Thanks for your answer Mario2008.
I don't dare to call and ask fearing their answer will be no
I did call them last week but forgot to mention I was not US resident.
Just stated what documents I carried with me and they said ok.
So I'll take my chances and drop in and give it a try wearing my best "please accept my application-puppy eyes" face.
They don't seem to asnwer emails anymore for some reason.
I'll post the outcome after my visit.
As long as you have the corect paperwork it shouldn't matter which nationality your are. If you want to be sure, email them.Only a very few nationalities have to apply for a visa the embassy/consulate in their own country and can't get it any where else.

Hello all,
Any Non-US that have been issued a visa by them after 2007?
I am going there to apply for a new Non-O based on marriage, November 20. I have the marriage license translated into English and the Thai original with me + all other supporting documents.
I have been issued Non-O's there three times before. That was before 2007.
I have US visa and work for US company based in Miami.
I am Swedish.
Anyone?
Thanks.

Thanks all for the valuable info.
As I am working abroad and only need to stay 2-3 months at each time (away same lenght of time), is it possible to get an multiple entry extension as well?
Or do I need to have a re-entry permit each time?
If a re-entry permit is necessary each time, it will cost 1900 Baht each time I believe...
Thanks again.

I have a non immigrant O visa due to expire in October.
Rumors here (Pattaya) say that you can renew it here at the immigration office?
Anyone done it or know if it is a fact?
My visa is based on marriage and kids.
Any information is greatly appreciated.

Forgot to update this...
The Honda dealer managed to get me an english version of the GPS two months ago.
Now all streets are written in English as well..
As for the spelling - yes it is a bit different but you will manage to find the location by just enter the first and second letter of location you are looking for.

Relax, get a life of worries of other things...
'Surface to air missiles' can take down passenger planes.I don't care what anybody says, I do NOT want some mercenary bastards
selling these things on the free market to Al queda and their friends.
That is an interesting dilemma. US and European governments have been and are doing exactly what Victor has done, selling arms to various guerilla groups and governments. For more, the West has by force installed right-wing brutal dictators in Southern America, in Iraq AND in Iran. The hel_l with democracy and the will of the people. The biggest weapons dealers are USA and then EU on this planet. USA has de facto MERCENARY army. This is classic case of "do as we say, not as we do".
Even Osama is seen as a freedom fighter among some Muslims. He wants US troops out of Saudi-Arabia. There Americans support very brutal "government" which uses religion and modern American weapons (like Apache helicopters) to put down everybody daring to question their power. Beheadings and stoning to death as punishment methods. Even Saddam Hussein was not that hard against Iraqis. How is that in any way fair and decent thing to do?
Yes is certainly IS a dilemma...
and I don't approve of ANY of these arms transactions as such.
The CIA has done all sorts of harm out there, it has done some good too.
But the 'residual byproducts' often come back to haunt all of us.
Hindsight is ALWAYS 20/20.
Osama and Taliban being classic examples.
Regardless of the governmental stupidities this guy Bout shouldn't be in this business.

Yes I thought it was a bit strange too, but anyway. They do love paperwork in this country.
My GPS have both languages too but streets etc. are in Thai.
Spelling is not important, as you may browse through different options if you just enter the first and maybe second letter.
I know the Honda Accord has a complete English setting from the factory and I thought it was strange that the CRV did not.

Got a CRV Prestige and was not aware of that the navigator did not support streets etc in English language.Yes, you can switch language settings to English but the streets are still written in Thai.
I talked to my Honda dealer and they said that they would ask the factory for the english "card".
Not sure they will manage this as it seemed too complicated (had to give them passport copies etc.???).
Any one know if it is possible to arrange by my self?
Thanks
Personally think the dealer is blowing smoke up your a*se....why would he need a copy of your passport..
My GPS has both languages and dont hold out too much hope if you do get an English version as the spellings of the name places vary, Eg Pattaya vs Phattaya...so you have to know how the somebody has spelled the name of place in English...

