  1. Just let an AIS agent sort it out for you.  The write the number down somewhere.  I put mine on a little sticky label on the inside of the case.  Also create a little text file that contains your number with a deceptive name and save it to the desktop of one of your machines. Eg., you could name the file “M00nl1te!  The name contains nine characters including a capital letter, three numbers, three small letters and a symbol.

  2. "... the virus (sic.) power is similar to a little flu."  Try watching the interviews on BBC of the various sufferers who have been released from the hospital but are still struggling months later to recover fully.  Apparently some people will suffer life-long impairments from having contracted COVID-19.  Some who suffer serious complications are under 30 years of age.

  3. Two years ago, I received several fake items from Lazada.  I promptly printed off return labels and sent them back at 7/11 at no cost, keeping the receipts.  I received a refund to my credit card.  I think that I was able to receive a refund for one item that I didn’t have to send back.  Since then all of the items that I have received have been acceptable.  I don’t know whether 7/11 still accepts items shipped back to Lazada.  How are posters returning their items now?

  4. I sent my report due 26 August by EMS on 11 August.  Tracking shows that it was received at Lak Si on 12 August.  I always put a 3 Baht stamp on the return envelope so it usually takes me six weeks to two months to receive my reply.  Maybe next time I’ll pay for an EMS reply.  Were there any special instructions for mailed reports recently? I wasn’t aware of any and assume that my tracking receipt will exempt me from any fine.  Is my assumption correct?

  5. I would wait for two more months to see if long-stay permit holders are allowed back in.  If tourists are allowed back in after your permission to stay expires, then visa waiver, 90 Non-O and a new one—year extension might be the most economical route.  I expect that there will be a couple of vaccines available Q1 to Q2 of next year.   It’s a bit risky but the authorities are exploring every option to re-admit tourists ASAP.

  6. Here's a thought: stay where you are to make the higher salary for a while and save 50% of your pay.  Then when you have enough money to live where you can ignore the obnoxious crowds, return to Thailand.  There's no such thing as a free lunch.  You'll have to pay, for now, by enduring cold weather or enduring obnoxious crowds.  By the way, most desirable places have gotten more expensive and more crowded over the past twenty years.  The escape to good living conditions needs to be bought.  It's not free anymore.

  7. I always mail my report by EMS and print out the tracking of it being received at Lak Si.  I happened to do my extension about 30 days after
i mailed my last report and while at CW, I checked to confirm that they had it.  They had, but it took about 20 more days for me to receive my receipt in the mail.  So the slow leg is from CW back to you.  With the new and inconvenient location, I will wait almost three months after mailing the report before I trek out there.   My EMS receipt is evidence that the report was submitted so there should be no fine.

  8. How frustrating!  I am being forced to move to another hotel by Sept. 1st because my present hotel is becoming an Alternate Quarantine Site.  Now they are proposing to admit tourists with just a COVID test and no quarantine. So what am I moving for? Some of the tourists admitted after October 1st may choose to stay in my new hotel, putting me in the same situation I would be in if I stayed in my present hotel.????
