"Honey, we're not going to Thailand because we could die"
"But darling, no visa fee. We can save $20!" (or whatever fee is)
"Oh, that changes everything! Life is valuable but $20 is $20."

Show me a Thai government that has lasted 20 years, and then we can talk about 20 year strategies...

"mother of all wars" vs "Father of lies". Look out Iran: although Trump prefers domestic violence, he's not above taking swings at friends and foes alike... maybe you should learn Russian?

Good info. Now we can watch out for those indicators and avoid in the future

Agree on hardware store items. I also like Aussie licorice, certain hot sauces, whole bean coffees, guitar strings & maybe a mini amp or another guitar. Ah, pepperocini (did I misspell?), fisherman's sandals. Blu ray discs ("Twin Peaks: the Return" a must get).... hmmm

There were a news story about a major Chinese wifi router manufacture. They planned to cut their profit margin to maintain their retail price in the US after the tariffs are imposed.
In this case the tariffs are transferring revenue from the Chinese manufacturing sector to American tax payers, with ZERO effect for American consumers.
If Chinese cut profit margin but sell at same price it will not harm American consumers, as they will see no change in price. The hit will be to Chinese manufacturers. Tariffs will increase taxes collected for America, so that could be seen as a plus for USA. Somebody has to make up for all that dough given to the rich.
I am not a fan at Trump at all. Just want to point out that I think your conclusion is a bit off
Sooner Trump gone the better

" On the other hand, this Cohen guy seems to be way out of his depth. Leaving tapes and incriminating evidence around in houses/office of record when No Knock search warrants are imminent? Really, Bro?!?!? Amateur hour! "
Hardly. It was insurance. Surely you have seen movies "If anything happens to me, this packet will go straight to DA".
Leaving that lying around was smart, if Cohen plays it right. If he turns (which would be right choice) he doesn't become dinner but rather the chum that helps land the great white whale.

Recall "Hope Hicks, said, “We have no knowledge of any of this.” She said Ms. McDougal’s claim of an affair was “totally untrue.”" She should have stopped at "We have no knowledge"

Served me time around the Malaysia and Soi Sri Bamphen........ Them were the days...... Blue Fox ?
Ah, the Blue Fox, remember it well... first trip I wondered if I could make it back to Malaysia Hotel without being propositioned. Somehow when I came back next year I must have had "the look" I'd been here before and wasn't such easy pickins.

I foresee announcement during 2020 election cycle from N Korea that they are dismantling whatever, lessening arsenal etc. Seems they would want to back Trump, he's a fella they can work, er, work with. Empty gestures are his stock in trade

There have been numerous sinkings & collisions here in Pattaya, and officials swore they'd get on top of this and wouldn't happen again.
Were they lying to us? Shocking!

You can keep the sizzle. I'd rather have the steak.

"He then told a friend of the victim that she was next."
Should be grounds to revoke bail. And making that threat is a crime in most countries with justice system.
" An assault is carried out by a threat of bodily harm coupled with an apparent, present ability to cause the harm. It is both a crime and a tort and, therefore, may result in either criminal or civil liability. "

You're right. Trump is a stable genius.
If we want peace, all we have to do is surrender
Brilliant
Some adjustments will have to be made in USA afterwards, but Americans need to be flexible

Some optimists thought Trump hit bottom couple of days ago, but I didn't think so and was vindicated!
When Trump hits bottom, he starts digging!
To even "weigh" this is an affront to all Americans, Trump base included. Seems it should be a no brainer, even for a no brainer.
It is like low life neighbor telling you he wants to have sex with your 14 year old daughter.
Do you say "Let me go home and weigh that proposal"?

I think you in part answered your own question ? Newbie backpackers often don't compare prices of what available elsewhere in country, but rather "It's sooo much cheaper than at home!" Yep, they are clueless, being newbies and all... at least there was no internet back when I started coming, so I somewhat had an excuse... there was no Khao San action either. Most was up by Malaysia Hotel... I think there is also factor of "I want to go to Thailand so I can say I went, but I want to hang around with people just like back home".

Trump is trying to up ante and distract by now "considering" handing over former US ambassador to Russia to Putin for questioning. “By failing to reject the idea out of hand – immediately and forcefully – Trump signaled that absolutely nothing is off limits when it comes to Putin. " Take a look on Dailybeast for more info

Not true
Section 330. Truth as a Defense
In case of defamation, if the person prosecuted for defamation can prove that the imputation made by him is true, he shall not be punished. But he shall not be allowed to prove if such imputation concerns personal matters, and such proof will not be benefit to the public. So any decent lawyer would argue the knowledge of the dodgy business, Condo manager, would be of benefit to public to avoid further scamming..
Thanks for the update... so if this is how it is, why won't news sources (sadly, including TV) name names? Fear of lawsuit anyway? Programmed in "always defer to superiors"?

" As is customary in such cases the condo complex - described as prestigious - was not named in the Daily News report. "
One more reason (as if more are needed!) to change awful defamation law here. Even if truth be told, can be sued and jailed if it damages reputation. Insane

Judge asked her lawyer if she might need a translator. No, she has testified under oath before. In closed session of Congressional committee. Hmmm
Her alleged boss Torshin also has met with Trump administration officials privately even though his bank was under sanctions. hmmm
On the bright side, now NRA and some other non profits as of today are not required to reveal donors. There's a pipeline Russia could use.

Might be more useful to say where heavy rain is not predicted.
