  1. There's a very nice restaurant at the top of Zen department store in Central world, it's between the Siam and Chidlom bts stations, you can walk from either side.

There's no dress code but the place is very nice and has nice atmosphere, you can sit inside or enjoy a nice breeze outside (yes, breeze in Bangkok :) ).

There's of course the Bayoke tower (or how ever it's spelled correctly), there you can really see the entire city, but don't expect too much out of the food

  2. Regarding the guys at Kawasaki shop on Rama 9...

    The are great.

I've bought my ER6n in Chiang Mai and brought it to Bangkok (couldn't wait for 3 months).

My plates came from Chiang Mai in the mail, I went to the Kawa shop and the guys there gave me the metal frame of the plate for free.

They earned their place on my good list.

  3. I have AVG and the toolbar was producing new tabs with a semi yahoo search box instead of www.google.co.uk which I have as a toolbar but when I turned off the feature to do this, the n ormal shortcut of CTRL T no longer produces a new tab.

    Any ideas ?

    Check your language.

If you are not in English mode, then the ctrl+T is actually something ctrl+other key.

Also like said above, the Flash movie thing, and the focus on your application - if you are not "inside" Firefox, then you can't send shortcuts to it.

  4. I just came back from Chiang Mai (to BKK), where I picked my Black ER6N, put it on the train and about 15 hours later - no idea why they call it the special express, I'm fighting traffic on it :)

The guys at Rama 9 told me to wait 3 months, Chiang Mai - 2 weeks but no delivery.

    BTW,

As i never rode a bike bigger then 500cc before, any special thumb rules regrading heat, cpm, etc?

  5. I'm not entirely sure why I know this, but I will bet a few bucks that you can easily find a dollhouse in SIam Paragon or at Central World, BKK.

    Hi all,

don't know if there are any people here who like dollshouses :) , but I'll give it a try: I'd like to buy a new dollshouse but when I order at dollshouse.com I have to pay 300 USD (!) for the shipping.

Anyone knows a shop or website or anything in Thailand? I'm living in Chiangmai, but Bangkok or so is also fine.

    Thnx.

  6. "Human psychology never ceases to amaze me. I find it remarkable that someone posts on an internet site of strangers asking (hopefully) for the holy grail which will transform their lives, and then getting shitty when he doesnt get the replies he wants.

    Fascinating. Truly fascinating. "

    you can never know :)

for the OP, open a website, in your own language or in any other, and try to make money out of it.

  7. Don't miss Siam Ocean world, it's a great place for kids, got air con. and it's right in Siam Paragon, which means you can also get to eat just about anything you want (or your children demand).

The description in your Itinerary is not correct and presents info on the Dusit Zoo.

    here is their website:

    www.siamoceanworld.co.th

  8. After I decided to finally get the Kawasaki ER-6N, I went to the Kawasaki shop at Rama 9 with some cash to put where my mouth is, and asked how many days it will take till I get my bike.

The sellers start laughing, first I thought that something was wrong with my Thai, perhaps I said "ki" instead of "kee", who knows, but then they continued and said that it will take 3 months till I get the bike.

I left the shop shocked, as I was considering 2-3 weeks to be an acceptable amonut of time to wait for a new bike.

While sharing this story with my friends that evening, one of them mentioned I shold call Pattaya and Chiang Mai's Kawaski aganceics.

To my surprise, the nice lady from Kawasaki Chiang Mai said it will take 14 days till I get the bike.

Woo, I "will have to" go to Chiang Mai and bring the bike down to Bangkok, oh please no.. :)

Can't wait for this road trip and break the motor in on the same time.

Anyway, why am I posting here?

Have any of you bought a new bike from a different province? should there be any issue with that regarding annual registration or selling etc. etc.?

How about the fact that Chiang Mai can give me the bike in 2 weeks but Bangkok in 3 months(!!) that's quite a difference, no?

  9. what a bummer.

4 people dead in Kaosarn Rd.! :)

think about how many more would have died if the shootings were aimed to the other side of the street (ie. into the main road and not to the Burger King).

I know many people who work around there and feel lucky no familiar names were in this article.

This makes kind of stuff happening makes me feel helpless and somewhat but a little afraid about the country in which I chose to live (and most likely raise my kids at).

  10. Never been to ZER, I live quite close to Petchburi Rd. and I can't remember a time I went to Pantip and could not find what ever I was looking for.

On the other hand, If there's something irritating at Pantip it's the "pssst, sex movie" guys, they really bother me, but I guess that's a small price to pay.

Also, on the sidewalk outside of Pantip they sell some of the best fried chicken I ate in Bangkok :)

(After your pitch, I might go there just to see what is it all about)

I would stick with Pantip plaza.

It's big enough, it has pretty much everything you would like (and probably some more, I can never get out of there without buying some new kind of junk :D , and it'll be probably the closest place to where ever you will be staying.

I think that this is the most important part of your decision where to go shopping, the distance.

Otherwise, the price and the "warranty" are pretty much the same.

Have fun and stay away from those 32gb "Vaio" thumb drives, they are fake.

If you ever was been at ZER, you would know that you're wrong!

Not only that ZER is much bigger than Pantip it also has a huge area for mobile phones, a lot more sparepart shops like Nattapong for electronic prts and others part shops which carries parts you'll never find at Pantip. The difference is huge!

And just as a side note, there more software shops which much less Sex Movie "Advertiser's" as well.

Even Amorn has a very huge shop in the Basement.

For to see all at ZER, you'll need a day!

    Cheers.

  12. Hi all,

This is my first post here, and I'm afraid it's going to be half commercial (after a few months of forum lurking).

I'm interested in opening a Data recovery company in Bangkok.

I know there are a few that already operates here, but I've no idea what would be the market in Thailand.

I've got a feeling that there are plenty of data loss catastrophes going on every week in the LOS, but there's also a chance that there's no awareness to the fact that data can be recovered.

    What do you guys think?

Did you ever used a Data recovery company here in Thailand?

I would love to hear from your experience, anything from fees, to success of the recovery, to even how nice was the messenger who took the HD :)

    any help would be great.

    Thanks
