  1. Hong Kong places two stamps in your passport. One an arrival stamp. The second explaining you may not seek work during the 180 days you are in the country. Hong Kong also requires a full blank page before entering the country. (I have an older passport full of Hong Kong stamps to show you if you like). You will find this is the case pretty much everywhere and you will then be stranded in no man's land having left Thailand but denied entry to almost all other countries. Be very careful here - most of the advice above is abysmal and doesn't consider immigration rules. (BTW if you're not a UK citizen you are required to have 2 blank pages which must be on two opposite pages of your passport to enter the UK - lots of people get deported at their own expense each year for ****ing that up too).

I went to HK twice this year and there was no stamp.

You just receive a landing slip

  2. There is a dentist not far away from soi Ramintra 65 which has a lot of clients (One bus stop before 65) - just next to the overhead crossing.

My wife told me that it is a good dentist and as the waiting room is crowded all the time, I believe so...

Don't try the the dentist opposite the market/shopping mall in watcharaphon as I went they there one time and I can't recommend it.

  3. All Thai beer tastes like cat's piss in my humble opinion. I find myself wasting tons of cash on imported stuff.

Carlsberg is acceptable....not an outstanding beer, but it doesn't has the "dirt-taste" or at least in compare to the other Thai beers it is so little that I don't notice it anymore.

But it is also the most expensive of the Thailand made beers.

Carlsberg is brewed in Malaysia, isn't it?

  4. Well last time I checked, the retail prices were almost the same (about 1000baht difference).

If you are buying the mac here in Thailand you can also do VAT refund (7%).

If you are not in hurry you can also request an English keyboard without Thai on it at the apple store.

  5. This question came up in my drivers license test last time.

The one coming from RIGHT has priority and goes first. So actually the same like in Europe just here nobody cares.
