  1. Anyone know a good, reputable place to rent a motocy from for a week, maybe around Buakhow, Diana or second road?

And maybe a place where they take a copy of the passport and not the passport itself.

    Thanks

    Jack

  2. (Unless one has a woman/women/automobile who are in for, say, a third of it) 70,000 is more than enough to live a really decent lifestyle here in Bangkok. My friend Cal does it on two-thirds of that.

Living by the school will be both and good and bad. It's a little off the beaten farang track so it'll be really cheap. But you'll have to take a taxi (or a bus if you're really adventurous) to get to the BTS to get to any farang-friendly fun spots. The Morchit BTS Station is close.

Brings lots of summer clothes. This place is about as it hot as it can be.

None of my business but what are the other two offers. Either of them near/on the BTS or subway (MRT)?

  3. Have a question please.

My 90 day reporting date is the 15th (of this month).

    My extension expires the 26th.

I plan on going in on the 21st to apply for a new one-year extension.

My question is, with my extension expiring on the 26th, would they (even) give me another 90 days if I was to go to Chaeng Wattana on the 15th?

If I don't get a current 90 day, my concern is they will look askew at an extension request package which includes a 90 day report past it's due date.

    Thanks

    Jack

  4. Good post.

How do you expats feel about living here in light of recent

    events?

I feel it is important to keep a (larger) supply of Coke Zero, water, Lay yellow and Heineken in the house.

If things get bad, are you planning to stay?

    Depends on how bad.

    Why stay?

Usual suspects = low cost of living, great food, great weather, political correctness not run amok, no Fox news, Noi, Nit, Nat, Ning, Nong, etc.

Do you feel like Thailand can rise above it's problems, and create a stable

    country?

It's politics are none of my business and otherwise it's looked pretty stable to me for the time I've lived here as far as most people getting up and going about their business everyday.
