Sounds like you need the language to accumulate the 50 points?
Yes you are correct, I need at least 8 points from language.

By the way for all of the interviews dont worry too much if you can't speak much Thai. I can't even string a sentence together & I've had Thai citizenship for over a year now. If you're applying on the basis of marriage to a Thai you don't need to speak Thai & if you have enough points already then don't get stressed about it
Really? I was told by the SB that I had to improve on my written and conversational Thai before I apply.

That's changed recently, as of now AED's are legal to use in Thailand by the public.Back home a defibrillator would have been handy nearby in most cases.considering all the elderly retirees around there should be some handy for emergencys
Not allowed here. Only for Doctors!

I've seen the cctv and the bike rider was wrong.(overtaking on the left hand side)Speeding?
Not trying to undertake a vehicle turning left might have been a contributing factor too!
Was the truck indicating? Did it's brake lights work?
No, blamed on speeding rider again, easy target!

Bangkok Airways flies Phuket to Hat Yai.I think its a great idea. There are no flights from Had Yai to Phuket or Trang or Krabi a train would be great, buses are slow and uncomfortable. I just hope they have a bar car.

They are still operating, located in Pahklok.

I stand corrected; the sign is only showing the way to the existing museum. So the question remains; what is it going to be?
-
It's going to be a museum according to the signs outside the site.

Unlikely, the sound comes from the hillside. Seems someone's having parties in one of the big properties there.Loud music in Bang Po for the last three weekends. Anyone know where it's coming from? It starts around midnight and goes on until 07.00-08.00.
Shame, it was a nice and quiet area until now.
With current winds, Koh Phangan.
Time to move somewhere else...

The site complete with big signboard is still a weed covered block of land on Soi 1 Maenam, probably a piece of land sold for some exhorbitant price amongst influential friends. Meanwhile the overcrowded immigration office remains just that, often 'packed to the eyeballs' by hopefull applicants.
Why they cannot have a floor in the new Customs building opposite the Seatran Ferry terminal, is beyond me, this would be an ideal place for them.
? I think you are looking in the wrong place sailor...
The structure is up but there is not much progress there now.

I think you might be looking for a company called Sunsetter?
Used to be where DHL was for a while.
I have not seen them for quite sometime so maybe they left?

Lots of maintenance work on the high voltage cable during the last couple of weeks.
That's probably why you had some power cuts.

Did it myself. Went to Asan (Suratthani) and renewed at the labour department.
-
gMy Thai partner tried for 3 weeks to renew my WP, as we do ourselves for 3 years now. Apparently, the 'labour office' (thats what she calls it) which is open here on Samui every Wednesday, was the last 3 weeks either closed or had 1 staff with a smug face telling her they are not processing any applications right now, also not in the main office in Surratthani.
Maybe next week was not really a very assuring comment.
Does anybody have more info regarding this matter, e.g. is the Surat office processing such requests, or are there any 'agents' who can 'facilitate' the renewal?
According to law my WP must be renewed until end of the month, and of course I need it for renewing my business visa next month, so there is a certain urgency to the matter.
Any constructive ideas would be very much appreciated, I guess there there must be quite a few people in the same situation out there, unless you all have lawyers taking care of that.
PS.: Must say am a bit pissed about the whole situation, cannot renew my WP/visa but sure have to carry any consequences which might arise! I know, TiT, but still...
Renewed my WP about 10 days ago, no problem.
