what Mityon shop are you talking about? I have been corner 3rd Rd./South Pattaya Rd. which mentioned show model not for sale order only......

South Road/Soi Buakhao.   Smaller Mityon.  The one on 3rd road is the biggest of the Mityon's in Pattaya.

Across the street from the shop I visited (which sells a mixture of bikes) is another Mityon that I believe sells only Hondas.

    I am confused,

not clear about what you are trying to say, can you help me understand the point(s) you are trying to make?
    - What do you mean by, ' seat height issue'? What seat height issue?? Are you saying you did not buy the XMax 300 display model because the seat height is too high?

    - What do you mean by, 'I assume Mityon would have replaced it with another one fairly quickly'.   ???

Guess you haven't read the previous posts Ahnsahn?   Yes, the seat height is an issue for many shorter people, most Thai's, including my wife who cannot sit on the Xmax with her feet touching the ground.  This is putting me off purchasing until someone comes out with a lower aftermarket seat (or Honda brings out an updated/nicer Forsa which already has a lower seat).

Because the guy selling the Xmas at Mityon yesterday told me he could get any color in 2 days, I figured there is no problem getting these bikes.   Well, apparently that guy has his head up his butt.  I passed the same Mityon shop today and the yellow Xmax was already sold.   I asked another seller there when she expects another Xmax and she replied "three weeks, maybe less".  I'll update here again if & when I see another one at this Mityon shop.

i was there as well - asked and was told don't know delivery time but at least 2 months, same at Yamaha main dealer Watchara Sukhv.

I could have bought the Xmax on display yesterday (yellow & black) and would have if not for the seat height issue.  I assume Mityon would have replaced it with another one fairly quickly.

  4.   I find that claim of selling of 150 Xmax bikes a day at Bitec extremely/impossible difficult to believe.  That's almost 16 bikes an hour every day!!  In the 15-20 minutes I was in the Yamaha area I saw no buyers.  I was there Tuesday afternoon and the overall crowd for the event was not much.

I can't see Thai's lining up to purchase a bike many cannot sit on, in addition to being put off by the price tag, which is reasonable to me but not to many Thai's.

You don't see many Thai's driving the Suzuki Burgman 200, or the Honda Forza.

Now that Xmax300 is what a scooter in that cc. and price range should look like. Gorgeous bike and I am very happy the seat height will eliminate most Thai blokes from owning one. Once again Honda have let Yamaha steal their thunder. Your mention of 380K for the Burgman 650 got me thinking as prior to moving to Thailand I had the 650 Executive model for my commute in the Bay Area. ABS, heated grips, electric adjustable windscreen and moved like a bat out of hell. The only competition then for this 650 if it is indeed the Executive would be the Yamaha Tmax530 and the BMW 650 GT or 650 sport but those cost over 550,000K

I don't think they called it "Executive" but it had ABS and adjustable windscreen.  Not sure about the heated grips, but I wouldn't really care about his feature here.

I’m 177 cm in height and if I’m sitting back on the seat , I tippy toe to the ground, which is fine by me, but for anyone shorter... it maybe a task. Aftermarket seats will help but I think it will cut down on the under seat storage that the Oem seat was design for...

Sent from my iPad using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

Yes, that's correct.  One of the sales people suggested cutting the seat down but because of the cavity under the seat the foam is only about an inch thick at the front.  You'd end up having little or no foam left if you tried to alter the OEM seat.

  7.   Visited the Bitec Motor show yesterday.  The main reason for my trip was to see the Xmax.  I left disappointed along with many Thai's hanging around the same time I was there.  The bike looked great, but the seat is simply too high for most Thai's.  I watched a half dozen of them try to sit on the Xmax shaking their heads when their toes barely touched the ground... my wife included.  They also walked away frustrated.  The Xmax looks like a success for the limited  farang market but I believe they have seriously damaged their sales with the Thai market by releasing this bike with a seat higher than many larger displacement scooters.  Guess I'll wait a few months. I imagine there will be a few lower aftermarket seats available  by then.

Suzuki had the 650 Burgman imported from Japan.  Beautiful scooter (lower seat than Xmax) by I don't really want a 650 for running around town.  380,000 baht.

The Forza was nowhere to be scene.  I guess they are embarrassed as the Xmax looks like a much nicer 300 at the moment.

I believe the advertised spec for the height of the Xmax 300 is 795 mm (BTW, the advertised spec height for the current Forza 300 is 716 mm). One of the newly released Xmax 300 Eng subbed videos shows  5' 6" driver.

That's the same height I have seen for the European version.  Almost the same height as the T-Max!  Pretty high for the average Thai.

"As i said in my other post as of June 2016..... the Vietnam embassy in Bangkok charges $25 dollars U.S."

Has the Vietnamese Embassy moved or changed staff since June 2016?  I didn't notice the Thai to U.S. exchange rate plummet last month??

As of September 2016 the Vietnamese Embassy in Bangkok charges 2700 baht for a U.S. passport holder, single 30 day entry.  Took 2 days to issue.

  10. Yeah Banana7, I got screwed worse than you a couple weeks ago at the BKK Vietnamese embassy.  2700 baht for me!!  Told me to read the non-existing fees posted on the back wall when I complained!   I also brought up the on line $25 and she told me this was a phony web site, there is no official Vietnam visa web site according to her.   She offered to refund my money and I could take my chances with this "fake" web site.   Since she was very rude and unfriendly I got scared.  I figured she'd give me the refund refund and then phone the Hanoi airport immigration and tell them to screw me out of even more money when I arrive as she had all my details already.

      First and last time.

  11. Agree with you completely Giddyup. People commenting here who are not color blind have no idea what they are talking about. Like you, I am color blind. There is a big difference between traffic lights and a board full of colored dots like the board used for license exams in Pattaya. I've driven in Thailand for 30 years, most of these years on motorcycles, with no problems with traffic lights or signs. The main problem of course is the complete lack of driver education and courtesy here.

  12. Have you seen these "beetles"? I suspect what is killing the trees are not beetle but rather Red Palm Weevils. These weevils are a major concern for anyone with coconut or palm trees. As jeff mentions, the weevil lays her eggs, the larvae work their way inside the tree eating away the guts of the tree. Many times you won't even know the tree is infected until it falls over due to having nothing left inside to support it. I tried spraying.... no good/useless, I tried pheromone... I caught quite a few of them in my traps but it seemed to also attract more to the trees. The only thing that seems to slow them down is pesticide pumped into the tree trunk. I have drilled holes into the trunk as far as the tree center, hammered in a 3/4" piece of pvc, and fill this pvc pipe with pesticide every month and cap it. Seems to be working after four years, I've yet to lose a palm tree and I have about 20 trees with this pvc pipe sticking out of them.

  13. Unbelievable. How in the hell did a post titled "Big Bike Ban In Khao Yai" turn into some sort of horn squabble?? I still haven't figured out why I was singled out at Khao Yai. Well, part of it I imagine was because I am a farang and the Knob that stopped me was hoping for a bribe. I have no idea what db levels are acceptable, or if there really is an official limit. For the record the bike was a 2007 Harley Sportster 1200 with Vance and Hines baffled pipes. I would guess the db output would be around 90db, maybe a little more? There are certainly much louder bikes out there than mine.

Quite loud actually for idle if this is similar to yours. The fact that there are louder bikes is of course moot if yours is already too loud.

Yeah, I suppose I can believe those readings in the video. The db meter in relation to the Sportster is located in the area I would expect the db readings to be the loudest. The definition of "too loud" varies with the individual smile.png .
