Actually, corruption is probably good for most of us "westerners" because we have more money than the average Thai so can afford to buy results. But most of us are disgusted by the corruption because we are more "educated/informed" about how bad it is for the country.  Until someone educates Thais on why it is bad for everyone, nothing will change.

Surely they should just have the trial and render judgement.  His lawyers will speak for him.

The reason the  costs of consumer items are higher at the airport are;

- The staffing costs are higher than regular shops. (Hours  open & wages)

- The rent is exceptionally high. The airport uses the rent to offset some of the costs of operating a large, modern airport 24/7. 

- There is a cost associated with the convenience and the fact that there is a monopoly.
