Funnily enough I,m in Samui at this time (first ever visit) and I have yet to see/feel any racism towards westerners....perhaps my attitude to Thai folks is different to yours :whistling:

Just cause you either dont recognize it or havent experienced it yet doesnt give you the 'all knowing best atitude' crown..(added pointless smartass emoti?)...hey but slagging on someone with a legit issue is fun right?

He now has his 15 minutes of fame on TV. WhupDeeDoo.

Can we move on from this bore?

Hilarious, you are posting multiple times in a thread about someone you consider a bore and then to be pleading for others to join you...?...

As to Biggs, hes certainly made his mark here, I wonder if his "public personality" has taken over his normal one and hes "on" all the time..

its incredibly banal that someone reads then posts in a thread they consider garbage.

its really quite funny to see

dont give a F? simple, dont post in the thread,

but no we have plenty of these

obvious "have no life" posting in them

strange at best a bannable insult at worst..

Yes I agree with the OP, it seems they go out of their way to hire the least best shop clerks they can find

I saw once a statistic the the most rain is measured in the province of Trat.

Nice place, BTW, nice people, no industry, only farming and fishing.

Some tourism on Kho Chang. Avoid.

Yes it sits in a rain shadow, ime..

I know someone who spent a few years riding around Thailand to find the coolest place to live, not most rain nor up very high and built his house there

I think that players are a lot stronger now than they were in the 60s and 70s, full time athletes in body contact sports working out daily usually build up a bit of muscle.

They have the capacity to really hurt each other.

You cant objectively compare eras, the game has changed and is more athletic and faster

better conditioned, yes, better trained and managed yes

right across the whole team yes, but there were plenty of players with plenty of strength back in those days.

    a lot stronger? no way

my father played reserve grade, was captain coach of a local team, also a professional swimmer and captain of the local RLSC, he didnt lack for strength or fitness.

plus you had to know how to fight and/or take whacks

I am an American. I use to live in upstate New York in snow, and cold country. Every year we have springtime pothole season.

All the technology in the world can not stop Mother Nature. Everybody fighting Mother Nature will eventually lose.

Quit the complaining. Go back home to your country if you don't like it.

Your home country is loosing the battle with Mother Nature just as my home country is.

    Water destroys rock.

Things are done differently here and Thailand cannot afford all these expensive road bases, and rebar, and your other complaint filled items. I LOVE THAILAND. Love it or leave it.

the rose color makes everything lovely

    and lol

that over played lame and pointless "go home if you dont like it"

get  back   to     us      when       you         have             been            here                 longer                     than                         5 mins

Soi dogs can be very smart and a friend.  When I moved here, I lived on a really small soi in a room that faced the yard with my own entrance - 1 step and smal concrete area.  l became friends with a female soi dog who ended up being a self appointed guard dog for me at night. She would plant herself at the foot of my steps around 9PM to sleep, and if anyone came close to my entrance, she woruld  give a 1 bark warning, exception being someone that she knew visited me.  If I left the soi in daytime she would walk me to the end of the soi, when I came back would come greet me. If I went to the 7-11 late night, she would go with me.

Good reason to feed a soi dog

thats not a soi dog that was your dog, that you then apparently abandoned.

      that says what?

I've five rescued soi dogs, all from a local dog shelter - they are my best friends, in fact they are my only friends. Give me Thai dogs any day over the poor quality of expats here. With the dogs, I know I'm loved, I get welcomed home when I go out and if I'm feeling unhappy all five do their furry best to comfort me.

They don't drink themselves stupid, they're not misogynists or abusers, they don't think Trump's the answer to the mess the world's in or lie about their activities when I'm not around. Perfect!

    Good for you but

Any dog anywhere wants to be fed,

I can stick food under the nastiest most aggressive dog a few times and it will be my bestest friend.

  10. Fingers on the clutch 100%....

Not neccessarily. There is old school and new skool.

Old school, is pre 65 and twin shocks, heavier bikes, more low down torque, heavier flywheels for more traction, less "trick" riding, no hopping etc.

New skool is the opposite, and yes you'll be using the clutch constantly.

Me - i'm too old a dog to learn new tricks. Plus a lot of that new stuff scares me.

The Bulto and Monty pictured in your post above - check out YouTube footage of that era. Once in a section, nobody has got fingers anywhere near a clutch lever. They did'nt need to.

Now go and watch something current of Tony Bou et al or even Dougie Lampkin from 15 years ago - it's constant one finger on the clutch action. They need to.

Yes thats true, just its better to develop good habits instead of bad, very hard to change once they set in, as per my post, I know its better but I still have to force myself to stand up. but it would seem p a is not interestedunsure.png

  11. Assuming there is a shared, singular, all-encompassing, one-size-fits-all Thai mentality is part of your problem.

Start thinking of Thais, as you would of individual people in your home country, as individuals.

If someone in your home country says or does something quirky, you don't immediately think of what they did or said as farang mentality. Even in Thailand we all know rational, normal farangs despite the depressing impression of "farang mentality" one could take away from reading so many posts on TV.

How come you are never in these threads defending "thainess" or as you want when it suits, the "diverseness of thainess"?

    http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/925446-dsi-suspends-search-of-wat-dhammakaya-after-encountering-resistance-from-followers/

Predictable, which is what the generalizations about 'Thais" are here.

  12. A California fishing license for non residents costs about five times as much a license for California residents so I guess the state has the right to be "racist" even if you do not.

    You guys crack me up.

the locals get a subsidised licence or ticket because they pay taxes there, if farangs pain taxes in Thailand they should also pay the subsidised price but if they don't they should pay a higher price

I dont see why the argument, it is really a very simple issue. When I go to a zoo in Thailand I don't complain that I have to pay more , my taxes did not build the facility.

To put it in a different way, Thais are part owners, why should part owners pay the same price as non owners, they already paid when they paid their taxes.? If they pay the same at the gate they will actually be paying more.

My government paid for the "friendship bridge" Thailand to Lao"

You know its funny they were my taxes yet I still have to pay.

Pray tell why do I still have to pay?

Can you explain that one away? I am after all "a part owner"

The cost was about £19 million, funded by the Australian government as development aid
  13. The OP here seriously needs to take his head out. Its a scam, plain as day. Why do they price farang prices in English, and then Thai prices in Thai script? What are they hiding? And what do they charge half-Thais? It is unfair, callous, uneducated, and derogatory to charge a fee based simply on the color of your skin/hair. And, look around. Are the fees really paid to upkeep the parks? Be real. Koh Samet is a dump. All the extra fees go straight into pockets. And, Thailand is not "cheap." It is an industrialized country with a high standard of living due to the massive foreign investment western countries ploughed in. This is Mercedes Benz' second largest market in the world. Duh.

Yes the OP seems to think every Thai is a dirt poor farmer on clapped out Best, fact is most Thais visiting said parks are often as, or more well off than many farangs living here.....He'd know that if he actually went to them, and thats the joke here.

But lets not get in the way of his "fantasies" about living among the poor, wretched and downtrodden driving their 2015 forts or mercs to the parks.
