    You need to get out of Bangkok. North or south. I live in Udon and have found lots of riders that are up for trips all the time. There are 100 of good mountain roads between Udon and Chiang Mai. We are getting close to the time of year there will lots of biker meets. Once you start going to them you will meet more people that like riding. Also Try the Meet UP for Thailand and GT Riders and post some rides you want to do and you will get some interested people.

  2. who on earth goes out at 5.30 am for a ' Pleasure Ride ' :blink:

    They were finishing off a long night of pleasure, or they were nuts, or they don't have a happy marriage , or they were out at that time as there would be no road blocks, or going shopping at quiet time at 7-11, or early start for a visa run. but agree with boater============who on earth is riding for pleasure at that time--my mother used to say-if you were out at that time you were up to no good :lol:

    Hmmm. Up at that time you are up to no good???? I like to get up at that time and get as much work done as possible before it gets hot. I also like getting up at that time just for the peace and quite when I have nothing to do. And if I have to run to town it is a good time no traffic. I find all these things pleasurable. I can't see were any of those things is up to no good.

  3. First and easiest step is to streamline the beauracraticle nightmare of visa and workpermit bullsh#it.

    A system similar to Cambodia would bring in much more startup businesses and provide more employment for Thai workers.

    But it takes a business minded person to impiment those ideas. the ousted Dems were focused in the opposite direction.

    They wanted only to remove the farangs.....but couldnt seem to understand that Thai jobs were lost because of that.

    Where do you get that the Democrats wanted to remove farangs?

    Well Gess did you ever read the news papers and news, If you had you would,t have to ask a stupid question.

  4. Yes I do. I am looking at getting one when I get back to Thailand in nov. I am under the impression that this guy brings these in from Europe and has a few. Any way I know he is getting ready to leave on a trip for a few months but should be still here for a few more weeks.

    I tend to agre with that last statement. I think I would be blown off my bike before reaching that speed.

  6. Timthai

    I have shipped mostly everything from the states. I have meet a few venders at biker meets that offer some good deals on things they stock but usually is for the HD. Like you say better selection and price.

    I have been also looking at the new Cobra fuel controller but want to wait until I see more feed back before forking out close to &500 plus tax and shipping. I have the Cobra FI 2000 and it does just fine. Just find someone that is running close to the same set up with exhaust and intake and get there settings for the MAP.

    Also get on the forums state side for the 900 Vulcan. I belong to one for the Fury and find out the best prices on parts new products coming and group buys that make some of the bigger priced items more reasonable

    Oh yes and you will also need to get the Irate grill to.

  7. Here some info:

    3G -> 3.9G

    image002.jpg

    There seems to be confusion when people discuss terms like 3.5G, 3.75G so i decided to define them. I am sure people who have objections will comment. Lets first start with 2G systems:2G = GSM2.5G = GPRS2.75G = EDGE Then moving onto 3G systems:3G = WCDMA, R99 (i am not looking at other technologies but similar mapping will apply)

    3.5G = HSDPA3.75G = HSUPA3.8G = HSPA+ (HSPA Enhancements)3.85G = 'HSPA+' + MIMO

    3.9G = LTE 4G = NOT WiMAX

    Finally some one understands !!.........

    It is all over my head I am Tec challenged.

    Will it give us a faster and more reliable connection to the internet?

    Or is it going to just be for Telephones and other type communication devises?

    that being the case what will it mean too me with my five year old Nokia?

    Any simple answers would be appreciated.

    I don't think it will improve the internet unless you use an air card. What it should do is improve internet on the phones (smart phones)

    But really what is about to happen is TOT has just figured out a way to double you cell phone bill tell you that you now have 3G and put all the money for new equipment and towers in there pockets. That is why it took so long to get the new technology released. They had to make sure everyone is going to get there cut.

  8. It always takes a while for the green book. I have bought 3 bikes in the last 3 years. One was just a ownership and name change and that was only about 2 weeks to get. The others they have always said you will get the green book in about 2 weeks. I think what they mean to say is in about 2 weeks they will think about starting to the paper work to get the green book. Any way one took 3 months to get and the last one we bought took almost 5 months. Plates seems to come first but they still took 2 months.

    Now after they told us that it will be 2 weeks my wife starts stopping in every trip into town and calling almost every day. And when she does she makes quite a nusance of her self. I am not sure if that helped speed things up or not. I do know they must have been tired of seeing her.

