    Rimping Price Increase

    I also saw the sign the other day. I think this is in reference to local Thai beef. The prices have continually gone up and up over the past couple of years and the Thai beef is now more expensive than US and Australian beef or at the least the prices are comparable. Strange in a country where corn is cheap and there are few transportation and butchering costs. At The Duke's we have been using US Black Angus chuck and shortplate for our burgers for a few months. The price is cheaper and the the quality and yield are better. If I had to take a guess for the price increase for the local beef I would have to say that according to Thai supply and demand economics the sales volume is down and so the price has to go up so there can be more profit. I've been looking to switch to Australian or American burger beef for years so I wish the local farmers good luck and I thank them for helping me to make the change.

    Normal pink salt is 1 nano2 to 15 nacl. For a typical brine cure mix 42 g pink salt with 350 g salt and 175 sugar. Dissolve in 4 lif water. Immerse ham in brine once its cooled and turn every day for 7 days

    i just paid 30k baht for a car policy and got the paperwork the following day (as they were clearing out the office) so I don't think there is anything to worry about. I guess some of us wont mind dealing with the Pattaya office (where they are very quick to deal with emails etc) and those who require the personal touch will have to look elsewhere.

    Pon Yang Kum has very good beef. They cut to spec. in a glassed in cool room. I've never asked for them to grind but it would be well worth the trip to go check it out and see.

    Where Can I Buy A Dish Washing Machine?

    Everyone I know who buys a dishwashing machine say that they rarely use it. They have a maid to clean and the maids don't want to use the machines. They regret spending the money and the wasted space of an unused appliance in the kitchen.

    Please send me a PM with the details of any of your friends who wants to get rid of one. I'm in the market anytime between now and October.
