the topic took a new turn, another friend said that not only can you get a Single Re-Entry permit for a 60-days Single Entry Tourist Visa, but you can also get a Multi-Re-Entry Permit. Said it only is a matter of the costs, the Single Re-Entry permit costing 1100 THB and the Multi-Re-Entry permit would be 3800 THB.
Is that true, can you get a Multi-Re-Entry permit for a 60-day SETV ?

EDIT If he plans to stay more than 60 days in Thailand after his second entry then just enter the first time on a visa-exemption then get a tourist visa whilst in Cambodia. If the second entry will be less than 60 days just use a visa-exemption and extend if necessary.
that's what I told him as well . . .
now he has decided to change his travel plans completely . . . first off a long stay in Thailand and the trip to Cambodia afterwards . . . . just fine
He was happy for being informed of the flaws and possible fails of his initial plans and forwarded a thank you !. . better safe than sorry

Hi, and friend of me is planning to travel to India, Thailand and Cambodia. He plans to apply for a Single Entry Tourist Visa at the Thai Embassy in Germany. After his entry into Thailand he plans to stay only 14 days and then subsequently travel on to Cambodia. 2 months later he wants to re-enter Thailand again.
He asked me if it is possible to buy a re-entry permit on the Single Entry Tourist Visa , so he can use it for another entry when he is coming from Cambodia
I told him that the wording "Single Entry" means that he is actually just entitled to ONE entry, and that leaving Thailand before the initial 60 days are over, voids the Visa. As the wording tells! I also told him he could easily return by air or land border and receive a 30-day visa exempt entry (he is German) which he can extend on any immigration office inside Thailand for a fee of 1900 THB for 30 more days.
Yet he insists he can get a re-entry permit on the SETV as he claims to have read this information on a few Thailand Travel Blogs

so what's the problem? Landlords could rent out their condo for two weeks, but actually write a one-month-contract for the renter. All they need to do is adjust the price. If the rent would be 1500 THB per day for 14 days, just write in the contract 750 THB per day for 30 days.

it has never been allowed to work holding a Non-O married visa or extension. It already could be constituted illegal work if you are helping your wife in any kind of commercial business

See Post #7 and attached pic!
you are right . . . i totally missed out this photo
definitely a SHARK

the photo shows a slash cut . . . no teeth marks. Looks like he slashed his leg on a barnacled rock. But let's make it a bull shark, so Thailand get's some attention worldwide, good for tourism, more brave Norwegians will arrive soon who cannot be stopped by any shark

i have seen sharks 1 meter to 1.5 meter long when snorkeling on the east coast of Ko Tao. So why wouldn't they be wandering up north ? Absolutely credible.
Although the cut looks more like a slash, and it could easily have been caused by broken barnacles on rocks and the coral remains off the beach of Hua Hin. Myself I have slashed my lower legs once on some of these barnacles, they are razor sharp

I understand the Bank in question need you arrange the verification processes by a local phone. You got a friend or relative back in the USA ? Buy her/him a cheap smartphone or if they agree, use their US stateside number for the verification. Mind the time zone before you start the onlinebanking. Communicate with said person via Whatsapp or Skype or a normal SMS between your Thai smartphone and them. He or She will receive the TAN numbers and just has to pass the numbers on to you. There will be enough time - about a minute or two - until the TAN becomes worthless and must be requested again. Should be sufficient.
Hand your partner a Dinner Voucher for his/her support from time to time
Of course this needs a bit of communication between you and the partner, and the adaequate time-of-day choice . . . i reckon it's worth a try. I do the same when Onlinebanking with my German bank account in Thailand - the Mobile TAN is being send to my brother and he forwards it to me immediately.
In the future the Mobile TAN verifications will time out. Next is an APP called TAN2-Go and the PhotoTAN. All done by any Smartphone with respective Apps, regardless of the country you are residing and the SIM card you are using . .all you need is being connected to the internet.

no, the "curious mouse in springtime" is not a German expression. I invented it.
This morning I posted as number 5, but got deleted by the admins. Or this funny thread would not have lasted for five more minutes!
Thanks to you April fools! 5555555555!!!!

