Havent read it in full but I asked them whether it would be an issue and they just said " why would it ". I told them that in england if an insurance company found out the car was anything other than completely stock they wouldnt pay out. The guy seemed baffled and told me not like that here. I havent ( luckily) had the chance to see what would happen if in the event of a claim they did notice the aftermarket rims. He also claimed that it would not effect the 3 year warranty on the vehicle, again havent had an opportunity to prove this either true or not true!
I wonder If anyone has had first hand experience?

Good point, didnt think of that. the tyres are 265/60 series. and loaded up with bikes and 2 people i guess would be near 400kg load. Nothings broken yet, although would be nice if someone could clarify that carrying these loads on these tyres is ok...
-
Have to say If it wasnt for loading up 2 sometimes 3 dirtbikes in the truck then I would have gone for the 4 door. But I really do need the space that the smart cab offers. Any passengers have to have quite short legs to get in my truck, not really an issue though in thailand!

Had 15in one's on my vigo found them a god sent. As the tyre's are very fat it's impossible to clump the rim's on the curb's. The ride is great. Other than the look of the thing. Why spend all the cash. It's a great car but not a Merc or Bmw. Just an idea save the cash and get a Sat/Nav
I found the 15's were unstable and the original tyres offered very little grip, changing to a narrower profile tyre with the bigger wheels i found really improved the handling and stability. If you have the cash, then i think its not only a change that makes the truck look better but manoevre better aswell. each to their own though eh!

First of all, good luck with your new truck, I bought exactly the same truck last august. first thing i did was stick 18's on it, they fit no problems.
If you want the standard 17's that come from the 4-door maybe it is worthwhile checking at some of the wheel shops as people often trade their old wheels in when buying new shinier rims. I would have thought there's a fair chance there are some 17in toyota wheels around in some shops. Good luck.

I think its spelt " lackadaisical ". not" laksidasical".

rayong to cnx on 1700baht. bloody hel_l that is economical. i just came bkk today from sukhumvit and the 2000baht i put in has got me in on the fumes back to my house, with this thread fresh in my mind I was trying to keep it at 120km/h just to see if it would be more economical than normal. seems not. maybe its to do with there being slightly more hills running from south to north. I ran it at 100km'h for a while and was watching the consumption readout, was running at about 15km per litre, whereas at about 140km/h it crumples to about 8 kms per litre. quite a big difference!

your best bet is www.mocyc.com. then go to the classifieds section, then dirtbikes. I see them come up every so often for sale on this site. there is quite a few TRIALS riders here in chiang mai.

I have the 3 litre Vigo Prerunner model. cnx-bkk uses 2000 bahts worth of fuel. so i guess its roughly 3baht per kilometre. I do step on it though and I reckon it would do it on 1500baht if i cruised at a lower speed say 120km/h or something like that. I reckon 800-900kms isnt unachieveable if you keep it steady.

I regularily take that route on (motor) bike so my observations may not be as sensitive as yours. but in rough terms the western end is flat-ish with a road surface that has patches of sand and grit as it gets closer to the hills. then there is a middle section that is all bends and a pretty good road surface. hilly but not as steep as doi sutthep at any point IMO. then at the eastern edge it flattens out again and runs straight all the way into mae suai.
a severe lack of shops on the road would constitute you bringing enough water beforehand and some snacks i would have thought.

Does anyone know of a travel agent that will send passports down to the kenyan embassy in bangkok for visas. I know i can get them on arrival in Nairobi but I am travelling with my thai missus and would prefer to get them before. thanks for any help.
-
narrower tyres make it turn and corner much quicker IMO. i personally prefer the ride with the 17in's on the little scooters. i have them on my click!

I have a gay friend who has one, he loves it. Some of the paint jobs on them are pretty cool actually!

thanks for the replies guys. Tonights the night so come 02.30am I reckon i will do a quick scurry around town, if nowhere looks like showing it then a dash back home and steal channel 7 off my girlfriend!
cheers.
-
i reckon it must be on the supersports channels, there must be 7 different channels. i know mad dog has these channels but they wont be open that late. channel 7 is the last option i guess, although i guess theres always the mute button on the remote!

I cant find this tantalising champions league fixture in my UBC tv guide. Im wondering if it will be on one of the south african supersports channels but i dont know of anywhere that will open that late with satellite TV.
Kick-off is 02.45am thai time i think. Does anyone know where will be playing it preferrably with english commentary??
Thanks in advance.

hi there,

oh and anyone got any idea of how much it would cost?
thanks
-
hi guys, is there a club where an old hand can get involved with the game i once loved and loathed??
is there like a regular season here or what, id hate to think its in the hot season!

this is one of the saddest things ive seen written for a long time. sub-concious attempts to appear more at one with the locals than other ex-pats living here by showing off on a webboard that you like the same type of women as most thai men. congrats.
you want a good night out try getting down and dirty in spicy one night. now that is cool!

yeah ill take that poll with a pinch of salt. how the hel_l did 30 bikes manage to finish ahead of the GSXR750. a travesty of justice to an amazing sportsbike. very dissapointed with the british biking public there!!
-
if scenerys your thing then i reckon the doi ang khang area and doi tung is pretty hard to beat.
p.s nice bike collection in the US there! shame you cant rent them here in chiang mai

the best roads are in nan period. 1148,1081,1091,1162,1168 are my favourites.
in terms of quality of road surface and the very little traffic there is nowhere better in north thailand.
the 120 from wang nuea to phayao is also blindingly good.
enjoy

bit of a stab in the dark but how about a suzuki dealership?
must be one on the road out from chang pueak to the superhighway.

seems fair enough to me, best thing to do would be to check it out for yourself. seems all to easy for people to throw around negative comments and accusations. would be a shame to miss out on a deal if you end up liking it.

If its a true motocross bike( i,e no headlight,no indicators, no kickstand) you might have issues getting it over the border, unless you have found a way to get it registrated or you know a friendly border crossing agent.
Good luck though.
