Hi , good morning all, last night talking with my wife re my flight back to the uk ( return ticket ) we went on the emirates web site to check prices for her to fly with me , the price from Bangkok to Manchester return was 46,235 baht, so I checked the price from Manchester to Bangkok the price 499.80 gbp why is there such a large difference ie: 20.000. baht ? I can`t understand why this is , same plane same trip , booked on line ??? can anyone explain this ?? and why is it not possible to book on line and pay the gpb price commencing the trip from Bangkok ??
Well, that's the market ex-UK.
The market ex-BKK is different.
Emirates operates many flights to UK (more than 12 per day) and therefore it has to sell as cheap to compete with some airlines who sell even lower low to fill up its seats ex-UK.
However, ex-BKK, there is no such desperation since Emirates only fly 3 times a day, and airlines here do not price as low.
So it is basically the market demand/supply situation.
Hope this explains.

Hi Jimmy
The strike was due to a few pilots being terminated for setting up of a union.
Jet is expanding rapidly to the Gulf where it is making good inroads.
It definitely will not go under, as it is India's largest airline in terms of market value.
The newly refurbished terminal in Mumbai is also pretty adequate.

Hi Jim
I assume you are in LON.
Have you tried other agents in LON ?
I doubt the flights will be cancelled as Jet has resumed flights today after the pilot strike.....

Kuala Lumpur is not far so Air Asia is fine, booking BKK - KL - BKK mid March 2010, total price with all Tax was 1,298 baht... Yes that was return price for a single return.
I would not fly Air Asia for 2 reasons:
1/ They arrive/depart from the LCC terminal in Sepang which is not convenient and is a mess.
2/ for the sake of THB1000 cheaper, why put our comfort and safety at stake with LCC's cost cutting measures.
Therefore I always choose LH or MH. TG is not cheap at all.

I booked Jet Airways since they have two flights a day to LON via BOM.
Managed to get it at THB24K all inclusive.
I think the fares are very reasonable.
Here's the website www.jetairways.com

Just managed to get a special THB24K fare all inclusive return economy fare to LON on Jet Airways.

Should be no problem, if you got a insurance which covers Thailand (possibly available from the Duty Free Shop at the border in Sadao). Your car/vehicle will get a "Visa on Arrival" for 90 days, you will have to prove the ownership at the border. Good luck, drive carefully!Whether is there a time frame validity? How long coudl I drive the vehicle around Thailand?and if i decide to be in Thailand for more than 90 days?
-
A few weeks back I asked a question about the possibility of driving a Malaysian-registered vehicle into BKK.
Whether is there a time frame validity? How long coudl I drive the vehicle around Thailand?
However, I could not find the right answer on the Transportation dept website.
Anyone knows how I can find out?
Thanks

I am coming from a country where the Provident Fund is compuslory for both employee and the employer. However I have been advised that in Thailand it is not compulsory but optional.
I therefore stand to lose the PF contribution once I come to Thailand.
Is there any way I can make my company subscribe to the PF?
Thanks
and Social security is 5% in Thailand. How do we benefit from this?

I have been transfered by my company from Malaysia to Thailand.
In my new employment letter, they have quoted my salary in THB and I won't be earning in MYR anymore.
Do I still need to pay personal income taxes in Malaysia since I don't earn a salary there anymore. I know that I have to pay taxes in Thailand now.

The St. Andrew's Intl school in Sathorn's first semester will be in Aug.
May I know which schools first semester starts in May?
-
I understand that the first semester is somewhere in early August.
Would it be possible for my children to start their entry in the last semester, instead, ay in April or May?
-
I am soon going to be commencing work in BKK and in a few months time, my family will join me.
What would the procedure be?
Thanks
