and possibly no happy ending ever if the staff have not been vaccinated and you catch it from them.
If they are vaccinated you still catch it from them. In fact they can still catch it too, it's just that their immune system has had time to learn to fight back because it's been injected with a disabled punch doll version of the virus via a vaccine.
I wish people would just think for a minute...they have 1440 chances every single day.

...and, while I'm on a rant, does anyone realise that an N95 mask is 95% of particulates protection? (dust, sand, cement, spittle etc). It does not protect the eyes, it does not protect the ears. Why no boom boom ban?
There are over 20,000 variants of the flu since recording began. What makes the half dozen or so we have this season any different?

What is it that people think that getting a vaccine (assuming it works as claimed) will protect others? It's so upside down on it's head.
If you come to Thailand you could sign a waiver that they're not responsible if you get the virus. No lock down, no economy damaged. Does anyone else see this as a financial game with an underlying intent of a great reset?
Thailand missed out on a fantastic opportunity to get ahead of all the other idiot countries.
Gun meet foot. Enjoy.

I have a wonderful girl. Only two issues; she thinks female, she thinks Thai herd. Aside from those two minor nuances she's amazing. She's actually saved my life at least one time for sure, and possibly twice. Only way I can get her attention though is to cause a squabble, otherwise she's too busy doing 'stuff'. Yak Yak is soooo not my thing though.

Instead of spending money on vaccines, why not give every family a free bottle of Lao Khao? It'll kill the virus for sure. If you don't drink then put a few drops of it on your mask.
Also....
Deaths by Covid (in total): 66
Deaths by RTA (daily): 56
Anybody see anything wrong with that picture?
If you get steaming drunk and ride your motorcycle, you won't die of Covid, promise.

Going to take a very long time to get there then. At 384,400km comes in just shy of four years.

There are some scary roads around there. Never thought I'd ever write this, but I think they made a good decision.
The only other good thing I've ever seen is how they levy price on fuel for stability. Approx same price today as it was when I got here nearly 15 years ago.
If they want a new law they should use their cameras to make sure riders and drivers look for oncoming traffic at junctions.

Trouble is, if you remove the need for the workers, you also remove the need for a government to a large degree. Can't be having that. Something to do with the Chef to Cook ratio.

- If they want more Tourists and Exports, then they could print more Baht and join the others in a race to the bottom.
- If they used one of the (at least) 16 pre-existing treatments for other issues and repurpose them, they could hand them out on arrival and ditch the quarantine.
- Visas are ridiculous. Simplify and reduce cost. "We want your money, but we want to make it difficult, expensive, a Pain in the A, and maybe we won't let you renew more than 6 months of the year (just to be sure you can't spend here). When the quarantive is over you can send some of your people to Cambodia to learn how to copy how they approach visas.
- And <deleted> let people buy land! Limit the Rai per person if you are concerned about a takeover.
5G scares me. Reminds me of involuntarily sticking your head in a microwave and there's nowhere to run to get away from it. Why not use more fibre cable and stick with 4G which has a longer range?

Nope, don't like the Thai beers at all. Never drink Singha, Leo, Chang or any of the other local rubbish. I drink a lot of beer but prefer paying for decent stuff. Don't mind paying 280 baht for a pint of Hoegaarden, Stella or other Belgian beer, I just don't want to pay the same for 330ml of a flowery or fruity concoction. Not for me and I find most people who are in to that are pretentious and snobby.
So why don't you tell me what the online sales figures are for Singha & co as you seem to know so much. The "big boys" own 94% of the market, the Craft market is around 1%, so who hurts most financially from an online ban? The big boys lose the most revenue by far and won't take that easily. Remember people saying the same about the alcohol ban during Covid? It was orchestrated by the big boys to run the small guys out of business. Nonsense. It was the big boys campaigning to have that overturned and it will be just the same now.
If the big boys see a genuine threat they will generally just buy them. Heineken own close to 100 craft beer brands and no one knows, they just quietly bought them up. They don't run to the government to ban something that will hurt them more.
Again, this ban is borne of stupidity, nothing more. Stop looking for conspiracies.
There is a restaurant in Udon that has (at last count) 89 different beers, mostly Belgian. I can do an 'in person' purchase for you (especially since we own it. TBH I'd try Sivilaii or Mahanakorn. 330ml are 90 and 115 baht respectively. It says Thai beer but technically it is Vietnamese. I prefer the latter but most people prefer the former.

It's easy to get alcohol. You just have to put it on your hands and not down your throat.

We have a restaurant with 89 different beers, so not worried about that, but I am worried about not having friends, If not for that then what's the point?

5 die in Q1 Thailand of the virus, and 67,000 die on the roads. I can see the world is up in arms (not) about lowering deaths in LOS.

Both France and Germany have a vaccine, and they're in a race to be the first to get FDA clearance expedited.

