  1. I agree, twice have had drivers go to the back of my Condo Galae Thong where there is no access. Wasted 20 minutes trying to communicate with the driver. Two more problems involved being charged 35 baht cancellation fee, must admit the complaint response is great with the fee being promptly reversed.

Foreign Companies trying to enter this market need to be far professional and more aware that different conditions are in place

Must be a software problem as I have no problems with Grab.

Unfortunately it's only the Yanks (Sorry...Americans) that are able to rock up to their embassy/consulate and swear an oath to say they have the required funds for the appropriate visa.

The rest of us have to prove it in cold hard cash.

With the comparison between marriage or 'retirement' I am led to believe that the 'retirement' visa is a lot less hassle paperwork wise.

I've had a few friends that reverted back to retirement visa as the marriage visa is a crock to work thru/abide by. Too many hoops to jump through.

You can always chat to the friendly staff at Assist Thai Visa or any other like minded agencies.  They do provide a great service.

    NOT just the yanks

Easiest way to kill it all off, set up checkpoints on Walking Street and other streets with CCTV cameras trained on the entrance. Make sure that everyone entering removes glasses and hats

    ....then

    make the footage available online.

Most sex tourists don't want it known that they come here to pay for sex with prostitutes.

They hate being videoed in the bars in case their wives or families back home find out about it.

    Genius......

This bird is driving me crazy. It chirps ALL night long incessantly. I recorded this clip on my iPhone at 1am this morning. It usually carries on for most of the night and through the day too.

I am hoping someone can identify it then I can research it. I'd like to know what times of the year it is likely to be resident, because if it's a permanent fixture I need to find a new room. I can block out lots of 'Thai' noises, but not this for some reason. I've not slept properly in months :saai:
