    You may have heard of an emergency evacuation ? Apart from service that is what the crew are there for, amongst other safety duties.

    I have flown Thai hundreds of times and whereas their crew were generally pleasant, some of them are (were) the rudest I have encountered in the service industry anywhere.

    Actually it didn't bring me here. What the author is inferring, for you and others that don't comprehend, is that Thai culture is somehow superior to that of western countries. Furthermore the sex industry is endemic in Thailand, not just in tourist areas. It is a part of Thai culture.

    Yes, Thailand is certainly not the west and has it's own unique culture. Strange that the author fails to mention the sex industry for which the country is famed, a major aspect of Thai culture.
