I ask Ford shop how much for cost new Gearbox? surprised told me 13,500 baht? thought it would be a lot more? but now Ecosport has a free 10 year warranty on this 6 speed box (you seen problems in the passed) with the Fiesta! same.

Had the same problem with mine over New Year! flat battery!

I drove the car outside ok! (cold weather) mine lasted 3.5 years - Ford checked every 3 months on wax cleaning sessions!

went to start again nothing, only a lot of clicking under bonnet and near gearbox? oh dear! (everywhere closed) any way put on a GS battery (showed warning lights - service now).

Only have bottom gear (no sport mode). took it to Ford 3 days later?

PCM gearbox gone? Sh____!

Ford replaced PCM and gearbox under warranty! - FREE - apparently these are covered now for 10 years now! excellent service done same day!

Moral story - don't let your battery run flat!!!!!! I will now change it before due every 2 years now!

otherwise my Ford dealer is the best I have ever had - even in England - GREAT service always!

Dash cam insurance discount - Was told by Toyota when receiving new vehicle that if I was to claim it would only be 1% ( thought it was more ). Also if the you do claim the discount & your camera isn't working at the time of an accident you are not covered

Another one - I take it that the dash cam will not operate when vehicle is parked ? - As friend was stating to me what happens if someone reverses into him whilst trying to park ( no evidence )

I have just upgraded my dash cam this week (about 1,000 baht) dual lens (front and back). from Lazada!

includes now G-Spot (accident) and park mode! - this would cover that situation (comes on for 20 seconds or so) also have movement detector now!

170 degree angle now!

seems alot better models out now!

went today to make a Certificate of Residence, very easy  process at Chiang Watthana Immigration.

Only 1 copy (form) needed for both car and motorbike licence, Copied passport stamps and 90 day report notice! made at counter J2. 400 baht total (great). post it to my home address under 2 weeks (valid for 1 month).

It was quicker than getting my visa stamp.

I need to renew my 5 year Car and Motorcycle licence next month (shortly after my Birthday) date current licence!

To obtain From British Embassy very costly and time consuming now!

I have to go back to Immigration on the 17th of August collect my yearly new Non "O" visa stamp (went today for extn). and want to do at the same time! next month.

What is the process? paperwork needed now? - see attached res cert?  is this current for Chaeng Wattana?

NOTE:  -   DO I need to fillin  2 residence forms? 2 Residence certs? from Immigration? for renew both licences together?

1. Pickup my new stamp passport and copies new stamp + ? Picture page? visa stamp? entry/exit form?   Anything more? 

2. Complete Res cert aplic (see attached)?

3. Housemaster Doc copies needed? yes/no

Where do you apply? counter now? How much?

How long does it take to get? or can they post my address? post time?  before was about 2 weeks, when i did this long time ago! 

Have i missed any thing else?

Firstly i dumped my True visions T.V setup as before!

and i purchased Pulse TV. system now 2 weeks ago (2 boxes) system. After speaking with them, i also bought a T.P link adaptor kit from Lazada. I moved my internet box, so it was a direct hookup via lan cable to my T.V set downstairs (no buffering at all now) when connected through wifi had some slight issues sometime! 

My T.V upstairs is still through wifi and shows nearly full bars on the wifi signal- sometimes it has buffering problems not very often? though! i am yet to fit my T.P link system yet?

Does the T.P Link adaptor? use much electric? it tells me when fitted and connected that  when the device is not runing it goes into saving mode! saving 80% electric (which would be most of the night/day) as i only watch this T.V in the evening?

any idea what difference is on power usage this device would make? noticing it would be sitting idol most of the time?

Normally i go by  9 ringroad. No.2 road and take the 24 all the way, last time i travel this road last year?

BUT THE No. 24 road was a disaster with so many Road works, construction - took for ever to get there? 

What are current roads like now? has anyone travelled this way lately? or better to go through Buri Ram

Hi all/. I contacted Pulse T.V James last week about changing over from True visions?

