Actually not really. Like I said I feel for the op, terrible story. Thais make crap western food the service is average more often than not, and this proves it. I doubt very much the manager would have killed anybody over a hamburger. Whats next, he grinds up his victims into meat patties? The op wasnt bashed, just slapped a bit and told to go away, I wouldnt have waited as long as the op did to start for a dumb hamburger worth 50baht. Another page in the lakorn of Pattaya.

1) There are Thais cooking world class western food as we speak. There are even more Thais cooking western food on a par with any decent restaurant in the west. Your generalization is absurdly broad and inevitably inaccurate. (If you are making your declaration based on your experience in Pattaya beer bars...think about it.)

2) Service ranges from abysmal to world class. Again if you think you have a basis to assess from your experience in Pattaya bars...

3) The story - even if we knew for a fact it was 100% accurate and truthful, proves nothing of the sort. It would prove only something about that bar.

4) I doubt he would have killed him either. I don't even know that he actually did threaten him - but if he did, the threat itself is more than excessive in response to a reasonable complaint about food.

5) Bashed" or not, slapped AND punched is assault.

6) I wouldn't have waited even half that time. It's just one more thing I find...remarkable about the story.

as i said before we could not cancel the food,we had to pay for it anyway.

i belive he would have killed me as much as the staff who told him i go in the place and cause a problem many times.

sure alot of people would have left the place before ,we are all different.

he had to dig me to not lose face in front of his staff.this is a thai thing i never will understand.mai pen rai.

i wish we did leave but we could not cancel the food and they kept saying 5 minutes.

we live and learn ,i bet the place is full tonite.

the thing we was served was a bit more than 50 baht lol.

anyone recommend a nice place to watch the football tonite,not bothered about the food ,as will be having the seafood buffet at the hilton

Wow. In a truly bizarre incident (as described), for complaining about receiving -- after waiting FOR AN HOUR -- frozen food with foreign matter in it, a group of guys physically force you by your neck into a locked room and assault you and menace you to a degree where you are (understandably) afraid -- but that's not the primary issue and the place is OK except for the "food slip up".

Given that a number of popular bars on 2nd road that show football are owned by the police in Pattaya or have a police partner this might not be such a good idea.

i dont know about you but i dont get someone saying there going to kill me everyday if i complain about the food because some staff messed up and because of loss of face this sort of thing happens.

ive worked all over the world and this loss of face hang up only happens here,maybe you have a very exciting life and this sort of thing happens to you every day
