  1. of course if the west really wanted peace they would stop supporting the apartheid in Israel. Bush said as much in his memoirs.

If we really want peace we must acquiesce to your demands?

How about if the US really want's peace...we will sit peacefully in our office buildings, like we were doing. There wasn't a single US unit on a combat footing in the Middle east on Sep 10th 2001.

Sooner or later we all have to pick sides. To think the world can live in peace and harmony is delusional. I am happy to openly admit what side I am on. It's funny how there is so much talk about dialogue over war, but when we try to discuss it, all we get from the other side is "You're wrong, stop speaking"

  2. So you both have no problem with carpet bombing and flying even "likes" this post? As long as we're getting extreme, why not just nuke them? We'd get rid of the terrorists and piss off the military-industrial complex at the same time.

Why not? I don't know. Maybe there are issues with ground water, or weather patterns. Nuclear weapons, in the absence of total war, have alot of considerations. Maybe all our Tomohawks were going to expire? I work at the operations level, not the strategic planning level. Ethically I have no problem wiping this rag tag collection of illiterates off the earth. They seem to have no problem blowing us up at any opportunity.

Screw 'em, and everyone that looks or talks like 'em...beleive me, that is what they think of you. You demonize me, and defend what you see as the weak and oppressed, but they don't want your defese. You are just as much a demon as I am. They will cut your head off, alot more readily than engage you in an honest debate.

  3. Yes, I beleive the current exchange rate is 24 Pakistani Border guards for annoying one US Special Forces patrol. The goat herders are tough. It's like trying to convert Nigerian money. You need scientific notation to cut down the zeros

As for taking out the leaders, we keep trying but they refuse to hold up the big orange marker signs like we asked them too.

But surely they do, that's why the drones are so succesful isn't it? Otherwise they would just be killing suspects and innocents with the occasional lucky hit........oh wait....

We are spending millions of dollars on smart weapons to try to minimize unintended casualties. In fact the unintended casualties in this type of war are probably lower than any time in all of human history. The simple fact is, unless you have combatants that are kind enough to clearly distinguish themselves from noncombatants (which is why combatants from CIVILIZED nations wear uniforms) and Seperate themselves from civilian populations by building bases like we do, then a zero rate of unintended casualties is impossible. The enemy wears the same clothes as his innocent counterpart, and lives among them. He attacks our bases, then runs and hides behind his women SPECIFICALLY so women and children WILL be killed when we attack him, then he wails and crys from the camera and the bleeding hearts cry for his loss. Don't be Naiive. We do what we can to prevent this, but it is impossible to eliminate it. The only other option is to stop caring at all and just wipe out entire villages, leaving nobody to cry for the cameras. While I personally don't see the issue with this, America doesn't behave that way. Our enemy routinely targets civilians and civilian population centers in the most cowardly ways, but we are the bad guys. So be it.

  4. I wonder how many people died horribly in various government cellars around the world as a result of this mans ego trip?

    A freak show.

Probably none, of more significance are the number of people around the world that died horribly in Government cellars as a result of covert illegal renditions by various Government secret services, which wikileaks does it's best to expose.

I personally know of several people who dissapeared after the Wikileaks blew their cover. This man is responsible for the deaths of who knows how many people. He is an anemy combatant in the war on terror, not a hero.

You know of several people who have disappeared? Are you also a member of the SAS but can't talk about it because of the official secrets act?

The whole world has pondered this dichotomy and here we are on TV, with someone who personally knows several people who have disappeared because of Julian Assange.

Edited to add, the more I read your post the funnier it gets. Thanks

    Glad I could help.

  5. This man is responsible for the deaths of who knows how many people. He is an enemy combatant in the war on terror, not a hero.

Hopefully he will pay for his sins in a big way.

Well they have already tried to "frame" him with dirty tricks.

Funnily enough sheeple like yourself fall for it EVERYTIME.

You don't need to frame him. He openly admits to engaging a treasonous American soldier in international espionage. He stole the secrets of a sovereign state and published them for personal profit. It's no accident that all five major world newspapers who initially backed him, renegged when they saw the information he was trying to publish. We seem to forget that he only posted to WikiLeaks with the appeal for paypal after his original buyers backed out. We will never know how many people were killed as a result. People who just dissapear do just that. We may never know what heppened to them. This man is a spy. What is worse is he didn't spy to advance a national ethos. He spied in unapologetic attempt at self promotion. There is nothing to fall for. He has established himself as an enemy combatant, in a declared war. He is not an A-Hole...I am an A-hole...Assange is a terrorist.

  6. Yes, we should just go back to the practice of carpet bombing major population centers. It is much easier than targeted precision strikes that minimize unintended casualties, albeit occossionally making a mistake.

Carpet bombs or just send a atom bomb over? Its been done in the past hasnt it.

Leave some of that nasty depleted uranium around too just for the hell of it.

    Who cares huh?

Ghandi said "an eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" I could not agree more, an eye for an eye is foolish. I say an eye for a dozen lives leaves a one eye'd man who nobody f@@ks with.

You are so well ard BOS2BKK are you sure you are not SAS but you can't tell us because of the official secrets act?

No but I stayed at a Holiday Inn express last night.

  7. Drones are a good thing.

Why are drones a good thing?

Because they allow us to target the enemy without endangering the lives of good Americans. Why would you trade a multi-million dollar pilot for an illiterate goat herder? Let them get a Griffin shoved up there man love chute and ride it straight to where they belong.

But I thought the Pilots would be attacking Terrorist leaders, why are we exchanging them for illiterate goat herders? By the way is one innocent life worth less than another?

