  1. Hi

Had one of these for a couple of years and no problems

However, when changing my laptop to Win7 the scanner facilities didn't work. Searched high and low for a solution but Brother support sites useless. Anybody had the same problem and solved it?

If all else fails anyone recommend a compact printer/scanner preferably laser?

I live in Hua Hin but will be in Bangkok later next week

    Any advice appreciated

  2. The bikers are creating all sorts of problems in HH now.

Parking where they want and using abusive language to the Thais or farangs for that matter who complain. and Burning it up in quiet sois to annoy all and sundry

Thais generally have a long fuse but provoked and losing face they go bananas

Seen it many times in HH. BK and KK and it's usually the Harley boy with a big chopper and a small willie or some nut who has a karate dan. They invariably promote conflict by using western style abuse to a Thai situ

They cannot win and should either get streetwise or pi** off.

In this particular case I heard from a witness that the biker after being politely asked to park his bike properly started F'ng and Blinding at the top of his voice. He got what he deserved IMO

  3. HI

I am Richard and live in Khon Kaen

I frequently go to Hua Hin for a break and usually fly to BKK and then taxi it down

I here there is a very good VIP bus service from Korat to Hua Hin direct. Not sure if this service operates from Khon Kaen but has anyone any experience and timetables and telephone numbers?

    Thanks

  4. I recemtly wrote up my experiences and posted it on HHAD and Kon Khaen.com. I have also had it published in several magazines.

I have come to terms with it but need a break every month in KK and Hua Hin every 3 months

    This is my account attached

    Cheers

I'm beginning to think the handwriting is on the wall. We've been in a rural village near Sao Kaeo for about two months and I'm not sure I can adapt.

The most difficult is the early morning noise starting at 6am or earlier (like blasting one hour public announcements, music, ceremonial flute music/chanting, food vendors, you name it) which prevents me from getting a decent sleep and puts me right off in a lousy mood each day. This morning some nearby farmer is burning something and I can't sit outside because of the smoke. Man oh Man.

The wife won't be happy to hear this, especially since her family also lives here in the village (an additional difficulty), but I am thinking life in a quiet, clean high-rise in Jomtien or Pattaya may be a necessity for me. I also really miss the western food and English speaking businesses but that is a different matter.

Has anybody successfully adapted to village life like this? I need to hear a success story.

  5. Hi I am Richard and have just joined so still trying to navigate the forum

I have lived in Thailand for 10 years in BK, HH and KK. I now live in a village 70 kms north east of KK and recently had this article published by 2 other forums and some magazines. I am now getting interest from western press so I am looking for feedback

    Thanks