  9. I am having a new license plate holder made in the states for my bike in Thailand. I need the measurements for the Thai bike plates

    Does any one know or could some measure the plate please.

    I have posted on another forum but that question has proved to be way to tough for them.

  10. I agree with Jackjones and funcat. There is a lot that can be done with that engine. You have to realize that stock the manufacture has to choke the intake and exhaust and squeeze the fuel back to meat emissions. By simply changing the air cleaner to get more air and exhaust you have just improved it some. But now you have leaned the fuel by add more air. That engine was delivered from Honda with the least amount of fuel they could get by with to pass emissions. If it is carbed change the jets or if injected add an FI or a fuel controller and bingo more fuel.

    Buy doing just those 3 little mods you have not broke the piggy bank and all can be done in an afternoon well maybe a full day with beer breaks.

  11. Hey I am innocent of these charges now. It was not me I loved the little girl jumping up and down so happy and almost full of life. Some on here thought she was just a little to happy and needed to wear more clothing, but being that she was always jumping for joy she would work up quite a sweat so more clothes was out of the question for her. I can not comment any further on the case as the suspects are still under investigation.

  12. I regret to inform everyone that the Honda Girl was brutally attached and erased by the click of the delete button today at her home on TV.

    I know most of you that frequent the bike forum have run across her a few times as she is standing there jumping for joy. For most of us she has always put a smile on our face and made us feel just a little bit better every time we seen her. She only had a short life on the pages of TV but she will be missed dearly by those that new her.

    Funeral and memorial services have yet to be announced

  13. Wow I haven't checked back in on this thread since it was first posted and what a read. I would not try riding bike without plates and having all the paper work I need in my home country I am sure not going to do as a guest in another country.

    I don't know for sure what the plate law is but they do have plates for bikes and vehicles and common since tells me that you should have one and if there are the majority of the bikes I see have a plate then their must be a law that says you need one or you would not see any Plates on any bike. Common since also tells me that if you have not paid all the taxes and done all the inspections you need to have done you are not going to get a plate.

    I do have an imported bike and I made sure that everything was done had the green book in hand excise tax import duty all the way to having plate in hand before the bike hit the road along with insurance. Way Way to much money to loose.

    Yes in Thailand you can get away with a lot of things and many do, until one day they get hit hard for it and find 100 or 200 BT will not get them out of it and then cry about how unfair things are. I think as foreigners in the Kingdom we should try following the laws they have even though the Thais sometimes don't. And sometimes they make absolutely know since at all but still they are their laws.

    And once again it is just common since guys

  14. A lot of <deleted> written here by posters.

    If a Thai musician, or sportsperson, comes to UK or USA to do their thing, they need a performers or sporting visa. No difference here.

    I knock Thailand a lot, but I don't see why people who can strum a guitar, or play the piano, should get off with financing their stay here by earning a few baht without the proper permissions and permits.

    I don't know the work visa for Thailand but I am not sure there is a permit or permissions that can be had like the US or UK. It just seems to me that all of this only hurts Thailand not help or protect the Thais. But thats Thailand the HUB of Stupidity

  15. I bought the Scorpion alarm system

    It has modules to add onto the basic package. The one I have has the mercury switch and a horn that is ear pericing with a remote that automatically arms it when you walk away. If the alarm goes of it notifies you through the remote. I added the sonar module so if someone gets within 4 inches of the seat it will go off. I also have the kill switch so it cuts the ignition when alarm is activated. Also you can activate the kill switch from the remote if the bike is strong armed from you.

    Only down fall with this system is the remote is rechargeable witch is good as long as you remember to charge it. If it goes dead as you are cruising down the road the alarm system thinks you have walked away. Then the alarm starts sounding and it is ear pericing through the helmet and over the load pipes. Then the engine shuts down. Its just better to make sure its charged before riding.

  16. I think Scubabudda has the same perspective as I do although his bike may go faster. I have had mine fury at 185 or a little faster of course that is on the speedo not GPS. So much of it depends on were you are and what time of day and what the traffic is like.

    I think some of the roads I am on some 60 may be quick enough. I also like going just a little faster than the ones in front so I don't have to worry about them but not so fast I can't avoid the hazards as the come up. But then the Fury is more for cruising and I am just as Happy at 80 as I am 180.
