"Hillary Clinton Condemns Trump For Paying Hush Money To Political Liabilities Instead Of Just Killing Them"  There is no link  and sarcasm be lost on you.

There was a link, but now the post has been removed. Rather, satire be lost on you. Sorry, you can demonstrate your reading skills next time. 🙂

if you do not want to be charged with crimes then it might be a good idea not to commit crimes and leave massive piles of evidence behind.

Sad. That's not at all how it works with political persecution. "Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime," Lavrentiy Beria famously said. What wasn't a crime, becomes a crime (with law enacted retroactively if necessary) or is simply alleged to be possibly a crime that'll have to be defended at ruinous cost, possibly (even probably) before biased jurors. Ruination of a career may be threatened:

Jay Bratt, the special counsel’s lead prosecutor, allegedly threatened Trump staff member Walt Nauta’s attorney, Stanley Woodward, with sabotaging his judicial nomination to the Superior Court of the District of Columbia if he could not get Nauta to turn on Trump, according to a newly unsealed motion originally filed in June 2023.

Indictments, to which our more feminine members cling religiously, don't mean a lot, as a good prosecutor can get a ham sandwich indicted. No defense is presented.

I'll leave it at that, because you're too naive for this discussion, and it's the usual waste of time attempting to educate.

The "bob smith" bot was doing well at that until recently. ISP may have cut it off for lack of payment.

I see "bob smith" tried to reboot under another alias, something about a "stiffy." Great topic for the peanut gallery but disappeared. Stay tuned.

But what happened to the Sparktrader/bignok/Dolf bot?

The remaining high-profile AI seems going strong, though the fiction about building a new PC finally fizzled out.

We're left mainly with the traditional Brown Envelope and Tea Money bots.

This year there was no paper, only a little post-it note when I asked.   Thus the confusion.

If Immigration put a charming ittle post-it note in your passport w/ the next reporting date, then that's your official notification for this time. Roll with it.

Now I'm doing it online for the past 2 times, and it appears that their system has changed to be actually every 90 days with no reset on extension day.

Far as I know the 90-day reporting date has never reset on extension day. It resets 90 days from your last report. Farang have never understood the reasoning behind this and continually whinged about it, but it is what it is.

Online reporting has taken away most of the pain--when it works, which seems to be most of the time IF you fill out the online form correctly. But they may invite you in for an in-person check anyway, as they did for me last time. I think I should be good again going forward.

  5. Luck o' the draw, really. I swore off Acers after a bad experience w/ a netbook years ago. I'd go with the top-rated brands for reliability, including used, come to that. I bought a used Dell for a knockabout and it's been great. But, as noted, you'll find testimonials in favor of Acer. Good luck. Like the backlit aspect, BTW.

Perhaps the anti-British stance a certain Aussie on here has, was maybe the same in Aus, but one tool on here does not make the Aussie populace anti-British.............🤗

True, most Aussies tend to suck up to the Brits. Fellow Commonwealth members rallying around His Majesty King Charles III, hating Starbucks and McDonald's together. So it's refreshing to find an independent thinker in the mob.

Yeah walking round with beers from the 7/11 and then walking into bars to play pool for free without buying a drink and then protesting when thw bar owners ask them to buy a drink from the bar i probably spend more in a week than they do in a month.

Nonsense. Most of the Russians are here as couples or with families. They spend more in a week than you do in 3 months. Plus they're big buyers of condo, meaning they'll spend more in one day than you do in 20 years.

A translation of a passport does not automatically add an address - to my limited knowledge

No, most crucially, after approved by MFA, it contains the official translation of your name that will be printed on the yellow book and pink card. It's entirely irrelevant whether you agree with the official spelling and wish to blow smoke. It's the one that'll be used ultimately to grant you an ID number.

Your address in the yellow book/pink card is derived from your COR provided by Immigration and verified by two Thai witnesses.

So, again the mind-boggling news: two entirely different documents, different information on each, different purposes.

Whether their attitude has changed to be more willing I don't know but it is theoretically still a ball ache if you have to get those translations from Bangkok.

Their attitude has always been quite willing and they'll readily give you a list of requirements. Lot of nice ladies in that office. For me, anyway, but I'm a nice guy as well. The only question then is whether you are willing to meet them. Lots of expats have been, and are. But one man's piece o' cake is another's harsh discipline.

Up 2 U, as we say here in Pattaya.

Oh. You don't need to get the one translation of your passport from Bangkok or the MFA stamp. Pattaya translator can do all that for you.

You will need to get the verification from the Embassy that the copy of your passport is a true copy, however.

Me, I easily managed to enjoy my trip to Bangkok. Had some good food & drink, did a little shopping, enjoyed watching all the office ladies, and found some other interesting things to do. 'Course I could have done it all as a day trip from Pattaya, but I figured, why not have a change of scene?

"Stop" signs mean nothing, nor do blinking red lights.  A perfect example of growth with no planning.

Not sure about that, but they might make it a bit clearer who was at fault for the accident.

What a dangerous intersection, glad I haven't encountered it. Presumably the Swiss guy knew the route (to his meds) pretty well, so should have exercised extreme caution right there. Not to blame him for the accident. Hope he recovers well.

My agent insisted that was required too...... I use a fixed deposit that clearly shows an update that same day without moving small amounts around... what you going to do, besides to ask 'how high'?

The morning of the day I went for my extension, I got the bank letter from Bangkok Bank and they simply updated my fixed deposit bankbook to print a new line on the day. NO problem at Immigration.

I'm not saying that lifestyle changes don't play a role, but this should also be taken into account.

Yep, we're taking into this account and the wiser among us are trying to follow a health lifestyle to avoid chronic diseases associated with metabolic syndrome.

Normally when you already have a Savings Account at your local Bank branche, there is no problem at all to open a Fixed Deposit Account at that same branche.

Note that when wanting to use it for evidence of the 800K/400K funds required by Thai Immigration for Non Imm O Visa/extensions for reason of retirement, that you should be careful when transferring the funds from your current Savings Account that you do no slip - even for one moment - under the required tresshold on that Savings account.

To make absolutely sure that doesn't happen, you could do as follows:

0 - Three months after you received your 1-year Permssion to stay you are allowed to lower the amount on your personal Thai bank-account to 400.000,- THB.

1 - So after those 3 months you transfer 401K from your Savings account to your Fixed Deposit account, while making sure that there is still more than 400K on your Savings account.

2 - Wait 1-2 days and then transfer once again 401K from you Savings account to your Fixed Deposit account, which would now have +800K in funds (always best to have a couple 1.000 THB extra to avoid slipping under the tresshold because of bank-transaction fees).

3 - When applying for your 1-year extension of stay based on your Non Imm O Visa for reason of retirement, do bring the Bank Account statements of BOTH accounts, as well as both Passbooks of these accounts with you.  Depending on your Imm Office you might also have to bring copies of all transactions being done on these accounts.  And some Imm Offices want you to also provide a 1-year Transactions statement showing all funds-movements of these accounts during the 1 year preceding your application.

When I moved my B800,000 from a restricted deposit account (for USA SS transfers) to a regular fixed deposit account, I just transferred the entire amount in one go at the bank.

Subsequently, Immigration found no gap in my meeting the requirements and granted my retirement extension.