He answered all my questions - i went ahead and subscribed for 1 year and 2 boxes? 10k plus 4.5k, next day post to my house (great)!

Now i have dumped my true visions t.v and phone package (hurrah)! saving 24k now per year! from the rubbish true are showing now!

I have newer movies ! plus they have a movie folder, documentaries folder (showing upto date, latest, shows, movies) in addition to the normal channels.

Had some small buffing issues though?

Advice?  - setup your T.v (downstairs direct through Lan cable (if through wifi some buffing at times), now direct hook up through lan cable great!

Upstairs box T.V worked the same (on wifi) - some slight buffing issues at time? - NOW i have set up - through - POWERLINE adaptor as James told me: so connected via a Lan cable from electric plugs - GREAT THE Same now!

Thank you Pulse T.V - I am very happy now - plus saving 24k a year from my old true rubbish system - I want formula 1 - pulse offer this!

Also you can download there movie players and watch this service on your computer, mobile - if you want to watch there srvice when you are away from home? as long as you have an internet connection, along with re-cap t.v 24hrs back programs!

I bought a Ecosport Trend model in 2014 - still going strong (love everyday) still when i drive it! best decision i made from a vois to Ecosport model. Powershift ok 6 speed very good (quicker acceleration than my vois upto speed).

Now nearly 2 and half years old, no problems so far - you need a good dealer? mine is Phetkasem Ford, Bangkae! - excellent service and help in anyway (nothing is to much trouble for them!).

They clean, wax, mop and polish my suv every 3 months (400 baht)  2/3 hr service - better than i could ever do! (great)

I upgraded from new to leather seats (9k) very good, plus lots of extras in deal! and 5 year warranty inc. (my deal)

I use gasohol 91 fuel best - seems same power as benzine, tried E20 seemed loss of power difference and worse consumption than 91

Seems like you are set on Ecosport -  buy a suv that you want? not others?

New upgrade model on the way soon? maybe late next year? nobody can tell me for sure with sync 3 (would be nice) can link gps map onto display screen.

For the price range -Trend model suited us! don't need sunroof, push button start etc (maybe another 80k) difference Titanium model.

Would like new 1 litre engine (turbo) but cannot run with powershift model yet? (maybe turbo problem in hot country in Thailand though) - i think they are holding it back till later? as Fiesta has both now!

If you don't use the car for along time the remote powers down! same as flat battery? you have to gain asses by the key and then should start up ok? then it will re-set it's self ready for next time!

I checked again at about 12pm was now working - so did my online report (14 days before) it went through ok - message read pending!

I then got an e-mail at 4:07pm today - Approved!

just checked status on site and printed out my next  appointment slip out.

There are a lot of Ford Haters on this website! are u buying a SUV for you? or readers of this site?

Practically the Ecosport is a good small size SUV (value for money wise) 800k - HRV, CX3 cost alot more money over 1 million etc.

We all want a brand new shinny car on our drive - that's going to depreciate like anything nowadays - but the Ecosport no worse than others (in Thailand) second hand value better than most Countries!. But you buy a SUV/CAR to use and worry about values later? (unless you want to buy a new car every year?)

Well i have had mine for nearly 2 years (next month). didn't go for Titanium model (didn't suit me) don't like alloys, sunroof, etc. I bought a Trend model (with upgrade leather seats) and other extras. It is big enough for us and our small family!

I like the higher driving position better than my vois before and it handles ok, driving wise (remember it is not a sports car?) its an SUV!

So far my Ford experiance has been great here in Thailand (depends on dealership?) mine here in Bangkae is very good! and nothing is to much trouble when i require service from them. (I have herd some dealers not so good?)

Seats to small not noticed? big enough for us? - engine size ok with 6 speed auto gearbox - good mpg? seems ok (quicker than my vois before, by far).

Price wise - under 800k for a new Suv i think good value? - I don't want to change up for a few years more this time? just to sit on my drive (i don't drive that many kilos now each year) But a nice luxury to have when i want to go out/drive - without using taxis anymore. But is reliable and will start up when i turn the key!

