  1. I heard that PM Thaksin's son was born in Texas when the PM was studying for his Masters Degree there. Anyone know if this is true? If so, does he have to get a VISA and visit Immigration every 90 days? He would qualify in that he has enough income to support the family.

  2. Although I am not subscriber of conspiracy theories it worries me that a Bush was on the Warren Comission (cannot confirm this) , a Bush was head of the CIA at the time of JFK's death, a Bush was Govenor of Florida when our future was in the hands of a few. A Bush was in Governemnt the first time we attacked Iraq. A Bush was in Governement during the second attack on Iraq. A Bush has a lawsuit against the Iraq governement due to oil concerns. A Bush was in governement during the last two times that a record was set in our National Debt. And the story goes on and on........................

  3. The photo of Kerry about thirty feet behind Jan Fonda at an Anti War Rally means nothing to me wether real of faked. It means he was there. I was at a rally with Jane Fonda (the female traitor dog scum) prior to going to Viet Nam in 1968, although it does mean that I was protesting with her it only means I was there. Once having gone to Viet nam and having defended what I saw as Democracy I also earned the right to protest. I chose not to exercise the right to demonstarte and instead stayed overseas forever.

  4. I am sorry but I am of the opinion that many of you are a bit hard on the guy. I always said that if a lot of people complain then that means that you are doing something. It is impossible to please everyone. I see him as doing his best, although he may lack political experince and the diplomatic finesse we require of our leaders, he certainly is a leader. He eradicated drugs, he has helped many poor people avoid the Chinese Loan Sharks and he is constantly striving to make Thailand a better place for the little guy.

If we were really a thorn in his side he could shut us (the thaivisa.com) down without a problem but I see him as tolerant, wether out of design or forced to be so, by fear of public opinion.

  5. Actually back in the early 90's when I was one of the first Internet providers in Italy, I had a woman barge into my office and complain that I had destroyed her marriage with that damned Internet. My wife is usually very understanding, it's the kids that do not tolerate less than 12 hours attention a day and raise ###### if Pappa is not available to play Chang with them.

  6. You know Bonita, I used to have the Mercedes, exspensive suits at $500 each and spend $150 for a evening meal and a lot more on a weekend until I found that little village, my Thai wife comes from and we built a happy family of five. And if you offered me 5 Mercedes, I would not go back. Now I am no longer rich but, we will never be hungry and we are happy. Neve be ashsamed of you culture of heritage.

  7. My wife and I just went to the neighbors around us and the local concensus is that a European, North American, a black American is an Afro American, Australia and (NZ) included is a farang and an African is an African, an Asian is an Asian and a South American is just that. All have their good names and bad ones. Farang is not intended badly and should not be taken as such. Although I must admit I felt it when I first came to Thailand ages ago. :o

  8. Here in my village the word is out. I had a young school boy call out to me "F*** you Farang". I chased him down and took him to his father and through others explained what that had meant to me. The next day at school the little tyke spread the word and I have not had a problem since then.

As for farang, I notice that they do not call the Arabs or Africans or other Asians farang, so to me it is the same as being called "Hey white boy". I am not a bigot and do not to convey ideas other than what my simple words say.

I do notice however many of us, referring to them as Monkeys, etc etc etc

  9. How about a club rather than a Bar (especially in light of the new rules). Charge 500 Baht a month membership. For that the member get's an occasional first free Chang of the evening. Get a public establishment UBC license, install a couple of computers linked to ipStar and viola sucess. If it works out start selling franchises to the rest of us. Let me know!!!

  10. Since this mess started I lost a Rottweiler, 4 Parrotts, 1 Canary and my Mother in Law. Everone said that they died of ther things but of course everything was cremated quickly. We are right inthe middle of a alledged red zone and the people in the village have yet to cull their chickens, as instructed by the government. They just wait for them to die. I worry about the next wave of this disease. They should zoning laws for animals i.e. how close animals can be kept to houses etc.