It's (tin)can of Aussie beer served so cold it can cause frostbite.
It can also mean a small aluminium boat, probably made from recycled tinnies.
recycled tinnies ??. . that's what the Buddha image in the mountain south of Pattaya is made from. Gold plated tinnies . . .( i had a good pair of binoculars)
with good optics ya can see the Coke & Fanta logos shinin' through

Just be more empty grab cars driving around. I'd rather not make IT geeks richer.
. .you might be absolutely right about that . . . Thai taxi drivers love to cram around empty . .
I completely forgot . . .a GRAB driver who gets waved down can still offer a taxi ride free of the GRAB provision . . .
my guess . . . GRAB will expand like crazy and the drivers are happy for the opportunity.
It will still mean . . .an incoming call answered by 100 Grab Taxidrivers means 99 of them have to give in to the ONE lucky driver
-
we can call ourselves lucky to be able to just wave a taxi down at any streetside in Bangkok . . .
if likes of GRAB and UBER take full control, it could mean one good thing - no empty taxis polluting the air while driving around looking for passengers . . . .
However then you need a lot of parking spaces for taxis-on-the-wait-for-an-APP-call
. . .and you need EVERYBODY to be equipped with a Smartphone, not excluding Grandma & Pops
.. i guess the future is not very far away

i hope he will still be happy when his self-employed enterprise will get taxed for the first time . . . . if he hasn't based his calculations onto this yet, he will be in for a surprise.
as UBER and the likes shift all duties & responsibilities to the drivers.
They alone pay for the car, the repairs, they need to pay for all the insurances (passengers liabilities!!) , they carry the risk of car breaking down, accident, kidnapping, robbery et cetera.
Health insurance
Maybe his prior jobs were such a mess that UBER sounds like a good alternative
But has he ever made up a realistic calculation . . is he aware of the total outcome? I know many happy drivers who come home with 65 Dollars and tell their wife happily that they believe they have earned 65 dollars today - forgetting to deduct their expenses. . . . . . . .
In highly civilized countries like my own (Germany) online grabbers are regarded as being cynically antisocial

sorry for replying so late . . .
I found these terms in the German ClickThai Dictionary . . .
there is an English version of this dictionary (which actually is a fantastic dictionary that works in both ways and also with sound)

go to this page and enter "autistic" :

Wrong!
Trading can not be suspended for any reason...total exaggeration! Also any investor worth his salt will always read the fine print.....at least there is some. With physical gold there is not, and you can lose it through theft, fire, robbery, and a million other ways.
As for investing in a Canadian government fund, sorry way too risky. The country is on the verge of economic collapse and they have a drama teacher with no experience calling the shots.....you go ahead though....just don't come crying to Daddy when it all goes south!
the Nazis in Germany stopped the trading of gold. Nobody was allowed to trade any gold, and every person was forced to deliver all their physical gold to a bank and get it reimbursed, or loose the right to trade it.
Well, that was the Nazis in their time. . .
However you see, what I like to say, any government can terminate the trading of gold any time they wish to do so

yes, that is the name of the Cafe
the three-star & four star reviews on tripadvisor describe it mostly as okay but average. Definitely worth a try for their apple cake, cheese cake and the chocolate tarts
-
try the german cafe & bakery in the Jomtien Second Road . .just a few meters from the junction with the Soi Watboonkanjanaram. They got homemade cakes & breads

check google
inside the Khao Yai National Park there are no accomodations. All resorts are at the borders. From there out you can either go by your rented car, or by a guide

can you not update your bankbook on the UPDATE machine outside of the Kasikorn Bank ??
ah, sorry, I just realize this is not the problem. The problem is the balance of yesterday in the letter of today

Where was this, though?
in Sisaket.
You can search in the forum, many others on other Immigration offices had to do the same . . . go outside and withdraw 500 Baht and show them the slip, which will state the up-to-date balance of the account.
I am aware Chaengwattana and Chiang Mai like to make up their own rules . . . .
Can you get a re-entry permit on a 60-days Single Entry Tourist Visa ?
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

this is another possibility and he had in mind to do exactly that! Thanks for mentioning it!
Yet now he changed his plans completely and will stay in Thailand first for a prolonged holiday before he leaves for Cambodia, thus receiving the full expenditure on his 60 days SETV
