I don't think that will happen, I think many would leave and many other not bother with Thailand other for holiday.

Presumably if they up the deposit to 1.2Million, they’ll up the 65K to 100K pm
Thats a significant income to have to have each month, especially as it needs to be Nett of all taxes & any expenses in your home country (approx. £31,500 pa before tax or £2,308b pm after tax).
Every falangie I know here are married and either still have retire extension or marriage extension.
2 of them don't have to show money they get 15 months stay in Thailand but have to go out of Thailand to Laos and come back in.

Yeah, very few people on U.S. social security would qualify.
I can't see that happening with Thailand ads about getting people retire in Thailand, it seems to me they want more retirees here they not want to put people off.

I know he can get a knife and kill him, this is not my question.
My questions are the legal aspects.
Well he can legally hold a gun licence and gun so wouldn't bother with a knife.
Never mind husbands, boyfriends kill girlfriends because they go out with another guy.

So would requiring 1.2 million instead of 800,000 prove anything or help anyone?........Nope it sure would not....It would just tie up more money that could not be spent in the economy....
What about using 65k a month.

The OP is talking about using Google Maps on his phone. There was no mention of him using it for live navigation.
It is also one of my pet peeves that landmarks and road names appear and disappear apparently at random when you are zooming in and out. I doubt there's any way to change this behaviour, unfortunately. But I would be happy to be proved wrong.
On my phone I can go street view to see road number and signs or when zooming in or out on road map a road number does show on and off on occasion I find.

, is their any government agency we can contact to possibly assist us? I also realize this is a common occurrence
The best way for a Thai person to leave for holiday in another country is to go to the countries embassy in question themselves.
The UK embassy was helpful to my Wife but she had to travel a long way backwards and forwards a couple of times but got her holiday visa for UK and after that a 2 year visa, all I to do was sponsor her.

Sadly, that cockney accent is all but gone. It's like if you want to hear a Martin Scorcese-level New Yawk accent, you have to go out to The Pocono's or far north New Jersey, where all the cops retired to.
My mother was a true cockney. Born within the sound of ball bag's bells, or whatever the saying is.
In its geographical and cultural senses, Cockney is best defined as a person born within hearing distance of the church bells of St. Mary-le-Bow, Cheapside, in the City of London.

The uk is a very beautiful country and I have lived in 3rd world Thailand and there is no comparison unless your chassing young girls or boys in your old age. We moved back to the uk in 2019 and never regretted it once infact the thought of moving back to thailand for more than a holiday sends shivers of fear through my children who have great lives here in the uk. The dark cloud that hangs over me is that family commitments drag us back to thailand.
Disagree I am so glad I left and never go back to uk even if you paid me.
My daughter can get me BA flight concessions return flights for me @ £200 return uk / Thailand don't wana go back to a immigration ponce dump.

As is already the case with Australia, I believe. But at least we would then be spared the Life Certificate bureaucratic nonsense which DWP insist on inflicting on us every couple of years or so! ????
There would have to be a new cut point and grandfathered date I would think although saying that I don't know what happened when Oz did it to there pension citizens.

Another frozen pension thread how many threads has this had over 20 years I've lost count.
Waste of time will never happen, if anything did happen, probably with the future uk govs they will only pay uk pensions to pensioners living in the UK cess pit.

27 minutes ago, bob smith said:I have a recurring scenario thats been going on now for about a year.
every once in a whille mrs smith will order a package online that gets delivered by a particular motorbike driver.
he delivers post/packages etc.
when i first laid eyes on him he began with pleasant small talk, then again nice and pleasant when I saw him next.
However, around the 3rd time he started with the regular nosey Thai spiel along the lines of:
'where are you come from' 'how long u been in thailand' what you do here, you have thai wife, how much money you make etc etc etc.
so around the 4th time i made it clear to him that i was too busy for chit chat and abruptly went back inside.
for the last 3/4 visits i have made it patently clear that i am not interested in any kind of friendship/chit chat with him at all.
but still he persists this morning.
'you come from where?' how long you stay here? you like thai food?
all i want to do is collect my wifes parcel and go about my business.
I do not want to chit chat and I hate small talk, especially when they are using probing questions.
why does he continue to want to befriend me if i have made it perfectly clear i dont want to?
I usually no longer open the door to postmen but today i was so busy i just answered automtaically.
do they not get the hint? do i have to tell him to eff off for it to hit home that i dont like him?
maybe next time i will let loose on him if he starts chatting me up again.
Sounds like all he wants to do is practice his English you miserable pick of work.

Send a photocopy of your passport and the passport page showing your departure date exit from Thailand to the person selling your car for you.
Whoever is selling your car get then to sent the 2 DLT papers for you to sign.

Theoretically, 95 should have a higher octane than 91. Both are 10% gasahol. I find my new car gets far better mileage with gasahol 95, over E20. Never compared it to 91. Gasahol 95 (orange) is 10% gasahol. Supposed to be easier on a newer engine. Would use benzine 95 (yellow) , but at 7 baht a liter more, seems too expensive. Hardly seems to matter with older cars.
Does anyone know the difference between 91 and 95 here? Price is almost the same, so hard to believe there is a real difference in octane. However, bike mechanics have told me 95 is better for a bike. So, there must be some reason to use it, over 91?
So called mechanics here most of them make me laugh.
Manufacturers say Honda for example make engines compatible to run on E85, E20, E95, or E91.
It is recommended that you stick to the one fuel you can get to use on a regular basis.
That said it can be a case of where you live as to the same fuel being available.
The ECU sensor operating the fuel system on the engine will adjust to different fuels.

I'm told they go out Thailand and come back with 'O' visa so they don't have to show money only the marriage cert and wife's ID and house book.
