Biden failed, BIG TIME, as he does so often AND you ain't got the stones to admit it. He annihilated a family of 10 or so Afghans, 7 children going to a picnic when he lit them up with a hellfire missile. Total failure, Trump was on the golf course, so you GOT a big fat NOTHING again.
Biden did that? He should have got staff to fly planes and fire missiles.

If the party that won the most votes last time win again next time and are allowed to form a government, then they would make a excellent replacement.

It's only fair that low paid workers should earn enough to live on.
At 400 a day that's only 2 grand a week....not enough with prices rising everywhere, yet that's all they are gonna get.
If we foreigners have to pay a bit more so that Somchai can put a roof over his head and feed himself I think we wouod all be happy to pay a bit more so that can happen
Yes, I would. But not so tax avoiding billionaires can profit even more.

A dramatic turn in Thai politics emerged as lawyer Tiwa Karnkasang submitted a striking petition to the Election Commission (EC) on Wednesday. He pushed for the dissolution of the Pheu Thai Party and its coalition partners, hinging on an incendiary audio clip allegedly revealing misconduct by Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra.
The recording purportedly captures a conversation between Paetongtarn and Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen.
Tiwa claims the clip exposes actions threatening national security and breaching ethical standards. It mentions discussions on border strategies and suggests the PM favoured Cambodian interests, criticised her own military, and exchanged confidential details with a foreign leader.
These revelations, according to Tiwa, are a severe violation of expected governmental conduct.
Accusations focus on the Thai-Cambodian tensions, with recent military clashes over disputed territories being highlighted.
Tiwa argues Paetongtarn’s personal ties with the Cambodian regime may have undermined the national response and compromised state governance.
Further fuel was added by a public admission from the PM, acknowledging the clip's authenticity, purportedly reinforcing claims of misconduct.
Tiwa insists these actions not only undermine Thailand's military but also weaken its diplomatic stance, threatening sovereignty and constituting grave ethical breaches.
Additionally, Tiwa criticises the Pheu Thai Party’s executive committee for its silence and continued support of Paetongtarn, accusing them of antagonism towards democratic principles.
He also targets coalition parties like United Thai Nation and others, alleging support for political gains and Cabinet quotas over national interest.
The plea urges the EC to consult the Constitutional Court for the potential dissolution of involved parties and to revoke the electoral rights of their leaders.
The petition bases its arguments on Thailand’s Constitution, the Organic Act on Political Parties, and sections of the Penal Code.
Tiwa calls for urgent EC action, warning of dire national consequences similar to historic territorial losses, like the Preah Vihear Temple dispute, should the situation remain unchecked.

....'implementing strategic market development initiatives.'
Impressive collection of words.
I would challenge anyone from TAT to explain them and then give some concrete examples of their plans. No evasion allowed.

No the corrupt system is enjoyed by all the elite, not just Thaksin. The military should be in charge of the armed forces to protect the country and not have political involvement. History shows it is a perfect scenario for a basket case leadership, just look west, north, north again and east, all military controlled governments where the generals are wealthy and the people are mostly poor and lacking in Infrastructure. Thailand is no exception, why do they need to spend billions on 3 submarines when the money should be used on education, health and infrastructure. Where will the 3 subs operate given the shallow gulf of Thailand, the Andaman? its just a complete joke!

I've wondered about that in other places like Bangkok too. The big question is who owns them? Is there a certain small group of people that own the majority of them? I doubt they are all individually owned by sole proprietors. Money laundering comes to mind.
It is ridiculous how many there are. And not many working within the law as it was originally understood.
Most do not even pretend to be dispensaries any more.
I would also like to know what the real game is.

It's definitely illogical.
Why is buying a beer at 711 at 1:45pm OK but at 2:15pm illegal?
Why is smoking tobacco and cannabis legal but a vape is illegal?
Why is buying a lottery ticket legal but betting on a football match illegal?
Why are ST rooms in Pattaya bars allowed, but not in BKK bars?
It's all very strange.
Why is there no alcohol on Buddhist holidays, but cannabis shops are open selling stuff that might have meant jail time not long ago.

Thailand’s tourism sector, historically a robust pillar of its economy, stands at a critical juncture, according to Yuthasak Supasorn, Chairman of the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) and former governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). Despite its resilience to past challenges, the industry is now grappling with structural changes and a noticeable dip in tourist arrivals.
"Thai tourism has been a key driver of our economy, but it is now at a crossroads," Supasorn commented, highlighting the industry's shifting landscape. Recent data reveals a concerning trend: in the first five months of 2025, Thailand welcomed 14.3 million foreign visitors, marking a 2.7% decline from the previous year. Particularly troubling is the steep decline in the Asian market, which constitutes nearly 63% of the total visitors.
A significant portion of this downturn is attributed to the precipitous drop in Chinese tourists—historically Thailand’s largest group of foreign visitors—whose numbers plunged by 32.7%, from 2.91 million in 2024 to just 1.95 million this year. This sharp decrease has caused daily arrival figures to halve, plunging from 21,300 in January to 10,000 in May.
For the first time in 12 years, Chinese tourist arrivals are projected to fall below 5 million. Should current trends persist, 2025 might see as few as 4 to 5 million Chinese visitors, a stark contrast to the pre-pandemic peak of 11.1 million.
A significant contributor to this decline is the negative perception of Thailand, exacerbated by the film "No More Bets". The movie casts a spotlight on issues such as scams, human trafficking, and safety concerns. A Dragon Trail International survey reports a doubling in the number of Chinese tourists worried about visiting Thailand owing to safety concerns.
Supasorn acknowledged this challenge, stating, "The perception of Thailand as an unsafe destination has had an impact." In response, he urged a comprehensive overhaul of Thai tourism, shifting focus towards quality, sustainability, and diversification.
He advocates for welcoming back Chinese tourists while also opening new markets, notably India, projected to overtake Russia as the third-largest source of tourists due to recently implemented free visa policies. Supasorn also stressed the importance of attracting high-income tourists and bolstering domestic tourism as a reliable revenue source.
Thailand's global competitiveness in tourism has also waned, as evidenced by the country's drop to 47th place in the 2024 Travel & Tourism Development Index. To counter this, Supasorn suggests enhancing safety and hygiene standards, developing new tourist routes, and positioning Thailand as a leader in sustainable tourism.
"Thailand must adapt or risk being left behind," he warned. "The time for change is now."
With these strategic recommendations, Thailand aims to reclaim its status as a premier global tourist destination, ensuring sustainable growth and resilience amidst evolving global challenges.

You get what you pay for. My health is worth more to me than a Thai government hospital.
As always, balance. My health is important to me, but so are my other living expenses.
When I am unable to live as I choose because insurance costs are so high I must review whether I need to be looked after in luxury and overcharged for everything. If I say I do not need to be admitted the insurance will not pay for anything.
Overpriced insurance and overpriced hospitals are in it together and it is not for our benefit.

Or, you could just go to a government hospital and receive treatments for free or a very, very low cost.
I think you can not get it for free.
Thai people can not. It is definitely cheaper, but even for Thai people the treatment on offer may not give them what they need. And then they must ask how much for what they need? It will not be 30 baht.
