  1. to have a good time Thai style stay at Withe sand resort tel 038 644000-3

and enjoy dinner with fire play next door Ploy BBQ restaurant on the beach good value and fun.

It is not far from main arrival pier ( 10 minutes local driving ) in the national park area and for a short stay it is very appropriate.

    Cheers

  2. thank you for your valuable common sense comments.

    Nothing to add !

Sister act means Thailand risks a return to dark days of Thaksinomics

Bloomberg - Just when we thought we'd seen everything from Thaksin Shinawatra, the former Thai prime minister has managed to clone himself. The genetic copy in question is Thaksin's younger sister, Yingluck Shinawatra, who is running for his old job. If you think this sounds like the political version of a cheesy horror film, imagine how Thailand's 68 million people feel. They've seen this one before and it doesn't end well.

  3. Is she the Thai Palin ? no way only a Thaksin young sister only and much younger than him by 18 years......

Lucky PM Abhisit to have her in his opposition as an exiled felon Representative.......pure hot air with a good looking face.

Not all people who vote for the PTP will be ardent Thaksin lovers.

Anyone who thinks the Dems haven't been effective, anyone who wants constitutional change, anyone who dislikes the army's current role in politics, anyone who thinks censorship is on the increase, anyone who thinks prior governments have been unjustly ousted etc etc may choose PTP simply as a protest vote showing their dissatisfaction with the current situation.

In a way I feel sorry for Abhisit because he's going to lose votes on issues over which he has had little or no control.

I'm not saying a PTP government will bring sweetness and light, but think back yourselves to times when you've voted in your countries for an opposition party. Were you 'pushed' away from the incumbent party because you thought they were crap, or were you 'pulled' by the promises of the opposition?

    Hear, hear!

Of course in Thailand there are also some who simply think Ms. Yingluck looks nice enough to vote for. In a way as good a reason for voting as many others I've read about :ermm:

  4. to bring any color to justice right now is like pouring oil on fire though slowly they have been caught why not non brutal Asian way take your time.........salt, pepper, chili and poison will be added in all the cases......

Perhaps Mr Abhisit's failure to bring any of the "yellow shirts" to justice, will come back to haunt him in the election results. Plus the contemptible minimum wage rise given to Thailands poorest, while MPs (amongst others), were given double digit percentage increases. I, too, think Mr Abhisit seems to be a decent man, possibly too decent for the task at hand. There can only be two ways forward for any country, evolution or revolution. Evolution requires a well educated population, a corruption free society, and a fairer distribution of the wealth a country creates. Thailands biggest problem is, that with each year that passes, these aims seem to get further away.

  5. unreal to be offered i. e. by one promoter 300 years lease and by an other guaranteed return as high as nearly 9% in Koh Samui where the land can NOT belong EVER to any foreigner and if a couple Foreigner ( farang ) with Thai in case of death of the Thai wife the husband has to sell any property in THAI LAND.....investment and THAI Land can not mix for foreigner only for cow boys maybe if..........Phuket is in trouble though Samui is close behind can not be dissociated.

Charging the time or simili shares aggressive marketing.......mad.gif

Must be time for the periodic timeshare bashing brigade to get on their high horses..................bring it on :D

Sorry to disappoint you but i really don't have a problem with timeshare as such. Its your choice to take it or leave it. What i do loathe is the pathetic sales pitch of Brit gap year students calling me mate and asking me if i'm enjoying my holiday like they really give a toss, before they blatently lie to me about what they are selling.

However, i think many "legal" expat workers here have a problem with them working here "illegally" without "work permits" when most other people have to go through the correct procedures, which ofcourse costs money aswell for a "work permit" to work here "legally." Many also feel these people make life harder for those who take the time to abide by the law. Most i've met could'nt sell water to a dying man in the Gobi desert but thats another matter altogether.

    Hows that for starters? :)

I suppose you also either work or have very close friends/relatives that work at the labour office and can confirm they do not have work permits......sorry to dissapoint you but all OPCs and Reps are issued with valid work pernits so they are in fact working legally..as for gap year students, that isnt exactly correct, think you will find most are long term residents with Thai connectins...wife/children

Oh yes silly me. All of those irritating knobs that pestered me on a daily basis last time i was on Phuket all had valid permits did'nt they. :D

The only thing that disappoints me is that they are so totally unprofessional. Their sales pitch is borderline retarded,

PS The everyones a winner....oh i can'tbelieve it you've won scratch card is gutt wrenchingly aweful btw.

