You will be one of the few still standing up in the cinema these days then? My mrs used to, not any more. The internet has helped enlighten a lot of Thais about their own history.

I don't go cinema, and I have noticed the lack of respect for the royal family over the years seems to be going same way as UK.

I will always have respect as a matter of course because that's the way I was brought up.

What about corruption and better public education ?

What about it the same in many countries around the world.

All I see is so called democracy at loggerheads already in Thailand as always it's the rich people that run the country not so much the ordinary voting people.

As for education my son has done very well after leaving Uni, his buying a condo in Bangkok and runs a business with a partner serving TV companies all done while the army guy was prime mister.

Not the same guy, but I saw a group of guys in the pool one night. They were all standing there talking and “bobbing up and down” in the water. Seemed pretty strange. In a circle maybe 2 feet personal space between them. Just old expats in the building.

Maybe it’s a European thing. In the USA guys don’t approach one another in the pool. It’s a little too personal, and never that close. That’s not for me Lol.

Maybe they were like priest's forming a circle. ????

+1 Keeping the mind and body active is paramount, it doesn’t matter what activities, walking, reading, martial arts, saying hi to strangers and sparking up a conversation. It’s a matter of initiative.

Concur, you can still find the moment for anything according to mood but always listen to your body. ????

Does drinking alcohol every day not mean a problem, would it be possible for you to have two no beer drinking days a week?

Some might call it a problem I can leave it alone if I have to for say taking medication but I enjoy my couple beers everyday.

Also once or twice a week ride my motorbike to meet with English speaking friends to intereact and have a beer with.

Many people in our village get them fixed and serviced ok they are sold in the local Big C and there's quite a few running around in our village.

I'm sure you'll be OK eventually.

I'm busy now drinking Leo, after a morning of ebike build. Tis leading me to more LEO.

My Thai friend has a chopper type E bike and has put extras on, he borrows tools from me and buys me a Chang. ????

After nearly 3 years his battery needed replacing and something to do with the drive cog whatever needed replacing at not that much cost, so all good now.

It's a stretch to say that the US is directing Ukraine to fight for its survival.  But it's kind of amusing to think that some people believe the US is fighting a proxy war against Russian imperialism.

Yeah as the war drags on I hear a lot more comments not so much in support.

There was stupid uk mp IMO saying Zelenskey should be more thankful, what a plonker.

    I go by definitions:

    proxy war
    noun [ C ]

    uk

    /ˈprɒk.si ˌwɔːr/ us

    /ˈprɑːk.si ˌwɔːr/

a war fought between groups or smaller countries that each represent the interests of other larger powers, and may have help and support from these:

Russia, a large country, invaded Ukraine, a small country.  That does not fit the definition of a proxy war.

People who call this a proxy war are trying to disguise the fact that this is a war of conquest by Russia in an attempt to recreate the Soviet empire or something similar.

This is a war of empire, and it's going badly for the would be empirical power.  It's not a proxy war.

Heres another meaning which would lead people into thinking it is.

A proxy war occurs when a major power instigates or plays a major role in supporting and directing a party to a conflict but does only a small portion of the actual fighting itself.

You're understandign of a proxy war is completely at odds with what most people think. Apart from mercenaries and volunteers, the only combatants in the Ukraine are Ukrainians. Perhaps you are thinking of the Russian allies helping it as a justification for your claim?

I haven't said it's a proxy war there are so many different people commenting on what it is.

Frankly I couldn't care less apart from find ways to stop the war and all wars in the world today.

I don't either but I read an article which explained there weren't many russian fighter jets in the air over ukraine because they were susceptible to small missiles.

Yes I believe supplied by UK. ????

I also hear what Bojo did suppyling anti tank munitions right at the beginning of the Invasion made a big difference to Ukrainians defence.

Just teach kids to look at side mirrors every 10 or 20 seconds, rather than throw them away, simple, that alone reduce risk of bike accident here by 25%...., next look before around turning anywhere , another 25% , a few more and risk reduced to the same as doing dope on a night out - try stopping that...!!!

As the chicks say in Thailand, side mirrors are for doing makeup, na ka....!? ????

Yeah whenever son or daughters borrow my scoot it's always re-adjust left wing mirror.
