  1. I saw some Electronic Cigarettes in MBK. I did a search over the internet and apparently it's gaining popularity among smokers. I am a smoker myself. They say it doesn't have tar but still gives you nicotine or something like that. I would love not having to buy another pack of cigarettes because one of those Electronic Cigarettes can last a long time, something like 200 uses for each cartridge. Anybody can tell me more about this?

  2. I am moving to a new apartment in BKK and they are charging crazy expensive for their in building internet at 1500 BHT. Would it be cheaper to just subscribe to my own wireless internet service around here? I saw a friend carrying around a little USB modem and he could get internet from everywhere. How much do those cost?

  3. Yes, at all most any bank with proper ID(Passport) and an account with that bank would be a plus for sure, bet you got a high interest rate with that Citi-Bank card, sure did with my BOA card, got rig of that bad boy, got luck and got a local one via SCB. :D:)

Having used an SCB credit card for a cash advance on a couple of occassions, as the ATM card had sh8t itself....the SCB cash advance is not much cheaper, if memory serves, think they hit me THB 600 fee ++

How much was the cash advance for that 600 BHT fee?

  4. Serious? Will I get lousy rates?

Yep. Credit card cash advances should only be used in emergencies. First off, Citibank will charge you a 5% cash advance fee. Next, the clock on 18% interest kicks in immediately. Then, whatever network Citibank rides (Visa or MasterCard) will charge a 1% foreign transaction fee. Then, on the Thai side, these folks will want their share of your assets. So expect a hefty fee here as well. These will differ between booths and banks, with the former usually charging more.

You won't need your pin number, as this will be a signature transaction.

Also, your cash advance maximum may differ from your overall credit limit, so check that out if you're really seriously considering going this route.

Man, didn't know there was so much crap. Definitely will be my emergency only option now.