I don't want a bigger SUV (Everest) Fortuner, etc to big drive around? this medium models suits my needs in all.

So would i buy a Ford again yes! - if i wanted to upgrade to a newer SUV? but at present the Ecosport has been a great SUV in my experience so far!

Buy what model SUV, Car that suits you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not what others tell you? (everything is bad) in some way or other?

ops: forgot? Why is Ford number 1 car seller in the UK? still they must do something right?

Probably now not the case now (I see nissans website advertise GPS turn by turn etc) this might be on the top model truck only, or pay extra (as you have been quoted) to replace upgrade to a indash GPS spec player?. probably lost in translation? when buying your pickup.

Only Ford in Thailand (as far as i know - are offering Sync 3 soon (coming in the new Focus) will have option to display gps maps from your phone soon on your display, present Sync 2 in Thailand does not do this.

Best option- now you can use GPS map on a smart phone (i currently use Sygic maps on my Samsung phone) Download and pay the life time fee (mine was about 900 baht Thailand map) now believe alot cheaper? (from play store).

Sygic works fine for me - lots of options (head up display, speed camera, live traffic) i don't bother with these. (also has Bluetooth now, can display sound through your speakers in the truck). if you want.

You can mount your phone on the windscreen (lots of cheap mounts available), connect power lead (via usb socket car).

Free updates for life, many updates each year - plan routes, add way points, save these routes and many over things! - in the comfort of your house!

even if you have to buy a new phone (smart phone) and buy map, still alot cheaper than what you have been quoted!!! by nissan.

If you buy/pay the extra of a new unit from Nissan - map updates are far and few between (but costly also).

(Thai owner or Farang) has all servicing been done? should have had 18 months service by now? Private sale/tent, maybe u can negotiate a lower price?

Still very happy with my Ecosport so far - great service to from my local Ford Dealer! - plus wax/polish/clean everywhere every 3 months for only 400 baht!

Just been to Ubon back- 600 plus k and ran great there and back - for a medium size SUV.

I have had mine now for 20 Months and see no reason to change again yet? (only done 8,000 k now)

I use Sygic now on my I-Phone so far very good? can download and pay for proper map (about 1,000 baht) and life time free updates regularly. Thai map - can store in routes prior and way points. You do not need an internet connection to use Sygic then. So far good signal strength in most places around Thailand.

The secret is to find on google maps places and add in phone prior journey going, makes life a lot easier on routes journeys you use a lot. Also add way points to go/come back the route you want and also store these in the memory.

I use Sygic GPS nowadays seems work fine on any Samsung phone here in Thailand adequate enough. Also offers updates free and about under 1,000 baht (one off fee) for Thailand map (you can get worldwide nowadays). You can easy buy here mobile window/dash fixing units to mount it near you in car, etc.

But you need good power supply (charging) whilst you use (seems to zap phone battery down quickly otherwise) but if you leave on charging in use is ok.

Yes/. "All new Toyota vios" What is different" from the old model? only body style - can you expect any different with the new Fortuner?

wait and see? perhaps they say "New Fortuner" this time! Doesn't "All new" mean everything new in my book?

Why so much anger on this site over cars - wouldn't it be a boring world if every car was a Toyota Fortuner ops black/white or another Fortuner that one is black/white.

Aren't you forgetting about one thing!

The new Fortuner will be an update of the current model. Ok maybe have a new body (shape) design? but the rest will have the same engines as current models. probably have the same technology of the ten year old design out now - just packaged differently - with a few updates!

Just like the (All new vios was) - different body (changed interior) a little bit but otherwise outdated technology! (packaged as the all new vios) - rubbish!

Toyota seem to be lagging behind very much nowadays - Lets have a new car from Toyota not just updates like for the last ten years or so?

That's why Toyota seems to be getting a bad name nowadays?

Where are the NEW cars/trucks - they promise us - what has happened to new ideas (hybrid / dual engine power / design, etc).

That's why I am an ex- customer now of Toyota? nowadays.
