It's tough to say if I would have 3G coverage by looking at that map,

I'm definitely close to a deadzone. I know when I first moved here I

used truemove for my cell phone, and the signal at my house was not

good. I'm guessing it hasn't changed.

.. i think i was in the same situation as you.

For 899.-- Bath you can buy a True UBS - Aircard and then it may works same as where i stay. (True shop / 7 Eleven / ..?)

(where i stay, true tel. does not work , but the UBS stick doestongue.pngclap2.gif )

  2. I use SCB and have very few problems. Very easy Internet access. Once my wallet was stolen and they only charged me B200 to replace the card and they were very courteous.

I would run away from K-Bank and Bangkok Bank is a pain in the butt. I had a Krungsri account which was ok but I like the SCB Internet access. A piece of cake to set up.

    ... but only the card is Bath 1500.-- / year ;-) !?

  3. Yes, Yahoo sucks, but so do all of the 'FREE' email providers. Yahoo

will now ask for confirmation (beyond your password) if you even use a

different computer (same IP connection) to log in.

Who uses his email for private reasons, is with a free mail provider 100 % O.K. !?

Newer had any problem with yahoo. May about this: @whisbang if you even use a

    different ...... For your safty coffee1.gif ?

Try to log in NEW an take " forget password " - Then follow the advise in the E-Mail you will become immediatly.

  4. I would like to live in Thailand without working and without studying
and without having to duck and dive every few weeks/months to renew my
    visa.

I would like to have it like this too. But sorry, up to now sick.gif , this is not possible in Thailand.

Every year the same but new papers for the visa, and every 90 days somebody has to confirm your adresse.

  5. This is in one way simple. The law is clear, if any foreigner is detained by the authorities [in all their manifold guises] they are required to advise the individual's embassy as a matte of urgency. No ifs, buts, or maybes.

This is serious breach whatever the circumstances. It is even more troubling that an individual should be held apparently incommunicado and the tale is then that she is guilty of a crime [but has not been brought before a court] to excuse this failure to meet basic legal safeguards.

Even if she is guilty of any crime the requirement to notify stands.

Y E S !!! ..... and if she had, as stated, a Tourist - Visa, she did not to have to pay at all.!? bah.gif

  6. This is may something, but still not good!! w00t.gif

.... Reentry-Visas has to be possible to make at THE AIRPORT !!

    Sorry, was to fast. wai.gif

    Page 2:

Also, the Immigration desk at Suvarnabhumi for re-entry permits is only for those who have outbound international flights that same day or perhaps early the next morning (the early morning hours after midnight).

Even if it might be convenient for a non international flyer to go there, they won't issue a non-flyer a re-entry permit there....

=> There is again a queu for re-entry-visas at the Airport. They do make the pictures too! wai.gifthumbsup.gifclap2.gif

  7. Since Thailand is so obviously short of skilled electricians (of the domestic variety at least) is there anything to stop him setting up a Thai company and employing a few locals to train in addition to working himself? Does such work have some kind of reserved status that stops that? Obviously not a runner until he is fluent Thai speaking, so maybe 2 or 3 years down the track in implementation but at that age he has a long life to plan for!

I think this is one of the professions aliens are not allowed to work in, then Thais can do this work too.

You do need a compagie with 2 million (?) capital and at least 4 thaiworkers for every alien. ...

  9. You can apply for a Work Permit with a Tourist Visa but it will not be issued until you have the appropriate Visa/Extension of stay.

    1. Good luck.

    BUT

    2. Do not break up all your connections in the UK. May you have to go back to work to the UK from time to time!

    3. Your money will may last 2 years, if you don't have any other income.

    4. Stay first for may 1 year in Thailand, learn thai, look around, before you start a small business (as told, 40k Pound will not last long and you never can have your own compagnie!)

    5. Do not forgeth to make a good insurance ( may health and for a later pension .....)

    6. ... and a lot more

have enough money for myself. I consider my self tourist as I have no home, no car, no motobike and don't pay income tax in Thailand and I will leave thailand as soon I got a job.So I am tourist or not?

    Sorry, N O

Thailand does not like to have people under 50 years, who like to stay for longer hollydays! TiT

  11. .... having monthly income, prove of … 65k baht/month. Thai evidence must include a letter of certification issued by embassy/consulate.

(…stamp verified by Thai Min of For Aff Consular Dept at CW Road BKK).

IF YOU HAVE YOUR EMBASSY PAPER FROM BANGKOK, YOU DO NOT NEED THE MIN OF FOR AFF.

and i never did hear that somebody was askd about this.

  12. A foreigner and his partner is murdered in Thailand and the mods say it is not newsworthy?

A lot of foreigners get killd in the last years in the same situations. But i did never read something that the killers get behin bars.

We are only farangs and Thailand gives us sadly still not the same protection as orderd in intern. agreements :bah:. . Shame on Thailand.
