This fee comes to $4.42 to  $8.83 USD.

if a person can’t afford that they shouldn’t be traveling anywhere.  They should be staying home.  And probably should be evaluating their own financial situation.

    You better do the math again. 1,000 B = US $ 29.24 @ 34.2 B/ $.

If you think it's so little money, can you pay the fee for me please. Thank you very much.

  2. Feb. 8, 2023 update.

Scroll back to my Dec 18, 2022 post for the detailed visa run/border bounce.

Yesterday, Feb. 8th, 2023 I had three days left on my 2nd 60-day METR. Went to Chiang Khong again but this time things went a bit different at the Laos Visa on Arrival window. When asked how long I plan to stay, I said' 'Go back to Thailand today''.

The good; No need to fill out the two-page application or submit a photo. They seem to know the situation well by now with visa runs.

The Bad; he said ''I give you stamp in, stamp out quickly, 1,800 B''. Would not take US $. He took my 2,000 B, pulled out his wallet, gave me 200 B change, put the 2,000 B in his wallet and put his wallet back in HIS pocket. I don't think Laos immigration actually got paid the standard set 1,500 B fee. Even if they did, the officer pocketed 300 B. just for doing his job. My feeling is he pocketed the entire 1,800 B. Grift!

One other good thing, I was able to buy Lao Dark beer at 30 B and bring back to Thailand.

I hope I never have to go back there for any reason.

No problem getting 60 more days in Thailand on my METR.

You had a METV, why you paid?

I did a borderrun on a METV in Wang Prachan and there was no payment to make.

It shouldnt be, as you already paid all in the price for an METV.

Or did you have to pay to get in Laos? I thought only Myanmar you must buy a visa and Laos and Malaysia dont, visa on arrival. Malaysia for sure, as i did.

Out and in Thailand in 30 minutes. Also got a TM6.

$40.00 US was for Laos Visa on arrival. No other option at Chiang Khong/Huay Xai. Not free.

  4. December 13, 2022 Update.

Tuesday I went to Chiang Khong on a Border/VISA Run.

Free parking on left side just before the guard shack.

Exit Thailand with 4 days left on my METV. ( Multiple entry tourist visa) Buy a bus ticket , 20 B to Laos immigration, Visa on arrival.

Two pages of Laos visa application, one passport photo and 20 B fee. (grift)

Next window, get an entry stamp.

Next window pay $40.oo US, or 1,500 B. Enter Laos.

U-turn, exit Laos. Nothing said about same day exiting.

Buy a 25 B bus ticket to Thailand immigration. Had to wait about 1/2 hour. Beer Lao for sale at the bus stop. 25 & 30 B.

Had to fill out TM 6 card and show address in Thailand. The officer made many odd faces as he processed my visa. He did not look happy, but gave me another 60 days.

Walk back to parking lot, check the time, 3 hours and 20 mins. Way too long, but possible.

    Total cost $40.00 US plus 65 B.

Wishing Mai Sai will open soon. Only $10.00 and 15 mins there.

This is my maintenance program for CBR250R.

Lube the chain every 500 kms. Clean and lube the chain as needed.

Change the oil and filter every 5,000 KMs.

Replace the Air filter every 15,000 Kms or so. As needed.

Brake pads last about 40,000-60,000 KMs. Depends on how many Track Days.

Replaced the chain and sprockets @ 77,000 KMs. Still had plenty of adjustment left. Could go 90,000- 100,000 KMs.

Fork seals and fork oil done at 65,000 kms.

Spark plug replaced once @ 40,000 kms. Spent extra on newer Iridium plug. Maybe time to check it again.

Replaced the Battery several times. Thailand heat is not friendly to batteries.

Replaced the clutch cable once. Around 70,000 Kms.

And new tires as needed. Currently running Michelin Pilot Street Radials with 31,000 KMs. Nearly down to the wear mark and will be replaced. Love these tires.

The valve clearances checked once at 36,000 Kms. Don't remember if I changed the shims. Have to look it up.

That's about it. The engine has never been apart other than a valve check. Original piston and rings.

These little 24 HP CBRs are a real blast to ride and VERY cheap to maintain. The best Bang for the Baht for me.

The only modification done is installed twin horns on a relay. The dogs do take notice. 555.

    Hope this helps.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention. I change out the coolant and DOT 4 every 2-4 years also.