Went back with original boxes, receipt and even plastic bag.
Asked (polite) to change the items or at least to have the missing items.
Manager said - why you not come when you buy? I said - well it was xmas gift and not supposed to be opened same day I buy, you wrapped it for that purpose.
Manager went away and called her manager...
Came back and said - We change everything for you
I'm happy and kids even happier

WARNING!!
Beware of Toys R us in Pattaya!
Bought plentiful of Xmas gifts there and found that 4 of the items bought had missing items in them.
The boxes were stripped!!!
Spent almost 8000 baht there and you could image the dissapointed children, not being able to assemble their gifts becuse of this
I will surely let them know about this!
If you ever buy anything there - open the box an let them check that everything is there!

Just got in touch with a friend leving Thailand for work. Flight is cancelled and they are re-locating the passengers to a hotel in BKK. I guess all outbound flights are off for now.

Legendx,
As I believe this is a local "ship" and not a foreign flagged one, all mail is most probably sent to the Captains home adress.
I do not believe the crew are living onboard but go and come morning/afternoon/evening and therefore having an adress to the ship sound a bit overkill.
I would suggest trying to find out the crew member name and adress. Ships adress will surely not work.
If it is a foregin ship, mail is generally forwarded onboard through an agent.
Good luck

NYC-BKK with Cathay Pacific is good
NYC-BKK with Korean was good too - new inflight entertainment system + seats
BKK-MIA BA/Qantas Very good buisness seats and service
Emirates - short haul BKK-HKG sucked!! Never use tham again. Heard they are better on long haul.
Scandinavian (SAS) very poor service but good economy extra seats
Finnair - Very poor. Old jets etc. etc

Quite funny to read this topic and on the same day read this header in Pattaya Daily news:

The Lobster Pot on Walking St always makes a good show of it. All done at your table, boiling the sugar, flaming the whiskey, bells ringing etc. Nice way to finish off a meal, and entertaining too.
Very good!

Where I come from, public play ground swings are made of a wooden frame where the swing it self is attached. The swings are made by old tyres and attached to the wood frame by means of chains. Will last forever..
Very nice of you to do this. Have been looking for a play ground to go with my kid for a long time but they are of a very poor quality and neglected.
Where will this play ground be located?

We are in the process of building a playground on 1 Rai of land in Pattaya City. We have leveled all the land, walled it and put seats etc for people to sit on.... Only problem I have now is finding playground equipment such as swings, roundabouts, seesaws, etc, etc... Any idea if someone sells or manafactures such stuff around Pattaya? As this is a free place for kids around Pattaya to play I don't want to over spend but obviously want something safe and strong enough to last a few years. Thanks i advance for any ideas. -
Poll, so far, showing that mid 90s is when many of us came, liked and preferred the town...
Still ok but...
-
I seriously still like it alot.
But I'm getting somehat worried that the infrastructure of the city is collapsing.
There are huge condos, malls etc. being built but with existing roads which can't take the load of traffic into these new built areas.
There should be more careful planning I think before any multiplexes are being built.
Liked the 90's very much and still like it very much but the traffic congestions are getting mad nowadays.
Thanks for all inputs - interesting
Edh
Pattaya is changing from being just a small party city by the sea to a hectic, traffic congested, polluted, stressful, dangerous and very rough city. What period of time did you enjoy Pattaya City the most?
Mid - Late 70's ... Only three major Hotels. 4 - 5 drive to Bangkok over a goat track.
Mid - Late 80's ... Lots of Hotels ... 3-4 hours drive to Bangkok and then another 2 hours to the Airport !
(remember the urine bags you could buy in the taxi's)
Now ... It's just fine ... 2 hours over so so roads ... But why no opinion from the OP ?.
Naka.
I think it's getting better and better. More opportunities, more and better infrastructure, malls, schools, hospitals, easier to get whatever you want. I agree with sweetchariot for a change and think the OP sound like an old nostalgic. If you like Pattaya in the seventies I'm sure you can find plenty of places like it down the coastline - if necessary into Cambodia.

Honda will change/update the software so that the street/town names appear in English if you ask them.
Did this on my CRV Prestige with factory installed GPS.
