  1. Hi im annoyed with this thai embassy.... Did you submit wage slips and bank statements first time.... I dont know why if its there fault for delay do we have to update the information...... And if you already supplied a p60 which will be 2011-2012 you wont get a new p60 till april which will be 2012-2013

Yes supplied them with wage slips from jan 2012 to Oct 2012 although my bank statements werent fully upto date - long story. They asked for my last 3 wage slips (covering time they had my application) and last 6 months bank statements. My p60 would be useless as I was still living in Thailand for most 2011/2012. Have they phoned your missus?

  2. My missus got a call from the UKBA today - Asked her few questions about the company i work for (which she didnt have a clue). Anyway, they want to see some more information - Nov to Jan back statements a bit surprised requesting this information but its probably to do with changing job in September. Also, wanted more details on my previous job - dont understand what they want here as I sent them all the details i had - headed paper confirming my salary -original wage slips - plus the details required on the application.

I will need to confirm with them direct what information they need - Does anyone know an email address to do this?? The missus was asleep at that time so maybe picked something up wrong. We have 10 days to supply the information.

For you guys waiting the current timescale would be 14w-3days if there are no questions.

  3. Think it might be down to job front - I lived in Thailand until Sept 2011. When I got back i had a couple of low paid jobs until Jan 2012 and that point I got a job and earning above the threshold. However, I resigned in Sept 2012 and I got new job earning a lot more money. Therefore, I have had three jobs in 14months - mind you I'm earning 2.5times more money from when I first got back!! I did explain this in the application so hopefully be OK.

  4. Got a reply form the VFS this morning -

"The UK Border Agency aims to process 90% of non-settlement visa applications in not more than 3 weeks, and 95% of settlement visa applications in not more than 12 weeks. However, the unique circumstances of each individual case and referrals to other units within the UK Border Agency may result in longer decision times.

Your application falls outside of the UK Border Agency published processing targets, and therefore your enquiry has been forwarded to the UK Border Agency Correspondence Team, who will respond to you directly."

Its got me worried "unique circumstances" I guess its wait and see what the UKBA say

  5. Hi All,

Looking for a bit of advice. I planning on taking my Thai girlfriend (who is also my business partner) back to the UK for a 1 month holiday. Therefore we are applying for a general visitor visa. I'm in the process of filling out the online application form but just wanting some extra advice on the supporting documentation.

    I'm going to provide -

Copy of her bank account which has funds for a months stay.

A letter from my parents stating we will be staying with them.

A copy of our company registration document which shows both our names (We own a bar) - Does this need to be translated into English?? (The website seems to condratice itself) and if so can anyone recommend a good translation company?.

Birth certificate of her daughter who lives with us but will be going to her grandparents whilst we are away.

A letter from myself plus copy of my work permit etc stating we are going back togehter and fully intend to return.

Am I missing anything which would help in the application??

    Many Thanks

  6. Thanks everyone for all your help. Although I'm more than confused from when I started lol. Having spent a few hours looking the Thai/UK embassy I've found the following -

    Purpose of visit:

    a) TOURIST VISA: = Tourism only (employment, paid or unpaid, is strictly forbidden)

    :) NON-IMMIGRANT: “B” = Business only

“ED” = Education/Study, Seminar/Conference/Exhibition, Event Official or Training Course

“O” = Friends/family, Extended Stay, UK Pensioner, Volunteer Worker, Seek Work

Therefore, its defo an "O" visa I need,

Looking at the documentation needed it states -

    Evidence substantiating purpose of visit:

Extra evidence, as detailed below, is required only for Non-Immigrant Visas Categories “B” and “ED”:-

Category “B” = Letter from sponsor or copy of company documents or valid work permit

Category “ED” = Sponsor letter from educational establishment

Category “O” = Copy of Marriage Cert (if married to Thai national) or Pension Book or Sponsor Letter

THE FOLLOWING MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH ALL VISA APPLICATIONS

    a) Application form – fully completed and signed (page 3/8).

:D Passport which should be valid for at least six months from date of travel.

    c) One recent “passport type” photograph to be attached to application form.

    d) Self-Certification Guarantee Form (page 6/8).

    e) Appropriate fee and return postal charge together with Payment Details Form (page 7/8).

States only a working permit for Cat "B" visa - Interested to know people thoughts on this.

    Thanks again

  7. Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for a bit of help on applying for the correct visa. I'm currently living in the UK but starting some voluntary work in Thailand for 6 months in Jan - I've got a supporting letter from my sponsor. The problem I have is a single entry visa is for 90 days which isn't long enough. I suggested to my sponsor that i should apply for a multi entry visa. However, they stated that these are rarely issued and I should apply for a 2x3 month visa but I cant find anything about this visa. I can only find single and multi entry.

    Many Thanks in advance
