  1. Can some one tell me where in pattaya i might buy some beef powdered stock from.

i am currently using the Continental brand but am about to run out and can find it any where.i am sure there are other brand i could use also like Maggi or Cambpell's.

    thanks in advance.

  2. ....I just got fed up with the headaches and rented a new Yamaha Nouvo scooter for 3000 baht per month and my headaches went away.

wow that's amazing! i went for the same bike and for the same reason :)

well you could have done better if you contacted me

i can let you have a suzuki step 125cc for 2500 baht per month

    just leave a message.

  3. .....some times I even try to ask how far they are going before I get on.

Don't do it! according to the police(Josh in particular) and the Baht Bus Cooperative, there is an untold rule that if you say anything at all to the driver, you will be then charged like if you hired the whole vehicle, nevermind if there are many other people sitting in the bus with you and he still do many stops and take more customers while he goes....hire your own vehicle instead, these drivers do not deserve any business....

  4. I have been told that we should take Fish oil in Liquid form now instead of as per Capsule form.

does anyone know where I can get it in liquid bottle form in Pattaya please.

  5. I saw Aussie licorice in Villa in Bangkok. Pattaya Villa must have the same stock.
I bought 1 bag of black and 1 of red about 3 weeks ago at Villa. It was a special, big brown bags imported from Australia, at the front end of the snack chips aisle. It was a great treat, but expensive (almost 300 baht for a large bag).

    Ok thank you both.

i think i know the ones

I remember seeing the big bag types in Oz

so will go and grab some.

yes it is a bit expensive

as back home it's about $4 for 300gr

so $11 here is a bit on the expensive side.

but will still give my self a treat.

    thanks again.

  6. Hi, Any one know where i get some Licorice, the sweet type not the herb, or Root type thanks.

    Friendship use to have some,

but they havent had any for about 3 months ago,

so if any one knows it would be appreciated.

  7. Maybe i am wrong, but didn't they require a copy of your passport?

so if you have an outstanding account with them,

couldn't they simply contact the immigration.

then when you try to leave they could detail you.

After all that is what i thought they would want a copy of the passport for,

for that very reason, non payers.

    just my 2 bobs worth

    but good luck.

  8. I will not go into a great big spiel as to why i will just say,

the best is Phyathai Hospital in Sri Racha.

i am going throught the implant treatment now and Dr Gib female (name made easy for farrangs) is the implant specailist there,

she has save me so much money on the bullshit i have been told from clinic within pattaya.

so do yourself a favor travel a little and save alot.

  9. Hi Guys,

which clinic / hospital offers the cheapest and more important fastest solution to obtain the medical certificate for the work permit in Pattaya? Preferrably in North Pattaya, Naklua.

    Any hints welcome!

    Cheers

There is a doctor clinic next to the naklua markets just take your passport and 50 baht paperwork done in 2 minutes and he doesn't even see u..

  10. last year i was in the same situation arrived after the last buses finished for pattaya.

So i exited the airport at the arrival ground and walk out to the road where taxi's were dropping off arriving passengers.

I simply told (not asked) one taxi driver 800 baht to pattaya with toll way included, he mutted 1000b i said take it or leave it.

he took it. when a taxi pulls up to drop off they canno tstay long as the security guards are on the tail, so if they can grab a quick fair they will, as they wil have to wait in the cue otherwise.

arrived safe and sound for 800 baht.

    hope that helps.

whats this bus at 8 pm havent heard of that,

  11. As far as i am concerned tipping is a American thing,

in any country staff will welcome a tip, but it totally up to the customer.

the best i can make out, the ladies the massage work on a commission type basis, some 40-60, or 50-50%.

So as there payment is in the price why should you tip, but if you feel that you got extra good service, you can tip 10-20 baht, after all

20 baht buys a meal here. In my country i would be over the moon if some one tip me $10dollars for a meal.

but as the tipping thing has gone over the top here in Thailand, most service staff expect it now, i have seen some staff abuse customers that dont tip.

    how sad,

  12. I have previously bought multifocal glasses here in pattaya, but now they are rather scratched, i would like to get another pair.

