    Dental Clinic

I recommend St. Louis Hospital. Reasonable price and good service. Long waiting list though.
  2. It always takes me more than three weeks to get my new slip in the mail. I keep my EMS receipt to prove that I mailed it. I track the number and print out the report of delivery too.
  3. Nobody hates Australians, mate. They’re crocodile killers.
  4. I use ExpressVPN but find that only certain servers offer me access to sites such as Showtime. The server for showtime is erratic with a slow speed. So you have to have a certain US server to get the shows that you want. You can telephone support and they will advise you which server to use.
  5. A paved road filled with cracks and potholes will have a lot of weeds growing up through them unless it is very heavily traveled.
  6. Seven percent return sounds to be very good. Is the amount adjusted for inflation? I only make 3% net. My financial advisor takes 1.5% of my total 4.5 % return. My annuities are returning 3% while the principal invested doesn’t decrease. It seems that I should have bought annuities. My portfolio now has a net loss. ????
  7. Wow! I wonder how many foreigners have met Japanese girlfriends in front of Hachiko. They must number in the millions by now. When I started meeting girls there in 1979, it was a common meeting place. With the ambiguity inherent in spoken Japanese, it was a much more reliable place than station entrances, etc. In the early days, I was amazed that none of the girls stood me up without letting me know that they wouldn’t be coming by a telephone call to someone who came to notify me.
  8. Right about the smaller frames. I buy my frames at Walmart in California and only get the lenses at Owndays. I think that a good strategy may be to buy your frames from Zenni with cheap single-vision lenses, then buy your bifocal or progressive lenses locally. I find that local optical shops have trouble adjusting the lenses to be correctly located in relation to your eyes..
  9. I recommend the Japanese optical shop OwnDays. They have a location both in Central World and in Gaysorn Plaza. They have much cheaper prices than Top Charoen as well as much better quality and service. I have been ripped off by many Thai Optical shops. In the past, I paid as much as $900 for a pair of bifocal lenses only. This was because the woman wrote a much higher price on my order slip than the one that she quoted and I didn't check it before putting it in my pocket. When I went to pick up my glasses, I was truly shocked but felt forced to pay the price. There are many scams for the unwary. Beware of shops offering you a 50% discount on astronomical prices. It's an old trick still often used in Bangkok even by the big department stores but in the past I fell for it without doing any real comparison shopping.
  10. In America, it is common for dealers to buy wrecked cars, repair them, and sell them as as "used." The buyer doesn't know that the car was wrecked.
  11. I think that building codes should be enacted that require balconies of a safe height. Also people can be enigmatic but circumstances are mysterious. Undressed in this situation is obviously used as the past tense of a verb, not an adjective.
  12. There is a variety of people here: some kind and friendly and some not. Two weeks ago, a nurse in Cardiology shouted at me for five minutes straight over what was, unbeknownst to her, merely a misunderstanding. Yesterday I had a great conversation with a taxi driver about the world political situation on the way back to my hotel. The trick is not to be discouraged from interacting by your unpleasant experiences. I try take the good with the bad. Somebody mentioned joining fellowship groups. Where are those to be found?

There is a world-wide shortage of coffee so the price of beans is up.
  14. Thanks for the link to the 90-day appointment page. I am surprised to find that it actually exisis
  15. There are no appointments to do 90-day reports. You have queue and wait in line..
  16. Thanks for information. It's interesting to hear that your online submissions were accepted a few days before the due date.. just the same, I think that I'll stick to mailing mine in but it's good to know that I have an alternative way to submit my report. BTW, I guess that the re-entry line was moving quicker because they seem to receive the applications quicker. At the 90-day report desk, there were only two windows open for part of the time. It appeared to take 5-10 minutes for each report to be completed so only about 25 people were processed per hour. There were 38 people in front of me when I went in and it took 90 minutes before my number was called.
  17. The reason that I want to stick with mail in is because with the EMS receipt I am protected from filing late. Over the past five years, I have never had a mailed in report declined. I don't know if other people have filed online successfully when they are less than 15 days from their due date but if I have less than 15 days when an online submission is declined, I assume that I will have to make a trip to immigration. incidentally, when I went to immigration on Tuesday I got queue numbers for both the 90-day and the re-entry queues. When I completed my 90-day report I noticed that the re-entry queue had proceeded far past my queue number. The 90-day queue seems to be much slower than the re-entry queue.
  18. I successfully filed my 90-day report today at Chaeng Wattana. When I got there at 1:00 and quickly got my queue number there were 38 people waiting before me. After a 90-minute wait, my number was called. When I submitted my paper, the IO told me that my address of record was the one that I had three years ago before I was forced to move to my present hotel. Fortunately, I had brought my hotel's electronically filed TM 30 with me, so the IO updated my address in the computer. She warned me to submit my online report 15 days before the due date in the future. I will not take a chance on that. I will mail my report around eighteen days before the due date. I have mailed in my reports for years without any problem. Apparently they have been accepted for the last three years even though my address of record was different.
  19. My report was declined again today. I will get a copy of the hotel's TM 30 and go out tomorrow at lunchtime. My declination said no data found. I'm not sure what that means. Thanks for your advice.
  20. I have read various reports about 90-day submissions that are rejected for lack of TM 30 data. I have just had my hotel submit a TM 30 with my new passport number.. i now have submitted an online report with data that matches my previous submissions except for the new passport number. I received an email reply that my data had been received but so there has been no action on it.
  21. I corrected two discrepancies between the report that I submitted by mail in January and my online report that I submitted yesterday. I just tried submitting a new online report with the corrections. It's past the due date of the 20th. I hope that it will be accepted. Thanks for your help!
  22. I would try submitting another report online but I don't know what to tweak. I'll look for the copy of my previous report in January and check for differences between it and my present report.. My hunch is that the problem is the new passport number. I assume that immigration hasn't updated their database. Perhaps the 90 day report section keeps its own database. I've never seen an IO check a computer regarding the data on my applications. i will heed your advice and go out on Tuesday the 25th leaving the 26th open in case of unexpected problems such as needing a TM 30 or other papers.
  23. My online report was rejected. It seems that I will be spending a long day at Chaeng Wattana next week.
  24. Thanks. The present status is "Pending." My report was due on the 20th so I think that I have through the 26th for it to be approved. If It is not, I'll go out on the 27th. Is my counting correct? The seven days past counting starts on the 21st, I think.
  25. I just received an email saying that my data was submitted. I hope that I get a confirmation of acceptance before April 27 which is seven days after my 90-day due date on April 20. Thanks for the suggestion to try submitting online.
