I've experienced around 3 occasions where I've been tailgated pretty closely.

A few things:

1) What is their common objective to tailgate? Is it to try to "push" me to go faster or get out of the way, or to show that they're "faster" than me? (I wasn't exactly 'slow' by the way, around 60 to 90 kph; and there were other available lanes to easily overtake)

60-90km is insanely slow.

2) How do you deal with them?

What I did was to piss them off by gently stepping on my brakes... it usually results in an "aggressive" honk but then they change lane immediately and look for someone else to tailgate.

Immature and could cause an accident. Well Done.

As a new driver, the thing I get honked at by the locals for is taking too long to turn into a busy street. I am still inexperienced with driving with motorcycles. I think the locals just let the motorcyclists worry about not getting in the way! Its been 5 years since I was behind the wheel, and I just did the conversion from kph to mph and I am kind of surprised that my last trip on a Thai highway saw me going 160 kph, as I thought this felt like 75 mph, but was instead much more than that.

In the USA you will get a four hundred dollar ticket for that. I am definitely going to take advantage of Thailand's lawlessness in this regard. Stay in the left lane with the ladies OP.

Age is not the decisive factor, but one might reckon that its quite hard for a 25 year old to fall in love with a 45 year old, and more likely a financial arrangement. Like asking farang women why they go for African men. It's a question of size and compatibility.

I can only speak for America, but its usually only the unattractive and over sized women who you see with African American men (who aren't professional atheletes or musicians). People might wish to deny it, but the West is not without its own social hierarchy.

To be fair, I saw two older farang with what I would be considerto be very hot girls today while doing the rounds at Siam Square malls. And, I saw probably 150 or so farang with Thai women I thought were undesirable. It appears that the ratio, 75:1 is improving somewhat, maybe because of the bad economy?

I think they just call it income but yes you will have to pay. It will be collected when the change in property ownership is done at land office.

Don't remember which of the legal firms that advertise on this website I downloaded from but it should provide a clue as to amount you will owe.

If the Seller is a natural person, you have to look at the income in the schedule of the progressive rate under the Revenue Code of Thailand :-

The method of calculation is like this....

You need to first calculate the amount of tax to be paid under the progressive rate, the gross amount of income will be first deducted by deductible allowance with the percentage according to a number of years the owner owns the land.

1 year 92%

2 years 84%

3 years 77%

4 years 71%

5 years 65%

6 years 60%

7 years 55%

8 years 50%

For example, if you sell the land you own for three years for the price of 4,000,000 baht, you may first deduct the allowance of 71% for the rate of 4 years being 2,840,000 baht. The sales price of 4,000,000 baht deducted by 2,840,000 baht is 1,160,000 baht.

The deducted amount of 1,160,000 baht will be divided by 4 years which has the result of 290,000 Baht.

290,000 baht will be used as the base to calculate the progressive tax rate being :-

0% for the amount not more than 100,000 baht being 0,000 baht

10% for the amount of 190,000 baht being 19,000 baht

The result is 19,000 baht.

The amount of 19,000 baht must be multiplied once again by the number of years the seller owns the land. In this case it was 4 years

The amount of tax to be paid is 76,000 baht.

Its too bad the locally produced Asian brands don't have a low cost equivalent to the Ford Mustang or Dodge Challenger or Camaro even. You are basically stuck with only European imports, which are taxed like a mother f***er.

First of all, the ones that are attracted to Asian women/men are those who live/have long term work contract in Asia. There are cases when old and nice farangs who do not drink excessively and shower on a regular basis find nice and caring Thai women who are maybe in their 30s or 40s and both of them enjoy living together for their mutual benefit. I'm happy for them. These cases might be rare I admit but they do exist.