I have heard in other countries we can get a scratch protective coating (sillicone dipped) on you new glasses, but when i ask here they (the girls in the optical shop) just look at you with a blank stare.

Anyhow also i have been to a couple of shops that offer free test and when the result is given to you they are no where the same, so one would ask why the disrepency.

also the price varies a fair bit, so would perfer some thing resonabilily priced.

I had one lady tell me my old lenses are very good quality,(made in Germany) and the replacement price would be 16,500 baht.

well in fact my lenses are made in hong Kong and they cost less that 6000b, so need less to say i just walk straight out.

so if any one can advise me where i can get a proper service, dont mind to travel a little ways, ie rayong or SirAcha, if need be.

please only quote the prices and experience you had purchasing your multifocal glasses that darken in the sunlight.

  13. Hi Everyone,

I have had an accident and I need a MRI scan done as I have been told by the orthopaedic doctor/surgeon at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital.

The scan at the Bandkok Pattaya Hospital costs 13,000 Baht and I am wondering if I can get it for less someplace else or am I best off

to use the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital.

The doctor there certainly seems to know what he is doing. No doubt i have a problem with my shoulder and the x-rays showed no broken bones.

Does anyone here have any experience with this kind of injury in Thailand?

If so where did you go? which hospital?

If I have a rotator cuff tear I will probably also need surgery and maybe someone here has had one done in Thailand.

    Any help/information is highly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Harri

    for waht its worth,

a couple of years ago i had a problem with my left harm, couldn't move it as well as my right.

i when to sri-achar general hospital, after registering, within 30 min i was seeing a specialist, (whom also goes to some of the local hospitals here in pattaya) he gave me a quortzone injection, and told me i will need to come back daily for massage treatment at a cost of 150b per day for 45 min.

after 1 month i was fine and have been for the 2 year since., the girl that massage are uni trained and know what they are doing.

  16. There is an airport bus station. There are buses from there to Jomtien and to Pattaya directly. These buses to not make any stops and are express and only about 120 or so baht. The first bus is 6am.

I usually catch the bus, but if arrival is after hours i exit the airport terminal at the arrival floor.

then as the taxi arrive letting people out, just ask them if they want to take you to Pattaya, i told not ask this taxi guy 800b all up to Jomtien and he said jump in. they are to happy to get a customer straight away. they cannot chat to much as the seurity tewll them to move on, so they make out that they where there to pick you up, so act a little pal'y to play the game.

    easy pesy.

  17. i dont remember say it was a great night out.

i went to buy a bike i got 2 they where great deals.

    i consider i saved around 15,000 per bike .

so you be the judge 1 hours of crap music and not understand a word the auctioneers says.

TO IYAH I have receive a photo copy of the papers and i was told I would get the originals in

    about 4-6 weeks time.

ps it would be smart to take a thai, you must remember thai dont live at auction so it will

obviously be not easy for them either, but they can help with the bidding aspect.

REMEMBER IT IS BUYER BEWARE , I HAVE ENJOYED MY PURCHASES, THAT DOESN'T MEAN THAT YOU WILL.

imaneggspurt good luck at what every you decide.

  18. there is a auction held every thursday @5pm at the night markets on thepasit road jomtien,

they ussaully have over 100 bikes on offer.

you buy as is so its a good idea to get there earlier to check them out.

they dont start them up, and most have been sitting for some time.

i have bought 2 and am happy with my purchases.

paid 16,500 for a moi with 4000 km on the clock ,and a Nouvo for 15,000 its about an additional 3,000b on top with additional fees from the auction house.

but its buyer beware, but i am happy about it.

there are thais that buy, then and resell at the bike shops,

    good luck.
