  1. depending on the year of vehicle, there are a number of hoses and joints that run the fuel system.

You didn't mention if the the smell is after a fill up or just crusing down the road. Does hit happen during acceleration or decel?

Does it happen cold or hot?

An aged car becomes a clsassic after a while, proper maintenace can keep a vehicle running well and safe.

  2. If you have GigE devices, ie switch and computer, it doesn't matter. GigE uses all 4 pairs and is smart, so a cross over or straight cable works.

Not true of 10/100 which uses the first and second pairs and is much more intolerant.

  3. Try ClamXav, also free and has until now always been able to find and remove infected files for me.

Also make sure you completely remove the email from your email server, it may resync the file.

Clam is now asking for donations to go beyond 30 days support

  4. Would the A/C not function as a heater if you make it warm enough? I've run my honda A/C at 30 degrees C and it blows out hot air. Just a thought...

If the the ranger is not produced / sold in Europe, wouldn't getting parts be a pain?

What you might be feeling is the hot air from outside and the A/C compressor not being turned on much or at all. Or, your A/C unit is out of freon. If there were 5 C air outside, you'd feel the cold air. And air cons are not heat pumps.

Adding a heater core is the difficult part as the whole heater / AC evaporator unit typically has to come out to get the heater core installed, assuming the plenum unit has the mounting for the heater core. You might find 2 plugs where the heater core lines come through the firewall and the control valve wouldn't be too hard to install, if the wiring is part of the harness. Then you'd need the water connections on the engine and some heater hose. You also might need the control levers to make it work. Finding the parts in Thailand might be a real hunt.

Taking the dashboard apart to get to the heater core area is not a fun job.

  5. serial is pins 2(Transmit), 3 (receive) and 7 (ground) on a DB-25.

    DB-9 is 2, 3 and 5.

2 and 3 can and often are reversed to match the device being connected.

A simple way to connect to your board is to get a DB-9 female connector and 3 wires you solder to the board and the DB-9, then using a db-9 male to female cable to your usb-to-serial converter connect the pc to the s3. Pin out for the board should be available, ground is easiest to find with a meter, 2, 3 then can be swapped as necessary to make it work.

Then you only have to worry about baud rate and if N-8-1 or other Parity, data length and stop bits are necessary which should be in the documentation.

Looking at some antminer links, the left most pin of the debug is ground (GND), the far right is transmit (TX) and the center is receive (RX)

One guy who seem to have similar problems on a couple of his s3 boards said to power off, connect a jumper (paper clip) between GND and TX on the board, power on and then remove the jumper.

  6. Some of the replacement disks come as a kit with a USB to SATA converter. If the one you buy didn't come with one, you can also buy an inexpensive USB external enclosure to house the old disk.

Using the converter you can setup and test the new drive and even test it's bootability before doing the swap.

And while you're planning your next disk upgrade, plan and verify your backup strategy.
