Its 100K UK Pounds- companies would regularly pay that for executives in many capital cities and many individuals as well.

I've been enjoying Mexico since I left Thailand. Fixing to head down to the beaches of Cancun, Tulum, Progresso, and for my big city fix Merida. I have had all of Thai immigration I can handle in my lifetime.
Mexico?? How long will you survive? Quite dangerous there...

NON-O Retired Visa Is Not Enough To Come Back To Thailand
This situation is clearly known for a long time already. Nothing new at all and it will not change in the near future.
The OP must have slept for a long time if he did not know about it.- 2

Maybe just me but I honestly can't see what I'd do with 9 months in Thailand.
I can't imagine 9 places
( areas) that would provide enough to do to pass a month in each.
If, as is sometimes reported, many places are shuttered due to Covid what would I do to pass the days and evenings? How many temples/beaches can you visit etc.
It's not as though you can visit neighbouring countries ( 14 days lock up every time you return to Thailand )??
A couple of weeks ago we had a break in a 5☆ place we had been to a few years ago. At that time it was really good.
I reckon we were 2 out of 20 staying there. Breakfast was buffet style and only 2 or 3 staff on hand to clear tables.
Everything looked and tasted like it had been cooked at least 2 hours before and was all stone cold. When we asked about getting freshly cooked eggs/bacon/ham the answer was 'Covid problems' whatever that means.
If someone goes through the entry requirements tests/insurance/expensive flights/expensive quarantine then ended up in a similar situation to the above described I would not like to be on the receiving end of their tirade.
Just sayin'
After reading your post I got headache...

You clearly do not follow threads on here, many posters, myself included are unable to do it on line.
My last entry into Thailand was in 2012, too far back for immigration system to accept.
I am really sorry that I did not follow all the threads on TV...can you please forgive me?

It seems abundantly clear that those who make the rules do not intend for Thailand to ever return to the 40 million/year tourists they had been welcoming over the last few years.
Yes, 40 Mill. were too much. Better less and more quality.

I don't bother trying to do it online as it's a short trip (11 kms) to the Immigration Office once every 3 months. Small price (and effort) to pay in order to stay compliant.
I usually add some other chore to the trip (like a visit to Makro or stopping for breakfast somewhere on the way back).sure, everybody must know himself how to spend a nice day 55555

mainly tourists from China can come (Europe and the US are too risky)

I didn't get any schedule during my last extension to proof 800K after 3 month. Does anybody know if it is obligatory to proof this after 3 month? Last year I got a schedule and I went there (Soi 5). They checked my balance but I didn't get any receipt that I fulfilled my obligations. Of cause I kept this amount on my account this year too but what happen if I will show it next year with my next extension?

The govt is kinda stuffed if they do and stuffed if they dont. It is not an easy situation to handle. They allows tourists back and covid makes a rears its head again they will have the general population up in arms wanting their head. If they dont do anything they have the tourism sector protesting at their doors. I understand what they are trying to achieve here even though its probably not the greatest of ideas but i guess it at least shows they are making some attempt.
In regards to some of the comments about long stay tourists or expats being forgotten. These types of tourists are not what is going to save the tourist industry. Some foreigner renting a private apartment on a monthly basis eating at local restaurants and drinking at a local bar isnt their focus. Its the short stay tourists that are staying in hotels, eating in restaurants targeted at tourists who are also going on day tours, diving and all that stuff most long term stayers arnt interested in doing and spending money on souvenirs and duty free.
No, they don't target short staying tourists. 2-3 weeks quarantine makes this impossible. Perhaps they don't target expats but they like that the long time tourists come back (I mean the real tourists)

There should be no problem adding more hotels onto that ASQ list to accommodate the few more that this would apply too..
Maybe you don't read the news....the "emergency" is not over.... and the government is deciding how to manage the problem, not you. I don't think that you have enough information to form an opinion whether there could be added more hotels to that ASQ list or not. There are even many Thai people staying abroad who don't can come back at the moment. Your ownership don't entitle you to any privilege. Just be patient and wait a while.

Even all Thai citizens cannot come back to Thailand at the moment. There is not enough capacity to handle the quarantine.
and you are talking about property owners... 555 I understand your problem, but you should be a bit more patient- 3

Yep. Even with the "Elite" visa witch could have been seen as the right one for owners/investors.
Bad business for the real estate now too. No farang will buy (unless those who are 100% sure to stay without traveling, and even so...), and those who bought have/will sell.
The virus is not only in Thailand and you will see a great depression in all countries. It will be very difficult to sell condos within the next 2-5 years. This has nothing to do with the immigration rules. The rules will change perhaps end of this year but the economic depression will stay much longer. Good luck if you want sell your property.

The rules about the ownership of properties have nothing to do with the immigration rules. You can own a property, but never visit the country.

Nonsense...
1. Not the government is selling the condos. The government decides about the immigration rules.2. Nobody had any knowledge about the virus at the time of the purchase deal.
So...where is the scam?- 4