  6. Monitoring the Thai Land for 4 decades it is unbelievable to witness so much non sense mostly to the detriment of the first PM acting as a real CIVIL SERVANT to benefit THAILAND not selfishly to himself neither to any one in his entourage and certainly not playing games, shuffling cars perpetually, as so many did previously once elected.

It is boring NOT to have the eyes wide open to SEE that PM Abhisit is walking on eggs in front of the evidences available that should put in jail all the culprits whom have used so much unrestrained violence to kill more than 90 Thai all of them innocent for being there at the wrong moment.

Mr. PM Abhisit has learnt in UK from the PM Mrs.Thatcher days when herself had to fight every one around, Irish terrorism included, to enforce her policies to grow Great Britain domestically and Internationally.

This is a pleasure to be able to understand PM Abhisit speeches translated in English ( smile ) expressing COMMON SENSE, PATIENCE, ACTIONS, DEDICATION and a LOT of RESPECT for his enemies.

In Thailand Our Majesty the King is The Highest Master of ALL Ceremonies deserving the Highest respect with every one assisting of course with the protection of The Royal Thai Army.

Let the people who want to work do their job and the talkers to shut up.

A return to the Thaksin days can only emulate an elite of corrupters to enrich themselves once more certainly NOT to enrich those manipulated called his followers.

Put up of shut up said Ronald Reagan.

Enough is enough VOTE Abhisit for all the Thai population well being and do NOT give a chance to the losers whom are looking for their own revenge.

    end

  7. Nothing about Samui ? where there are a lot of very creative offers like 300 years leases etc....

About time the authorities investigated these rip-off merchants in time share. The way these unscrupulous touts working illegally without work permits in Patong hassle and scam naive and unsuspecting tourists is an absolute disgrace

  8. right in the middle of the city behind Sofitel: White Sand hotel very nice comfortable good value and so central.

Nice restaurant La Paillotte and full of life all around without excesses.

you can contact Khun Poppies she will make you nice offer

  9. I often wonder what it is like to be so blinded by hatred for a person that any rational thought to the current political instability is hitherto impossible.

It is worrying that after multiple coups, numerous constitutions, juntas, fascist dictators, brutal actions by the military, lack of accountability for military human rights abuses and so and so on, that people still remain fixated on a populist politician and successful businessman that is now in exile, rather than the proven and consistent danger of the last seven decades.

I often wonder what it is like to be so willfully blinded by ignorance that any rational thought is simply discarded in favor of praising the virtues of a demagogue they have never had any personal experience with.

I have had personal experience with Thaksin. He is a malevolent evil far and above any other figure in Thailand today. The problems with political instability are almost completely his doing. The rest of the concerns are hardly more than rabble rousing by a loathsome, heinous cretin who rivals Hitler in his depravity.

The consistent danger of the last 7 decades pale in comparison to the proven evil of that villainous, wicked barbarian now in exile. Your time would be better spent by opening your eyes and learning more about the lout you are trying to promote, rather than chastising those of us who are not morally bankrupt and actually care about the long term stability of this great country.

You are absolutely correct in your thinking.

VOTE TO PROTECT MONARCHY: ARMY CHIEF

All the gossips around a has been are boring especially when we do witness the hard and serious work of PM Abhisit the past 2 years, with a strong stockmarket and a strong Thai Baht reflecting well the seriousness of the country since Thaksin has been excluded and a reward for PM Abhisit leadership.

  10. Thaksin went ahead and divorced his own wife of 20+ years to pursue his comeback wholeheartedly. He's putting his sister up to an enormous task. He might have a cock-eyed ambition regarding his chances of getting whitewashed, but it's not that easy and the pressure will be on Yingluck to perform miracles. Even if they do pull it out of the hat, I doubt the Bangkok public will accept it, she'll face a similar standoff to that of Somchai.

