Where I am, Netflix allows you to download shows and movies to watch later offline. I assume you can do the same.
That is what I do. I download Netflix at the public library in the daytime and play it back at night as I have no wifi. It is super easy - at least in the USA.

Yes, Alan Batey opened the 'Overlander Bar' after his lease was up in the older 'Lovebirds Bar' (mid/late 80's.) The Spotlight was there at least before the mid 80's as well as Karen Hut, Las Vegas etc.,
Alan Baily, I'm pretty sure and Spotlight was on the other side of the moat, a few blocks down.

Saigon is kicking. Hanoi is cultured but closed at 10.30. Danang. I'd like to go but I know it wont be like pattaya. Let's face it. For pattaya, better or worse. Theres no place like it.
I haven't been for awhile, but Vung Tow was known as the Pattaya of Vietnam back when I lived in Hanoi - lots of sex workers on the beach and such.

They started selling chewable antacid-Calcium Carbonate at pharmacies in LOS a few years ago (very cheaply). I'm guessing they still do. I much prefer Tums and Rolaids, but the Thai stuff is better than nothing. Before that, I could not get it in Thailand and had friends bring Tums from the USA.

"Possible to get real baguettes or other quality crusty daily baked bread in CM?"
"I've had no luck finding this in 3 SE Asian countries so far including Thailand.
Real bread without sugar , dairy, fungicides, preservatives, daily baked, and with a crust, not a squishy loaf."
Try Vietnam, Laos & Cambodia.

And this one:
IMHO, silly story, but GREAT music. Stick to the soundtrack.

Chicken fried steak is ALWAYS beef. Chicken fried steak with chicken is an alternative - cheaper - version.

I worked every single day for 16 years and still loved the place. However, it was my own business, which makes a big difference.

In London you rarely see black girls with white men.
Same in the USA. Plenty of white/Asian couples though - the model minority.

Just watched 2 seasons of Ozark and really enjoyed it.
The bad news is Terrarium TV has closed down. What a resource that was.

Not at all impressed with Westworld season 2. Season 1 was pretty good but season 2 just draaaaaaaaaaaags on and on IMO. The endless flashbacks coupled with the dreary and overly long 'deep and meaningful' monologues trotted out by the lead characters at every opportunity (and way too often) just make this a season I wish I hadn't bothered with.
It was bad enough after the first couple of episodes but I persevered with it hoping it would improve, it didn't. Each episode could easily have been 30 minutes shorter (and would still likely be too long and boring). Episode 8 was by far the most boring, I dread a new character being introduced, you just know your'e gonna get 1-2 hours devoted to their back-story at some stage! It's as if this season moved away from the rather interesting general story / park theme of season one that was heading somewhere. Having arrived there season 2 is more devoted to probing at greaaaaaaaat length and in minute (and boring as hell) detail of what's in the 'mind' of these robots, taking an hour per character. Won't be venturing into season 3 that's for sure; a season to be endured rather than enjoyed IMO. I can do deep and meaningful, just not dreary and dull ????

Coke from Mexico uses real sugar. In the USA it is high fructose corn syrup instead - definitely a different taste.

They're your employees, yet again a sign of weakness.
You gonna buy them fireworks at NY as well?
Nothing wrong with treating employees well. However, make sure they deserve and appreciate it.

But stay away from Kru Oranoot!... She was a brutal (but excellent) Ajahn!?
I'm guessing that is the same one that was teaching there around 30 years ago when I learned Thai. It K. Malee still there? She raised exotic cats with her farang husband (Ed?).

I never had a pork-chop in Thailand that tasted like the real thing (in America). They tasted like pork, but without the unique taste that pork-chops have at home.

Just like the Thailand-hating expats on this forum. I hardly ever meet people like this in real life.

One thing I do not understand though is how everything is more expensive there in general, yet they have a weaker and poor economy / people. Rent, food, and general living seems to be more pricyLaos has to import a lot of things from Thailand. They do not produce much themselves.

Thai Visa Poster of the Year Nancy L. and her husband pretty much fit the bill, although they could be a little younger. They might not bother with a car though. I think they have a local driver.
