  1. £54 flights on skyscanner: https://www.skyscanner.net/transport/flights/bkkt/vtel/?adultsv2=1&cabinclass=economy&childrenv2=&inboundaltsenabled=false&outboundaltsenabled=false&preferdirects=false&rtn=0&qp_prevProvider=ins_browse&qp_prevCurrency=GBP&priceSourceId=&qp_prevPrice=49&oym=2205&selectedoday=25
  2. That's great for people flying from the west, but I'll be flying from the east - Vietnam - so I need an independent insurance policy.
  3. I'm travelling from BKK-SGN-BKK, I believe Etihad & Emirates can't help me with this.
  4. hahahahaha, love it! I can see their point! I can also see their miserable faces sneering at me smiling, enjoying life, happily, thank you. ????
  5. Then there's this, but again, it's SG-based, not sure if outsiders can buy it. https://www.travelguardworldwide.com/content/dam/tg-worldwide/documents/policy-notices/singapore-airlines/sq-policy-wording 17-aug-2020.pdf
  6. There's also this, but I can't find anything useful there, maybe I'm blind, anybody see anything regarding quarantine allowance? https://www.aig.co.th/content/dam/aig/apac/thailand/documents/brochures/tg-inter-extra_28102021_en_form_e-app.pdf EDIT: this seems to be for people leaving Thailand for other countries, so where on earth do we get an AIG policy for foreigners entering Thailand if we're not Americans or Singaporeans?
  7. I was only able to find AIG Singapore who is offering s$100 per day allowance for 'Out-of-country COVID-19 diagnosis quarantine allowance', which isn't much help, but better than nothing, I'm not sure if anybody is able to buy it though, you may need to be in Singapore, I haven't dug deep enough.
  8. Can someone clear something up for me please; If I arrive and they deem me covid positive, do I have the choice of an expensive hotel or can I lay in a hall with the Thais until I'm free of the lurgy?
  9. Thanks, I'd not seen this yet. Does it cover the cost of enforced quarantine should we test positive? It states; 'Coverage starts immediately after clearing immigration in Thailand and include[sp] the period of Alternative Quarantine (AQ), SHA + hotel and sandbox program' That, to me, reads like it does, but if you're not sure, I'll contact them in the morning for clarification.
  10. He said the premium was just B700, I'm assuming the policy was higher, I'm just looking for any policy recommendations at all at the moment!
  11. I'm double-vaccinated, so that's one thing less to worry about... ???? So what policy should I go for? I'm shopping for one right now to accompany my evisa application.
  12. PHEW! Jesus, I just got off the phone to a document notarial business and they told me that if I wanted certified copies of the documents in question, I would need to get those from the issuing authority, so the local govt office that issued my Son's birth certificate, and also the govt office that created my wife's Tabien Baan!! So, on the HCMC Thai consulate website, instead of saying; Certified copy of Thai spouse’s ID card Certified copy of house registration book It should have read; Signed copy of Thai spouse’s ID card Signed copy of house registration book Why can't these places use the correct English? It's not hard to ask a naturally English-speaking person to proof read this stuff! What would we do without you Joe?? You just prevented a meltdown! Thank you eternally!
  13. I'll be visiting Vietnam early next week, I've got two options to obtain a Non-O visa(multiple or single, not sure what's possible yet), one is to apply for an evisa from the Thai Embassy in London, the other is to apply in HCMC Thai Consulate. However, the requirements for the two different places are different, unsurprisingly. HCMC Consulate requires certified copies of Tabien Baan & ID for spouse or child, but The embassy in London just requires copies, as far as I can tell... Has anybody recently obtained a Non-O from HCMC and provided just copies? Or is it a firm rule that the copies have to be certified? I'm waiting to chat with someone on the HCMC consulate website but I wanted to ask here too, just in case they don't respond.
  14. I've been on covid extensions for the last year or so. Current permission of stay ends in just under a week.
  15. I'd previously got my non-o multi's at Sav, and would do so if given the opportunity, I just thought if I could get an evisa it'd mean me not having to do the journey. With regards to the 400k in my bank, is the 40k monthly going into my bank acceptable in this instance? I ask this because I've got more than that coming in from a few businesses I own, but the money arrives every few days, but totalling over 40k per month(and into my Wife's acc because I'm yet to get one).
  16. That's possible, but not my favourite option. So my non-o multi application just needs the money in my bank on the day, but the 12 months extension at the end of the 12 month multi period it'll need to have been there for 2 months already? I'll look in to the agent thing. I've recently been told by an employee at the British embassy that all I need - officially - is a Certified copy of my passport, from the embassy itself, to open a bank account, in reality though, the bank staff can tell me whatever they want, but mostly 'CANNOT'.
  17. I don't have a Thai bank account, I've been unable to find a branch that'll allow me to open an account, they all say the same thing, that not even retirees are allowed to open accounts, let alone a 44 year old Englishman, who is married to a Thai national(16 years ago, 18 years together) with a 17 year old son together... I also don't have 400k to plop in an account even if I did have one.
  18. Jesus Christ. So I've got to submit my application, along with my payment, which is non-refundable, hoping that they are aware of their own mistakes and that they ignore them, and that they use compassion and issue me the visa? I might buy a lottery ticket too. Upon reflection - I suppose I'd prefer to get the dreaded 'CANNOT' sitting here in my home, rather than outside a building I've been queueing at for an hour, and having to do it all over again and again...
  19. Here was a nasty little surprise, right towards the end of the application too! No.11. Requirement for proof of £10,000 in my bank account. That's the end of that route then! I'll give the single entry a go now... EDIT: I just went down the single entry route and exactly the same requirements were necessary. Has anybody here done this and NOT shown £10,000 during the application? I mean, say for example I've got £1,000 in my bank, and I submit that, will they reject it for a single entry application? FURTHER EDIT: I tried applying for a multiple entry tourist visa and here is what I came across; '5 . Financial evidence, e.g. bank statements, proof of earnings, sponsorship letter (current balance not less than 200,000 THB for the past 6 months)' Is this a firm rule? I'd love to hear from anybody who applied for an evisa but didn't have the stated required funds, but sent bank statements anyway - and was issued with a visa.
