"administrative slaps on the wrist"?...............it'll be "pass GO and do not collect £200" next.
Bloody disgraceful.

".which has been followed up by the country's best detectives."
This must be the little known Thai branch of the Clouseau family..................
-
"...insisting nearly all its cameras worked".....................in this context, I suspect "nearly" has the same connotations as the Thai "soon".

When will TAT and all of the other agencies get together and report actual accurate information instead of one agency reporting good and the other reporting bad. One hand never knows what the other is doing.
.....please don't hold your breath on that one!

Many will be familiar with the expression "Ni$$er in the woodpile" - well, don't forget chaps, that in The Land Of Scapegoats all us foreigners are just that.................

Just as well for them, as he has unfettered power over their lives - and every other person in Thailand..................

If he is confident that "the attackers are still in Thailand", why have they asked Interpol for their assistance?
Just more bluff, bluster and B.S from the usual incompetent suspects................

Since Art.44 gives him more powers than God Almighty I should hope it's "sufficient"!

Unfortunately there is not a clear case for it being any of these groups.
Al Quada/Isis: They would have claimed it by now. And they would not done something as amateurish as the second pier bomb yesterday.
Southern insurgents: No history of similar attacks. Apparently bomb type doesn't match.
Redshirts: Political suicide for their cause.
Uighar: No history of such attacks.
I really don't know, but none of the above are convincing culprits to me.
Could it be a lone lunatic ? It would explain the poor execution (15 minute timer on first bomb, and second bomb falling into water).
Lateral thinking is sometimes necessary.....................

Only on planet Thailand would you hear such patently silly remarks from a person in his position................
-
I seem to recall somewhere in my past being taught that the most important piece of evidence in any criminal investigation is likely to be MOTIVE - i.e. who stands to gain the most from these atrocities?
I couldn't possibly comment, but will merely leave our trusted readers to join up the dots..............

Baht&Sold is pretty good but do beware of the "agent-mafia" Thai gangsters that use these sites to extort money from unsuspecting buyers and sellers on the pretext that they "found" the vehicle/customer on your behalf.
I currently have our pick-up advertised and have had a demand of 5,000 Baht if a certain Mr. A buys my vehicle and have heard from Mr. A that a demand (with threats of extreme violence) of 30,000 Baht has been made of him if he buys our vehicle.
Welcome to the Thai way of car trading...................

No doubt if the Khmer script had been properly rendered, there would have been loud squeals about Hollywood unfairly portraying Cambodia!

I think that when "Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya, executive director of the advertising and public relations department of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, said luring "quality" travellers was the key focus for the Kingdom", has managed to underscore the key as to why their programs are and will continue to fail.
They are not saying lets make this place more attractive, better, progressive, hospitable and find out what it is these quality tourists want. The emphasis was to "lure" them.
Good luck with your luring.
And - inexplicably, in my view - those tourists who come here for just a well-earned sun/sea/surf beach holiday are not included in his definition of "quality" tourists...................hope his remarks on not lost on those who provide a substantial proportion of Thailand's tourist income!

"The UTCC says China's devaluation of it's currency was unusual, reasoning there was no cause for the move..."
Really? - Thai arrogance/ignorance knows no bounds................................
-
A cool headed and clear thinking "leader" for all the world to admire..............Thais must be so proud to have unelected and armed criminals as their international representatives...........................
-
A "distraction" for other motorists? - can't see that distracting them from texting, phoning, admiring themselves in their rear view mirrors or generally behaving as if they are the only road users out that day!
-
Now I am really confused..............I've always been led to believe that Thais are perfect at all things, so how can they possibly improve on their "quality"?
-
Did the survey include the question "Are you going to tell the truth, knowing that you will face criminal prosecution if you lie?"
No, didn't think so.................
-
Curious what a "The young, and some hand-twisting spiral" does?
Aaaah! - you're clearly inexperienced in those matters of an exotic persuasion..........................
-
Are they really going to question the participants to see if they were paid professionals or true amateurs?
How does sponsorship change their status?
The world awaits......................

Which constitution are we talking about?

Full-fledged western-inspired democracy 'unfit for Thailand'

Yes, it's bad enough if we "inflict" democracy on the Thai people but it's infinitely worse if we allow them to choose it for themselves.........................