She's attractive, a fresh unsullied face in politics, perhaps inexperienced but wholly unsuitable for the dirty job that her brother has in mind for her. Does she realise that bringing back Thaksin to Thailand without any accountability is going to be a very traumatic experience for the whole country with her in the centre of it all. Just ask Abhisit what a stressful job this is.

    You are right indeed.

To read a fair acocunt of Thai Politics read The Nation 13 Apr 2011 front page

VOTE TO PROTECT MONARCHY: ARMY CHIEF

asks 60 m people to cast ballots;10 red leaders to be probed for lese majeste.

    THAT IS SERIOUS INFORMATION.

Let's stop feeding the gossips all around a HAS BEEN.

  11. Never any one had ever heard a lady say straight in your eyes with a smile " what ever you do I do " ........................

Or see their face when asked what you have done gone away when you answer to your cherished one " I have done not more neither not less than you did in my absence "....

couple life us neither easy neither simple especially when your wife is pregnant and after when she is recovering from it......

Amazing Thailand is amazing for ever.

  12. under the disaster area declaration the 21 days cancellation should not apply ask for a refund and or negotiate if you still go there and it is according to your expectations regardless of the climate under the tropics.

hi- due to arrive in samui in 8 days to stayat Banana Fan sea - have been there many times but am not keen to go with major damage reported to hotel - payig top dollar for a damaged resort undergoing repairs !! Apart from travel ins does anone know if there is a "disaster policy" or the like for refund - as we are not within the "21 days cancellation period" have heard the resort is currently closed - cant get them on the phone ? very frustrating ! also if anyone has any pics they can post - i would love to see them . What to do ? who to contact ? we are three famlies travelling from australia - with 6 kids between us - not fun in a damaged resort - damaged/ closed shops / bars / restaurants ! i also heard u cannot swim in sea to to debris - snakes and crocodiles ???

    Help !! Shannette

Ps looking at going to khao Lak instead - anyone know anything about there ??

    cheers

  13. Remember Samui Tropical Island though Mother nature can strike hardly in South of France as a surprise but can do the same under the tropics as a normal fact of life under the tropics. Every one seems to forget this is a Tropical area.

    Think or swim.

More pics.........from south chaweng beach, in front of the 72 villa, four star resort Banana Fan Sea. Enjoy your holiday, please come back to Samui next year and don't forget to tell all your friends back home.....................

  14. of course foreigners have nothing to do monitoring Thai election, why should they and in which language ?

As much irritating than security check pre boarding a flight to Singapore and upon arrival an other security check from Singaporeans like if the

    Thai security was not reliable.....

Come on.....Give us a break THAILAND IS MORE THAN AN EMERGING COUNTRY !

  15. pre elections barometers are :

1- the currency actually steady to firm

2- the stockmarket for the 3rd year in a bull trend

3- the economy in spite of the turmoils is raising with the exports strong.

Any moves by ex PM Thaksin and or supporters will create confidence hazards because of his/their past and HIM not been cleared under the laws of Thailand.

PM Abhisit has been working very hard ( not played golf much ! ) the past years and is the one WHO deserves to LEAD the THAI.

    Let's it be

by adoption a fan with all my respect for A strong, patient, soft hand, stamina superb education character PM Abhisit Please carry on.

  16. In that specific case the request for foreigners monitoring is not a necessity if only it would have been to please one red side.

Each country has a population superior to all the others.

In UK we fly the flag

In Frane we are the centre of the World culture.

    In Japan we are Japanese.

In China we are chinese etc.....etc....

The Greeks, Romans, etc...were and disappeared in the Antiquity.

Thai are taught to be proud, to smile rightly to be A Thai but being part of The world better they accept they are not UNIQUE and lose some of their arrogance.

One World One People is not for tomorrow but coming and English still the passport to the World ( even Singapore surrendered to the English language 60 years ago to florish since )

  17. there is an excellent team of Physiotherapists at Vejthani Hospital in Lad Phrao regardless of the distance it is worth it

several hours a week very soon you will be back to normal. No compromise I have enjoyed them 6 months running 3 hours

per week for one leg 3 broken bones ( fibula, tybia, ankle ). No hesitation. Regards Brd