Then it's bye bye for now Jonny.I consider thaidams as a pair of shoes that are tight and good to wear..After a couple of months they are too big and bad to wear ..
Then it's bye bye for now ...and back to the shoe store ..
Based on my own experience, I have to disagree. Sure I'm the sole financial supporter in our relationship (except now I've bought her a restaurant to make sure she doesn't need me anymore - I'm paranoid like that), but 1) she works on it very hard, and 2) when it came to the crunch she was up front and working 'team'. I've asked her to leave me I think perhaps #7 times now. She will not. I say TFFThat, but I have to test once in a while.

Not sure I agree with this. I think my girl got with me because she didn't have any easy options when she knew she was going to lose her job imminently, despite rejecting all my (and everyone elses) approaches. It certainly wasn't because I was hansum/young/so very very funny or anything like that.
We're 9+ years in and just 20 mins I ago I asked if she was going to leave and move to 'the other' or 'another' rental(?). She said no, I stay with you. Now for the background:
I'm 16 years older than her, and it's clear who has the looks and who has the scheming (I mean creative and honest) business mind. I didn't have a lot of cash when I met her, but I met her needs every single time one way or another, have never lied, but as you may have experienced, after the first several years the fire dies down and becomes embers. I got scammed a few months ago and lost several $USD mill (which I'd only created while with her), and I told her, and her first words were "do you want me to sell my gold to support us?" (no!). Now I'm not saying this is a Disney world romance story, but when I've been ill over the last few years with an improbable number of injuries and bone breaks including one 'dead cert' life ending sentence, she was there. It gave me strength to do what I needed to learn that everyone else (inc. 4 independent doctors) to overcome that and make a full recovery. Granted she's not that driven by sex now whereas before she was accommodating anytime, and that's a frustration, but the hint of making her a kept woman with maid duties and I'll find that elsewhere seems to hurt a lot.
Okay that's a huge overshare, but I'll make it (the security) all back. She works hard in an establishment I bought for her (that she didn't want or ask for), and I think now she understands that if money can buy it, then it might not be that valuable (time, health, happiness etc). I hope she remembers those learning's when I'm long gone. As I write this I can hear her downstairs playing with the dogs and is perfectly content and chirpy in her world, and scared of nobody (I'm the softie, just fairly good at some things that put rice on the table).
Btw, her father was a rampant butterfly and got '6 lead poisonings' which paralyzed him long before I ever came to this country, and the family were tasked with taking care of him until the end. That might have had a big impression on her view of the world.
All that said, one of my better friends has more girls than days in the week, and with a high turnover rate, is quite candid about it, and is relationship-phobic, so clearly not one size fits all.
I'll shut up now.- 3

Yesterday I bought a pad thai for 35 baht ;
I gave a 50 baht note and I said give me back 15 baht
but he needed to use his calculator to check
I had something similar at a local shop. Bought a few things that totaled 80 baht. I was impressed that the person added it up without a calculator. I gave 100 baht, and then they had to get the calculator out to work out the change lol.

Perhaps your wife is chinese-thai ? the only ones i am familiar with are from isaan..maybe it is different there.
I also thought only females would notice hands and feet but I have heard a surprising number of men comment on those details (remember Seinfeld manhands haha)
Anyway, this also might be something only a female would notice, but I do not like most of the female thai voices i hear. It is not a soft, lilting sound.....but kind of like a duck
LOL i am not being petty I swear..I actually think the thai female entire package is very appealing and I can see why men are mesmerized by it!
When I met my wife, one of many qualities that attracted me was her gentle voice.
I was duped! One of her friends a few doors away has a voice that I just can't be around, and when they start a door to door conversation (invariably about food), she clones the neighbour and goes into full screech. After that, because I can't concentrate even with headphones at full volume, I go to the balcony and say "you guys don't need phones, you could be heard on the other side of the village. Why not just walk over there and talk together .... at normal decibels?". She does, but the next time they do it again. I thought you only needed 21 days to learn a new habit, but this has continued for years.- 1

We were in a coffee shop chatting - in normal tones - about the propaganda methods that Lefties used to both create Trump Derangement Syndrome, and to make people believe that Trump colluded with Russia. All of a sudden, an American homosexual starts yelling "I don't want to listen to this hate - I'm leaving!" Soon afterwards, an American woman walks over to us. Then she says " You two are nasty, and unpleasant, people."
Response to them: "There's a mirror with your name on it".

i thought the main thing about thai girls that men liked, was that they were willing to date much older men....lol
one poster said their hair which is gorgeous...but hands and feet? i actually find thai womens hands and feet not attractive. the chinese and indians have dainty ones
other than that, thai women are very beautiful. - female perspective
I had a friend here from UK (a Dyke as it happens) who had what I thought of as a straight GF, who pointed out to me that she thought they had horrible feet (I never got around to looking that far down, but then again she's a shoe designer).
Non issue though, since you don't look at the mantle piece when poking the fire. I do wish we could communicate though. It's not binary opposite, but something approximate to tangent of trinary. But OMG I'm stunned every day when I see my wife, and she's not a 20 something either. Just awesome and frustrating at the same time. -

If I tell my missus how beautiful she looks today, and how good a heart she has, she ignores it, she's heard it all before.
I said the other day (when talking about perfume/cologne) "I have just one, I don't want another one, just like with you I'm a one woman man" - Oh my you should have seen her face light up!- 4
