assuming they got a hefty fee) then, yes, they are not 'innocent'. It 'appears' they had not consented and even those at the 'bottom' deserve respect in my opinion.

They still had sex for money, it's illegal so they're criminals too !

  5. I'm glad the Thai's have a, relatively, favorable opinion of Abhist. He does seem to be a good, honest person. With an incredibly difficult job to do!

    This is what bothers me:

72.3 per cent believe the corruption problem in this country won't change

I hope they don't give up on trying...

Yes, I agree with you. Its interesting that in OZ, UK, or US and no doubt many other countries, we moan about two party systems, and not enough choice at elections, but in Thailand as I understand it, Abhisit has to keep seven coalition parties together. The fact that he has managed to stay PM for longer than the previous three, speaks well. But of course he has to placate so many opposing interests, just on his own side, let alone the opposition. Unfortunately many Thais seem woefully uneducated about politics and democratic process, and still prefer to be told what to do. But change is happening ... slowly.

At least in the above mentioned systems, we have the Press to snap at the heels of the politicians. This at least makes them think a bit before doing something disgraceful.

What do we have in Thailand? The Nation?

Yes, he has also had to surpress free speech, which must be tricky

  6. cause and effect, no red shirt fire no scaffold etc etc etc but the bottom line is if the scaffold fell down then it is simply the people that erected it and the insufficient training they were given, we see this type of thing all day every day and no thai seems to give a HOOT, sure I know at least 2 families tonight that wont be smiling in the LOS :(

No underhanded, undemocratically elected leader, no red shirt protest, no fire, no accident.

How far do you want to go back?

This is (probably) the fault of poor construction methods, short cuts and probably bribes.

At last, the truth without the finger pointing, This is (probably) the fault of poor construction methods, short cuts and probably bribes.

  7. Rather than blame red shirts, why not blame the government ? They are responsible for health and safety organisations aren't they ! Abhisit and his monkey have more blood on their hands (as well as cash)

The government probably have the right organisations in place, but the problem is people in these organisations take bribes to look the other way.

If there is such an organisation that should be checking the construction sites, then they should be held partly responsible, along with the construction company that should make sure all is safe regardless of who is checking on their work.

Along with 'the government' obviously, doing nothing about the corruption and bribes that cause this type of accident, and therefore partly responsible surely ?

Yep. Abhisit should have been able to change a hundred years of ingrained corruption in 2 years. Corruption is all the fault of the government, particularly Abhisit.

I doubt if he could or would after his party being guilty 'allegedly' of the exact same thing.

  10. same week took my sons bicycle to a reputable (god only knows how) bicycle repair shop for two new tyres to be fitted. It was returned with painted white 'Direction of travel' markings facing backwards and a nut missing.

I wonder how many new tires that shop has put on bikes, and still can't get it right? Seriously, how do you screw up putting on bicycle tires? I was completely taking apart bikes and putting them back together properly in the 4th grade.

The incompetence in this country is overwhelming sometimes.

    'Sometimes' ? Lol

  11. I Certainly hope the dodgy construction company and the RED Shirt criminals can be made accountable for these unfortunate alas additional victims.

What did the red shirts have to do with it?

Even though they burnt the place down, they can't be held responsible for shoddy construction methods.

Rather than blame red shirts, why not blame the government ? They are responsible for health and safety organisations aren't they ! Abhisit and his monkey have more blood on their hands (as well as cash)

  12. I'm not in the least surprised, Only last week I had to lend our scaffolder a spanner to tighten nuts on fixings as he just hung on them after hand tightening them to check if safe enough !!! Also same week took my sons bicycle to a reputable (god only knows how) bicycle repair shop for two new tyres to be fitted. It was returned with painted white 'Direction of travel' markings facing backwards and a nut missing.

They were really jostling with the Laotians and Nigerians at the back of the queue when God handed out brains weren't they.

  13. What a backwards country we are living in. By the time they sort this out, Laos and Cambodia will be on 4G. Absolutely zero interest in the wellbeing of the public.

    Welcome to Amazing Thailand!

Bureaucracy, greed, corruption and fear always stops progress.

I think we need a foreigner prime minister with full arm body guard to take Thailand out of the stone age.

we we have a foreigner prime minister now but its not helping much

Yes, but although he was born, raised and educated in England UK, he learnt absolutely nothing !

You already have one ? Abhisit was born and bred, educated etc in England UK, unfortunately he never learnt a dam_n thing !

  15. Something is best NOT to be made public (like the Kennedy assassination). DSI is wise to lock up the files and grant no access, as the truth about the army (guardian of the nation) murder its own poor & innocent citizen in cold blood, is not going to comfort the relatives of the death. Our sorrow have pass us already, there is no need to open up the coffin to remind us about our past. Also, it might produce evidence that the army was really present on the MRT track, which is not acceptable to CRES (despite having video footage). Let all sleep on it. The truth is of no interest to anyone who want peace.

Hello are you on this planet ? What on earth are you talking about ? The autopsy findings must be released, so as to find out if any were killed unlawfully (or not), and the cowards who did so brought to justice. I know this seems unlikely in a country where legal morals, human rights and justice are just a dream
  16. Why is it that I feel that nuclear power plants in Thailand would be a disaster just waiting to happen.

    :(

That is not just a feeling mate, this has disaster written all over it.

Anyone who believes they can pull this off needs to go no further than to look outside (if you live in the city), where they can look up and see the unbelievable mess of electric wires dangling above them, or in some cases falling down to the ground. Maybe it would be a good idea to get "electric power" down first, then move forward. My power still goes out when it thunders or has the slightest rain.

I think those "electric wires" are actually telephone wires.

Nope, deffo electric (and telephone) even got one near my house low enough for neighbour to hang her washing on - handy eh !

  17. If your own countries were perfect, why did you come to thailand? It was your choice. If you cannot hack it go back.

May it come to your mind that there are quite a few people around who tend not to choose their country of residence according to its perfectness.

But of course, I know Thai people would not want to live in Laos or Cambodia because its less "perfect".

This is my home and has been for 5 years, I have invested a large amount of money into your economy, as have thousands of other 'Farang' , without this injection of cash, Thailand would be the same as Laos or Cambodia, would 'You' like that ?

People on this forum are just voicing their opinions as to why, in the 21st century, a country can never learn from it's own mistakes, or even realise that greed and corruption will not make your country move forward.

As much as many Thai's dislike 'Farang' without them, your Health, Education, Manufacturing, Construction, Business sectors would collapse.

I suggest if you 'Don't like it' unsubscribe !
