I got a second hand vtec Jazz like it alot, however if i were about to buy new car I'd wait for one of the all new versions of either the Camry, Stream, Corrolla, Accord all due this year.

at least this sends a message out to the thai public that sometimes when they rip a falang off they do get punished.

my experience is that many working girls carry blades, used for cutting up tin foil and fighting, I presume their boyfriends are even more tooled up.

assume any argument in thailand can end in a fatality, there's no physical fight a falang can win here.

Honda are hyping the power outputs of both 1.8 and 2.0 versions yet no published 0-60 times ? Power to weight ratios are good combine that with 5 speed auto box and I would expect a sub 8 for the 2.0.

Just took a look at the new Civic, seats are a little on the narrow side for western men. Leather seemed a little plasticky, no sunroof even as an option. Estimated delivery was late January. Rear legroom was even ok with front seats all the way back.

everytime i try to access the www.ilovecivic.com site it takes me to the old 2004 site, cleared my cache figuring it to be the problem but it doesn't help, if i access via proxy i get the new 06 site but the proxy doesn't support flash which the site uses.

Is everyone in thailand having this problem or is it just dtac gprs users ?

Could someone visit the site and post a list of all the colours the 06 civic is available in ?

it's not easy to get a truly secure deposit box in Pattaya, forget the banks most are not interested or full, leaving the private places & hotels and there's always the risk of an employee helping themselves. ( despite claims to the contrary the box keys can be duplicated )

What is it with all these people travelling with huge amounts of cash?  Haven't they heard of banks?

FEAR has been out in the "usual"places for more than a week now

I just finished it over the weekend and had a great time - it is very atmospheric and the firefights are the best I've played.

Best FPS since HL2 but the most demanding specs for a game ever - even more than Battlefield 2. With your specs you might be ok on lowest settings. You'd need a geforce 6600 just for medium I'd wager

Now playing Quake 4 but it's so boring compared to FEAR - sure Quake looks nice but the enemy AI just rushes at you or does a simple sidestep. None of the AI working together to flush you out like in FEAR

The best Vet I've found is in Naklua ( can't remember the name ) it's on the main road coming from the roundabout way past all the beer bars etc. However living in jomtien it's not very practical as I transport my animals by bike. Most of the time I use the Pattaya Animal Hospital opposite the Naval School and mosque on Pattaya Tai ( the road friendship supermarket is on ) about 100m past the soi korpai turnoff. The vets are a husband and wife team, the husband speaks near perfect english but isn't there all the time.

Where did you read about the first few k of Focuses being discounted ?

The prices I've seen listed didn't state if they were for hatch or sedan version.

If you want a saloon I'd wait for the new civic 2006 model, if a hatch go with the Focus or Mazda3. As japan doesn't seem to be getting the new civic hatch I doubt thailand will either.

The Mazda 3 is a nice looking car - I can't afford a decent one though - so That's why I've got the top of the range Solluna.  The mazda is exactly the same underneath as the Ford Focus - which is out in the next few months. 

Had I known I could buy a Focus for virtually the same price as my Solluna I'd have waited.  The Focus is going to be on special offer for the first couple of thousand units and is a total bargain - it's the best selling car in the UK by a mile.  It's going to start at around 750,000 for the 1800c.

The guy installing keyloggers in Pattaya and stealing funds from peoples' accounts is a gentleman by the name of Robert Matache, he got me for close on $20k :-( This may however be a false name used for the bank account only as thai immigration claimed there was no-one in the country at the time by that name.

He was spotted recently ( a year since i lost the $ ) in Big C accessing the logs and I'm told he's about 6ft overweight with very large ears and black hair.

bought it on wedensday, the level of thai is a real pain, even in game menus and mission breifings are in thai. I've had a thai look for a langauge option menu but they couldn't find one.

I use gprs so won't be playing online, single player it's pretty boring more so than the first battlefield or vietnam versions. Also seems impossible to change the number of bots on your team, used to love playing alone gainst a 32 bot enemy on older versions.

I'm running p4 3.2ht with a 6600gt gfx card and it runs only just fast enough at 1024*768

Just read that the current Jazz is due for replacement worldwide in 6 months. New model will be slightly larger. New Civic is also due soon perhaps you might want to wait for that instead.

Jazz looks great ( even in white which is hard to do ), both the City and Soluna are rather ugly.

Don't forget the added cost of leather re-trim and 17" rims.
