  1. Greetings.

I have been reading all horrible stories about teeth here and now only want those who have been on these two hospitals doing dental work.

Question is simple, which one would you go to again?

  2. Might be off topic but..

Just came back to Thailand from work and found that true (UBC) menu is all in thai after the switch.

Anyone know how or if it is possible to have English menu?

    Thanks! :o

  3. Funnily enough, it was neither a lottery nor humiliating for my husband and I when we applied after we first got married. Oddly enough, we were both quite young, I had no job in the US, had just finished University and we planned on living with my parents and getting it was no huge difficulty. Lots of paperwork, yes, but eventually, because we qualified and my husband had no criminal record, it came through.

I often wonder how many people who have difficulties find they do so because they don't actually qualify?

Maybe so, sbk, and you were both fortunate.

The USA is not the same USA anymore since you married and that was quite some time ago. But you know better than me.

The US has become an unfriendly country to visit. The number of tourists is in sharp decline and even the number of business visitors is going down.

I read an article that the US ministry of tourism is talking now with Disney about HOW to stop this trend... :D

Not so long ago many Europeans were visiting the US for a holiday...not anymore.

I always enjoyed visiting the US untill some 10-12 years ago; I even built my own business in SF/California but it's no fun anymore since people do NOT enjoy handing over all their private information to the US authorities and waiting in line for hours once arriving at the airport(s) greeted by unfriendly customs/passport authorities asking (again) so many questions.

    Sad but true.

    LaoPo

What does a tourism decline in the US have to do with obtaining a visa? What role does Walt Disney play in the issuing of visas? What do new European holiday trends have to do with US visas? What does you thinking that the US is "no fun anymore" have to do with US visa policies??

Both you and the OP have obtained the visas that you're complaining it's too hard to obtain... was the paperwork THAT difficult?

BTW, there is no Ministry of Tourism in the US.

and customs officials are not meant to be friendly.

    Sad but true.

    :D

  4. Hans,

    Any further info? :o

Mr Hans, I was informed reliably the B200,000 your friend paid was bail and it should have only been B100,000 that is why she begrudgingly returned it..What was the fine he paid in court??

No fine in the court because; as you can see from this thread: the case never went to the court.

And as you can also read from this thread: Kid paid 200 000, got a receipt of 100 000, and after contacting the captain, was returned 100 000.

    It's all in this thread.

I will keep this thread updated as soon as I can. Just now it's not the time...

  5. I am a month older than Sriracha John :D

    But posted far less :o

Hey guys, relax. He is convicted and we'll see when he get out.

Somehow I don't believe he will spend all five in same place ((just to spare his life - even if he was a mercenary soldier (spelling?))

Hey TROPO and SRIRACHA JOHN,......I'm curious......are you guys having fun yet ?
  6. Have not been treated for ingrown toenails myself, but I guess any of Pattys hospitals are able to take care of this minor problem. I believe most of the clinics are able as well.

My wife go and see a pedicure specialist, they take care of the problem without any surgery.

Sorry - do not know wich one she goes to.... :o

  7. Ok, I see. Well not what I meant.

I guess she would have been easily identified by all her tats, but as story tells nobody know her whereabots from the beginning, only speculations..

when I say covered in tats, i mean literally.

  8. Went over with a group of 12 people last week, from jomtien police box. Cost 3000. 250/head.

Arranged day before, pick up at 10AM and transfer back at 5PM (beach of your choice).

I do not know if this is a good price or not, I know it was cheaper a year ago, but so was gasoline. :o

There is a smaller and cheaper one and of course the "big" one wich seats a full bar if you like.

    Good luck

  9. I'm off working just before X-mas/New Year :o ....

Keep away from city center if you don't want any missing limbs - they (meaning almost all people) are carrying huge "bombs" ready to throw at you.

Be safe, stay away from city if possible. Hotel should work I guess.

Last year I was at a safe distance (behind Carrefour) at my friends place, excellent view of the shore fireworks and without any eardrums blown away.

I will seeing the new year home safe away from the thai nut cases with fireworks throwing them at any passerbys feet.
  10. It will get worse. Belive me with all the new View Talays and Robinsons and whatever being planned and already being constructed.

There will be a huge number of more vehicles in the city after completion.

They should re-locate all big malls/supermarkets/ordinary markets to the other side of highway No. 7 (viewed from the sea) in order to reduce city traffic.

And they could also try to complete the highway next to Regents School, so that we could get rid of all traffic going to Sattahip through Pattaya Sukhumwit.

But that is only my thinking. I bet there are a lot smarter hired people taking care of the infrastructure in Pattaya :o

  11. Advertising allowed suddenly??

After a longtime waited....Club Insomnia has awakened

Opened on the 24-11-06 - pattaya gave birth to a new club. A clubbers club

I went down on the opening night and was totally amazed.

Very good priced drinks, like all beer for 95BHT

nice coyotees, tell you what, it cheaper than marine and the music, well check it out

This is the place to be....

Boyz and Girls let me know because i feel i like a in ibiza....do you

  12. Probably not, many tattoed girls, some small and discrete, some more eye catching.

Reading the story (here on TV) I would not guess he picked her up at Marine disco, rather before W-street. But that's me thinking too mut too mut.... :o

I've only been in patters a few times but one sight that sticks in my mind was a girl I saw in marine covered in tats. wonder if this is the girl in question.

  13. Just before the intersection Pattaya Thai and Third Road, about 50 meters before the intersection (coming from Sukhumwit) It is a large two way soi and the shop it self is a old gold shop?! :o on your left hand side abt. 50 meter up the soi from Pattaya Thai.

Have not seen them selling any gold there but anyway, just go in and you will see a cashier at the back of the shop.

    Good luck

Thanks a lot for your tips! :D

Where is Soi Ruang situated edh?

  14. They are charging same prices as they did before - meaning Don Muang.

Be careful, from Pattaya you were able to go to the "old" airport with a crappy taxi (probably drunk driver as well :o ) for 800, toll not included (approx. 150 Baht) and now they still charge you same price with same drunk driver with no clue of which way to go to the "new" AP....

    Lovely, Isn't It?

  15. Jingthing,

Buy at different butcher shops and try your way.

Have found that both Foodland and local markets sometimes have same quality strange enough, but huge difference in price :o .

Meat looks good at Foodland as it is packed, at a butcher shop it looks a bit more "raw".

Still buy from both, depending on who's coming by for a steak :whistling

Frankly, I love steak, and Thailand is not the best place for steak lovers.

I certainly cannot afford many visits to the overpriced Manhattans steakhouse, so what are the best sources for buying the raw beef flesh from markets?

So far, Foodland looks promising as they seem to stock some Aussie cuts. Last year I saw some Argie cuts there, but no more, what happened? Some of the other markets have sometimes have some strange, brownish, looking stock. And what is this "hybrid" stuff? I am interested in Aussie, NZ, and decent quality Thai beef, US and Argie too but I don't think there is any in Pattaya. Any sources you have had good or bad luck with? One I know about is Yorkies Pork Pies in Jomtien which offers Thai beef steaks from French stock.

  16. Soi Ruang land (spelling?) would be my favourite,

Allt beror pa hur mycket du vaxlar....

Good exchange rate in the end... Compared to exchange currency at banks..

    :D

I wonder if there is any problem to change swedish currency into thai baht in the banks in Pattaya. :o
  17. I have read many of posters reactions and only ask this...

Do you relly mean or think, it will be westernized by kicking Mr. Thaksin out?

Asia will still be the most corrupted part of the world - after Africa, what ever we may think, do or live by.

Wait, China will open soon, and I fear that it will consume us all...

    :o
