More boring than Test Cricket (4 or 5 days with play interrupted by lunch & tea), American 'Football', 1 hour of play and three hours talking about what they are going to do, Baseball....schoolgirls in UK call it Rounders, Marathon running, cycle racing, even F1 Grand Prix all more 'boring' than 90 minutes almost non-stop play.

Test cricket, 5 days of tension and supreme tactics. The fact that women and Americans don't understand it is a bonus.  American Football, the sport of real men and a chess match on turf.  F1, a good way to get to sleep during the day.  The rest I agree, boring in the extreme. Now MOTO GP, there is a sport for Kings.

I don't set a ration, but only drink 6 to 12 large Leos each day. I enjoy drinking beer, and space them out during the day, with the last 4 to 6 in the evening. Put the car in to get cleaned, and drink 2 or 3 with a light meal while waiting. This type of thing.

I still work 3 months each year, so not having to skimp on recreation.

If I die early, I will have loved every minute. Bottoms up. 58yo now.

I hope for your sake that you're joking.

You would not lose your Thai nationality.

There is nothing in the Nationality Act that states dual nationalities are prohibited.

Ubon Joe, I never want to contradict what you say as your knowledge is far greater than mine, but my UK based friend's Brit/Thai son was forced to renounce his Thai citizenship when he was chosen for military service in the lottery and refused to join. They immediately cancelled his passport and eventually, as I understand it, forced him to chose his status one way or the other, he then renounced his Thai citizenship. I hasten to add that I didn't personally talk to the boy, it was all reported by his Father.

I've flown Thai Airways many times and they are excellent unfortunately for most Thai companies along with farmers and many other businesses they suffer due to the false extreme rise on the "Thai Baht" which the present Government is NOT doing a thing to control.????

A strong Thai Baht is not responsible, if anything it helps.  Fuel, (the single biggest cost to an airline), foreign airport charges, ICAO navigation charges and National ATC charges are all paid in US$, so a strong Baht helps. Currency hedging is a common and widespread process in virtually all airlines. It may deter some passengers, but not Thais and not enough to impact profits to this degree, this quickly.  Thai's problem is a higher than acceptable cost base, poor yield management, poor cost control  and what appears to be slack management processes, such as poor strategic planning. All indicative of a company primary in the public sector.

  5. My bedroom has been noticeably cooler these last couple of weeks.  The air-con has been set at 26 degrees and has hardly been activated during the night hours, just the fan blowing. It is very odd weather for this time of the year, lots of cloudy days, but very little rain.  Actually, it's rather pleasant.
