  1. Has anybody taken the Pink Line to Immigration at the Government Complex? I've taken it a couple of times past there and there appears to be a walkway from the station. But from the station to building B would be a good trek. I also read that there would be shuttle busses. Any first hand knowledge?

  2. I knew a couple of guys working on the Seacrest. I was living in Songkhla at the time and it was bad. Of course, the majority of the guys on the ship were Thai and it was very sad to see the families gathering in the Amarit yard everyday hoping to hear some news of their loved ones.

  3. This season seems totally unpredictable. Are the Eagles really that good? I just watched the Bengals - one of last year's super bowl teams -- get demolished by the Browns. The Packers/Rodgers are going nowhere. Bucs/Brady? Looks like he should have not 'unretired'. The Rams? The Chiefs? No single team seems to have the inside track. Guess I would pick the Bills to win it all at this point, but things can change quickly.

I am grateful to yourself and orchis for this info.

When was Hua Lamphong originally due to close.?

When is it currently due to  close.?

    Many thanks.

Originally due to close in late December 2021. But there was a lot of pushback from the public about closing the Hua Lampong station. The government has been quiet about it since then. I have not seen or read anything about when they intend to shut down Hua Lampong for good.

I am sure you are unaware but the rink at Central World has been open since November of last year.  The GF's daughter has skated on it now twice while using the penguin support as she skates, or learns to.

Sorry, should have read your post more carefully as you did mention Central World. I was thinking of the rink at Central Rama 9 where they played hockey. That's where Johnny Oduya played when he was training during the NHL off-season a few years ago (as referenced by the OP). They had a full size hockey rink there; the one at Central World is a bit small for hockey, but a good place for kids to learn to skate, for sure.

still running from Hua Lampong (station remains active) but you can also board at Bang Sue, the new central station.

Trains out of Hua Lampong can be boarded at Bang Sue but be careful! It's the old, original station -- called Bang Sue Junction -- not the new Grand Central. They are several hundred meters apart. If not familiar with the area I suggest the OP board at Hua Lampong.

The plan is for all interprovincial trains to leave from Bang Sue Grand Central in the future.

  7. The Red Line stop at Lak Si would be physically closest to MTT, but depending on where you live, it may be more convenient to take the Green Line to Wat Phra Sri Mahathat which is not too much farther away. Certainly if you live on Sukhumvit or Phaholyothin it's easier to take the Green Line rather than transfer via MRT Blue Line to Bang Sue Grand Station to get the Red Line. (Although the Red Line is free these days, so there's that.)