The B-shift is on. Time for bed.

  8. Why are the "terrorist" leaders cowardly?

Because these evil creeps trick women, and the mentally challanged into killing innocent civilians and themselves while they hide out and look for more recruits to kill even more innocents.

Hahaha i agree whilst they are sitting in the cosey offices in the whitehouse or pentagon.

Military men are “dumb, stupid animals to be used” as pawns for foreign policy.

    Henry Kissinger,

National Security Advisor to Nixon, 1973.

It's awesome that you are quoting a member of one of the most Hawkish White Houses in history to condemn warfare...

  10. They kill cowardly terrorist leaders that would be imposssible to get rid of otherwise.

Why are the "terrorist" leaders cowardly? I dont see obama or previously bush and his cronies out on the battle field.

I guess the "terrorist" leaders have there own drones. "suicide" bombers.

    Now lets talk normal.................

Drones are cowardly weapons. Something un manned thing smashing into a place they "suspect" a "suspected" "terrorist" is. Who cares about the innocent people that might be around the " suspected" "terrorist"

Yes, nothing says Macho like holding a box cutter to the throat of a Female flight attendant and flying the hijacked plane into an office building. I agree. We are wasting the drone strikes. A B52 with half a dozen Nukes would solve the problem in a much less cowardly way. Decisive action for a dedicated enemy.

  11. I have travelled in Pakistan for two and a half months. There you can see heavily armed men on the streets almost everywhere as a matter of course. Those are mostly Pashtuns, members of the free tribes of Pakistan, not terrorists.

When the US drone operators see those they automatically think "terrorists" and kill them, often along with their families.

I highly doubt the drone operators are looking for just anyone with a gun. Like you say, almost everywhere someone is carrying one so that would be a poor requirement for targeting. Now, if you are an innocent local carrying a AK-47 and happen to be close to where someone is shooting at Coalition forces and are spotted, you'll probably be a target. But anywhere in the world if one human with a gun is being shot at and he sees another human with a gun in the same direction as where the bullets are coming, he's probably going to shoot back first and ask questions later. Just in this case the return fire is not a bullet, it's a missile. All the more reason for the people on the ground to be more careful where they flaunt their weapons. Not like drone strikes are something new.

Well be thankful. If it wasn't for Messers Assange and Manning we would never have seen the Apache shoot up a bunch of journalists and their children (the kids were not collateral damage, they were seen getting in the van), non of whom were carrying weapons nor were they near anybody carrying weapons. In fact the only thing carrying weapons in the vicinity was an .......Apache!

If you think the drone operators take time to distinguish between a gun carrying local tribesman and a member of the Taliban you are dreaming.

As Flying pointed out several times in earlier posts, the targeting is usually done by agents using sources on the ground. The quality of this work will vary greatly and errors will be made. The quality of the source and the quality of the agent who handles him as well as many other variables which really are difficult to control have everything to do with the operation.

Air Force pilots are being trained to operate the drones. The intelligence comes from a source on the ground and passed to the drone control by a Civilian CIA handler. The handler does not exist officially so how to you manage accountabilty with this ugly scenario?

Yes, we should just go back to the practice of carpet bombing major population centers. It is much easier than targeted precision strikes that minimize unintended casualties, albeit occossionally making a mistake.

  13. I think all drug dealers are scum and this one should be put in jail for the rest of his life and overdosed every day on the very drugs he was selling and be shown videos of the missery to the children and families wrecked by drugs. There should be some strong rope hanging from the ceilingin the cell for his use.

Are you sending the same message to alcohol and tobacco companies as well ?.....think you will find statisically alcohol does far more damage...rolleyes.gif

So think about that, the next time you pick up your Chang...

Yeah you often see toothless whores selling themselves on street corners to feed their cigarette habit....

  14. Did anyone else regard the article as written with sexist overtones?

"bring a fresh, gentle approach to enforcing traffic laws"

"bring a lighter approach to the enforcement of traffic laws"

"lady officers are probably discouraged by the tough conditions of Bangkok streets"

    "after some persuasion"

    "officers volunteered their services"

    What's your point man?

  15. It fortunately never ceases to amaze me how ignorant, small minded, bigoted people take an abhorrent and despicable event and try to turn it into some kind of commentary on different religions.

You're very comments produce the type of atmosphere allowing violence that you are supposedly against.

Every culture on the planet has despicable acts against innocent people. To use it as an opportunity to build hate and animosity towards people is truly one of the lowest forms of human behavior.

There is a Sanskrit proverb saying: "To that ruler those people." (eta raja tada praja). This proverb can be reversed. Therefore a people reflect the religion they follow. And a religion reflects its followers.

Pakistan means "the land of the pure" and it sends preachers and proselytizers to many countries. I understand the comments you so sternly judge and demean. I guess it would be different if their religion was low key and Pakistanis would keep their spirituality to themselves. But there is a history of religious pride preceding citizens of that overtly religious country.

I do not approve of a "lynching atmosphere" created by reckless comments, and I agree with you on that side, but I neither approve of excessive political correctness that can only contribute to stifling self-criticism among Muslims.

You can delete my comment and call me inflamatory. it doesn't make what I said any less true. There are no shortage of these abuses towards women and girls, particularly against what are considered lower people. How many Indo maids are on trial for witchcraft in Saudi right now? The nanny who went home with nails in most of the bones in her body? Yes, every culture has abberations, my point was, this is not an abberation, this is an accepted practice. Shining light on a problem cures it. Political correctness is empowering for the this type of behavior.
