Well not much fool, the US did very little to make Cambodia a household world before or after the nation pulled out of the war - which we did when I was entering puberty at 13. To save time and hassle, you can doctor up most sauces to make a respectable red sauce. The big problem is if you use a sauce with a lot of sugar. Anyway, you can add paste, olive oil, garlic, onion and veggies.

I worked with an agency when I first came to Thailand. Look for one that will send you visa documents to you in your country so that you can get the proper visa before entering (saves hassles later), and also offers reimbursement for work permit expenses.

If you can, look for something that is a semester long contract. If you love where you are after the first semester, sign on again. If not, then it was only a half of a year and you can try to find something else yourself. That's what I did.

Yes work permit a must, i just shipped my personal belongings from Hong Kong to BKK, using asian tiger (shipping company). Tried to send it in my wifes name (thai) but still had to pay taxes as she didnt stay in HK more then a year that was required. Ended up paying 5500b. Also asian tigre would NOT be able to ship items in my name as no WP!
