Thanks again, and yes I agree, good to cover all bases these days. In the past I've never had an onward flight, and never had large sums of cash with me, in the 20 years I've been in and out of the country, but the risk of being denied entry for something silly would potentially break my family up so I can't risk anything, time is running out though... I feel like a criminal! Ridiculous.

Non O via based on marriage in Singapore?

That's interesting too, so the option on their website is an error? See screenshot below¬ Also, is THB20k or US$700 in my UK bank sufficient? Or does it need to be in a Thai bank account in my name? -

For the financial evidence, I assume you uploaded proof of funds in your bank at approx. 400k or above? I mean, if I showed them my bank statement with less than 400k I would assume they'd refuse the multi and give me the single instead... And yes, I'm British(embarrassingly), so in theory the evisa will work for me. -

This is interesting. I've been getting multi Non-o's for some years, travelling to Savannakhet for years to re-apply for my visa, I quite liked the trip, but obviously in recent years that's been difficult, so I've been getting covid extensions, however, I would much prefer to get a solid visa to reduce my stress levels, could this be my opportunity? I'm married to a Thai National(we have a child together but that's irrelevant here, I think...), I don't have the 400 or 800k in my bank, so could I successfully apply for a Non-Immigrant 'O' Multiple Entry visa via the evisa portal? -

Thai citizen entering Thailand:- Do they need COVID Insurance?
MaiDong replied to JUNEGLOBE's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
We're considering sending our 17 year old Son to the UK during the holidays as his British family hasn't seen him for over 2 years and it's breaking their hearts. He is a Thai national(he also holds a British passport, if that has any relevance), was born here in Thailand & holds a Thai ID card. Upon his return to Thailand, would he be subject to the same possibilities as a foreigner? if he returned Covid positive, would he be sent off to a prison, sorry, Hospitel for expensive nothingness? Or could he simply isolate at home? -
You're right. It's a dilemma I've thought about often though, as ePackets doesn't include insurance(this can be added on for B30), it also doesn't require a signature upon delivery. Whereas Registered Airmail includes insurance and requires a signature, which in the past has given me peace-of-mind. I'm reconsidering using ePackets now though, as the costs have gone up so significantly, and the prices I charge my customers has had to come down.

They are indeed a rip-off, they've increased B70 on a sub-100g package just this year, compared to December prices! Here's a recent post office receipt of mine(ignore the circled item, that was for a UK customer), showing the price of a 72g & 236g small package, the 72g package cost just B290 last year, it's now B360.

Use a small box, don't seal the box with tape, just secure it with string, this is what I've used for many years, thousands of times, and you will be charged the normal price. The reason for this - which was explained to me by post office staff - is that a sealed envelope is classed as a letter, which is priced higher, whereas an unsealed box is classed as a small package, and is priced lower. I've got no idea for the logic behind this, but it works. It may be a relic from the olden days of post offices which has clung on here in this oddball country.

What a very, very odd thing to say. -
What did you do to fix it?

I'll eagerly await a reply to this question. None of the Thai websites I've used are complete, even Lazada is a mess. -

Where I live, there's a few other westerners, maybe 3 or 4 I see regularly. Whilst I'm walking the dog I'll see one of them who likes to walk around barefoot, we acknowledge each other with a nod and a smile, another who is a recent arrival and seems to 'wai' at everything that moves, but completely ignores my existence, and another, whom when we cross paths, makes an angry face, looks up to the sky and stomps several paces in front of his embarrassed looking young girlfriend(she's friendly). I've never initiated a conversation with any of these people, but I do look their way, and if they want to say hello, I will too. I don't look odd, or strange, or desperate, just a normal looking person, dressed in normal clothes, walking my dog to 7eleven, it just seems that there's a complete reluctance to even acknowledge other westerners here, and when there's only a few of us around here, I find that odd. I don't need them to be my friend, I don't need anything from them, I'm just being polite, as I was taught to be. -
Crash helmet is too tight around the jaw...
MaiDong replied to MaiDong's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
Excellent, thank you, HJC will be the first helmet we try in the shop, it wouldn't have been my first choice to try, so your recommendation may have saved me half an hour of farting around with other helmets. -

Yes, that's exactly what I've said I'm going to do in my OP and in reply to some other posters, but also in my OP I was asking if anybody here has had similar problems with their spouses crash helmets, and what helmets they found that fitted 'local' face shapes. -

I was just referring to another posters suggestion, I wouldn't hack away at the protection I just paid for. -

Another good point! Phew, I thought I was going to have to repeat myself a dozen times for some other replies... I just looked at the liner and it can indeed be modified, and wifey is handy with a needle so I'll suggest that to her, thanks! All it takes is a little brainstorming ???? -

This is a good point, and yes, it's her first full face helmet. She's a tough little thing so if after several hours use it still doesn't feel right, it's time to move on to another helmet.
