  1. I have been in Thailand just over 15 years.

I arrived Thailand from NZ on a OA Retirement Visa..

July last year 2024 I decide to change to a Non O Visa.

Late in August I went to Cambodia at Chong Chom without a re entry permit.

Came back into Thailand with 60 days.

Went to immigration and started the process.

I later extended for another 30 days.

At the end of November immigration stamp the Non O into my passport.

Surin Immigration at Surin and Kap Cheong were fantastic.

    I cannot praise them enough.

800,000 baht is required in the bank.

I was able to do it with a letter from the  NZ Embassy.

Not all all Embassies do that now.

I'm a NZ citizen, and haven't received this email either, and have never filled in any of these forms.  I've had an account with KBank (or Thai Farmers Bank, as it was back then) since 1988.  Going through this thread it appears that long term account holders haven't received it.  It's definitely real though, as their website contains the following pdf file (5 pages in total, this is the one with the email address):

I've been asked to do similar with banks / financial institutions in other countries, but in each of these cases, the forms were submitted via their secure websites, not by email.

The self certification form for individuals is here on their website:

From another Kiwi who has been in Thailand for 15 years.

I highly suspect this is a scam.

Be fair. Those assaults were 25+ years ago. It was a different era. They would not  get a pass if they did it now.

Sexual assault is a part of the Egyptian culture, so he may have believed he was doing anything wrong.

In Egypt, sexual harassment is a major public threat against women for which there has been no sustainable policy or practice. Such harassment can range from verbal to physical—the latter of which can lead to severe harm and, in some cases, murder. According to a 2013 United Nations report, nine out of ten Egyptian women have been sexually assaulted—ranging from simple harassment to rape. This demonstrates a real problem that requires rapid and sustainable solutions, policies, and advocacy work. There has been extensive public discussion on the topic for the last couple of years, and the state has denied the breadth and severity of the problem.

Then he should have check the laws in countries he intends to visit.

    Ignorance is no excuse.

    Scum he is.
